wearing the omv 42mm since 2019. fits well on my 7.35''' wrist and keeping time well. at a fraction of rolex price, it's a good daily beater. yup, some say it copies the design of rolex, but didn't rolex also copy designs of other brands at its first launch? all diver watch looks similar, but steinhart offers the value and features that match your money.
One of my favorite watches that I wear religiously almost everyday is my steinhart ocean one vintage my opinion one of the best watches to own very durable and accurate
I've handled two of my friends Submariners the last few weeks at work...I have never been MORE sure or MORE secure in my Steinhart purchases. Seriously, I could not believe what I was seeing and feeling on the submariners. In my brain i thought: dear friend cling to the heritage and rich history & legacy. But BEN CLYMER himself can not convince me of Rolex being superior in build quality. You want to own a watch from the greatest watch company in the world? Buy a Rolex. You want to own one of the best built watches in the world right now? Buy a Steinhart.
"Greatest watch company in the world? Buy Rolex." - First thing first, Rolex is registered as charity and not as a company. Don't believe me? Do your own research! And second Rolex is one of the great companies but to award it with the title of the greatest? Jesus Christ... That's one title I have problem with. I think that Rolex produces a great watches and I believe that their quality is excellent. But in terms of innovations and complications, they didn't came up with nothing WOW for a very long time. I would place Omega over Rolex any time of the day in terms of quality and innovation, especially when you compare what you get for your money. I deliberately said OMEGA because to put a Rolex in a same sentence with Jaeger LeCoultre, Vacheron Constantin, A Lange Sohne, Patek Philippe or Breguet is a blasphemy. Yes, yes I know all about Rolex smart advertising and their luxury campaign, however even Seiko has managed to outperform Rolex with their GS line. That says a LOT.

Always interested in looking at other things, but I know I won’t be disappointed if I go after a Steiny.
Very decent for the most part . When I started to get into automatic watches around 10 years ago I loved them owned probably 15 over the years . The heavy homage thing is a bit much and often people move on the more experience and informed they become but at price point no one can really complain the price quality ratio is decent . I think for a bit more a Christopher Ward provides watches with completely different level of refinement and I think would be a better place to start , the c 60 can be picked up lightly used for around 450 pounds and is a fantastic watch rivalling and bettering many pieces that retail 1500 pounds or more ..
Been wearing my Apollon Chronograph since December. I like the fact that having 3 bezels and countless straps practically makes it a new watch with every combination.
I have an OceanOne 39 GMT Pepsi. I ordered an additional jubilee bracelet. The watch with that bracelet feel every bit as luxurious as my Omega. The 39mm pushes the limits of my 6 1/4” wrist, but it doesn’t look gaudy. The biggest oversight is that bracelet clasp. On the steel bracelet, the end buckle is stamped. You have to dig out that clasp with your fingernail. My $80 Seiko has a better clasp. If you can forgive the clasp, it’s truly an awesome watch. I saw it on a co-worker’s wrist and complimented him on his Sub. He corrected me and showed off his Steinhart. I bought one the next week.
My wife gave me the Ocean 44 GMT with pepsi bezel this Christmas and I'm really enjoying this watch. It combines my favorite elements from the Rolex Deepsea and the GMT Master II into one beautiful watch that's also accurate as hell.
I've got two. The Premium Ocean Blue and the Vintage Red. The Premium Ocean Blue is spectacular. I originally bought the Ocean Blue as a stand in for when my Rolex Submariner 5513 was being serviced. I now never wear my Rolex as it has become an expensive fashion item and cost Euros 1000 for a service. I now wear everyday my Steinhart. It looks better than the Rolex and is more rugged. It's time keeping is also fantastic. Why does anyone buys a Rolex now? I suppose they want the name because they are unsure of themselves.
I have 2 Steinhart atm, the limited edition (330 pieces) JG74 Flieger 44mm and the Ocean 44 GMT older model with the sapphire pepsi bezel. both keep excellent time are well built and look awesome.

Have a pre-yellow vintage GMT and a Bronze diver. They are both really great. The Bronze diver has turned a nice ships bell green. The bracelets and rubber straps I added are all very nice too. No complaints with Steinhart ... I have more expensive watches that aren't as nice. Good stuff.
I have a Rolex 5513, Steinhart double Red, Steinhart OVM 39 and 42 and I would say for my go to every day watch is my Steinhart 42 OVM. Love this watch. And they all run at COSC. Go for it.
I've been so skeptical about homage watches before and then I ran across Steinhart. I have an Ocean 1 Pink Gold Blue Ceramic headed my way and I couldn't be more excited. I've been searching for a nice quality heritage diver like piece that has a blue face and rose gold PVD coating with a reasonable lug to lug. Tried an OceanX Sharkmaster V and it was a well built piece but the extended end link lugs stuck out SO far, even for my 7 inch wrist. And the crystal was way too thick. Kept searching and searching and finally found Steinhart. I thought oh boy here's another homage company that's going to cut too many corners and put a bad taste in my mouth. But after watching review after review after review, I was completely sold. Speaking of bad tastes and homages, Rolex right now puts a super bad taste in my mouth with the AD and distribution nonsense. My Seamaster Aqua Terra was a way better purchase than an Explorer. In my opinion only.
Great review! It is nice that you also compared the Steinhart with the Oceaneva which you also reviewed. I is a purchasing the oceaneva but could have easily went for the steinhart. The Choice was a trade- off… Open case-back on the Steinhart versus applied indices on the Oceaneva and the fact that the lugs protrude much more on the Steinhart which is an issue for my smaller sized wrist. You cannot go wrong with either watch.
Wonderful review. I have not owned a Steinhart in the past & have 2 questions that I hope you will answer. 1) What is the accuracy of the movements you have experienced i.e. how many seconds per day do they gain? 2) I have read that Titanium scratches easier than stainless steel. In your experience, how much easier does it scratch? i.e. on a scale of 1-10 (with 10 being much more easily), what would your rating be? Thank you in advance for your reply. Morrie
I just bought the rose gold one, and own the Batman gmt on the jubilee bracelet and they are amazing watches. I can’t wait to see the rose gold in person.
I have the same Steinhart as your “keeper” and think it’s the business! Stellar quality and finish and a bit of a strap monster as well. I’ve been wearing it on a black leather rally strap with white contrast stitching and just changed it to a curved-end blue silicone that matches the bezel perfectly. The only thing I would have changed is the hour and minute hands; they’re a little unimaginative. Otherwise it’s one of my favorite pieces! Cheers mate!
I like Steinhart watches, I have the Premium Blue and the Ocean 1 GMT (aluminum bezel) and I think the biggest disappointment is the clasp. It's a friction fit with a foldover, perfectly OK, but not that impressive. The reflective nature of the premium blue ceramic bezel (not engraved ceramic) is also a bit reflective for easy reading. I like them, but if I could replace the clasp I'd like them more and buy more of them.
Thanks for the video and your review of the several models. As an owner of an Ocean One 39 Green I agree on your remarks about overall quality. The bracelet is definitely something they have to work on. For me the bezel was a horror show though. The first 2 months of wearing it it was so damn sturdy that I had to use real force to get it moving at all. After a few months it loosened up. Now when I want to have the arrow sit on the 12 accurately I have to turn the bezel slightly back, otherwise it will be skewed. Maybe something to consider for people who are new to this brand. Regards from Germany
@David Coleman I'd like to give an update now after half a year of ownership. The bezel has really loosened up and turning it is very smooth now. Still a little skewed though. The watch has turned from being an impulse purchase to being one of my daily beaters. If you can live with the imperfections at this price point I can recommend Steinhart.
Do you know also other brands? What Ive got eye on Steinhart - new green one with ceramic bezel and Tissot Seastar 1000, but will buy one or another not both, what do you think? I think Tissot seastar 1000 does not have antireflecting coating? The antireflecting coating make watch look more classy, does not it?
I have a steinhart ocean one and I love it. I also have a tissot gentleman powermatic 80 and I love it. The tissot is the more accurate and a nicer watch in my opinion, with the exception of the bracelet steinhart has tissot beat on the bracelet. I love both of them. You can't go wrong with either brand!
I have 2 Steinharts🎉 Both eta 2824-2 Flieger 44 mm B Type Ocean forty-four ceramic diver One is 8 sec acurate One is 12 sec Love them both. Bought them second hand. Both older than 4 or 5 years. Working perfect and i paid 500 euros for both. Unscratched and with their boxes. Although i own several vintage poljot, sturmanskie sputnik, casio, seiko 5s, and a panerai I still love the feel and looks of my steinharts🥰 Unbeatable experience for the paid price. I will for sure buy steinhart no 3 watch. Maybe a different flieger watch with a transparent back case🥰🍀
Nice review. I think the aluminium bezels are fine, since many of the Steinhart watches are homages of Rolex watches that had aluminium bezels when they were made.
Yes they are most definitely worth it. I've owned 4 of them, I still own 2. I have no problems with the design or the build quality. Steinhart is my favorite micro brand. Furthermore their Ocean series is available in 42mm which is an optimum size for me.
I have an Ocean one ceramic and my opinion they are worth every penny really well made superb quality yes i will buy another one no problem they are quality products at very fair prices
I own the 42mm hulk premium ceramic and I love it but the crown came out the other day I have too take it too a watch maker too get it fixed or Steinhart said I can send it too them other then that I love my watch it’s beautiful
I own three Steinharts. Two of them with aluminum bezels. The aluminum bezels are outstanding for folks who are after the 70's look and feel. To be sure, I'm fine with mine and they evoque exactly the watches they are homaging without being mere replicas or copies. Regarding quality, Obviously they are not luxury Swiss watches but they do set a bar that luxury Swiss watches must beat in every way without debate. With that in mind, I have walked away from Breitlings, Tags, and Rolex dive models I was curious about simply because the finishes were either not superior or in some other way they just did not feel like a better watch than the Steinhart on my wrist or were not right in terms of some specs. I have friends who were profesional divers and who still have or have had Rolex submariners or sea dwellers, and I am myself a retired sat diver who used to wear one of the first Seiko Tunas on the job. I can tell you my friends were baffled at the elegance, look and feel, and overall solid presence of my Steinhart watches, as well as their tool watch quality and specs. I am still looking to step-up but have not yet found that watch I would feel is worth the money in terms of value proposition in regards to the criteria implied above. A Steinhart is a very clear value proposition that way, and they are anything but cheap, they are very honest watches and tool watches befitting the purpose of what they are homaging. I am now looking in the direction of Seiko MM it might be the best profesional dive watch out there and also the most serious/honest value proposition; but I will keep one or two Steinharts, regardless, for sure. We'll see if Seiko MarineMaster will convince.
Hi great review. Regarding the Batman. They do that particular version in titanium or stainless. I know you have chosen titanium but why that over stainless? Was it because of the aesthetics or others reasons like more durable material etc? I love the Batman and can’t decide if I should order Titanium or stainless. Can’t afford both unfortunately
very informative! I have a similar wrist size as you (6.75”). I see that you prefer the 42mm models over the 39mm ones. Why is that? are they wearing that small?
I buy a Ocean One Ceramic. Its so beautifull and feels very qualitiv. The lule are strong and hold on the hole night. The Bezzel feels like the best Bezzel i ever touched. Sorry for my bad english i am from Austria. Yess The Ceramic Bezzel is so beautifull and looks much better than the aluminium ones. I can say for this Money this was the best Watch that i can buy. I love it. Feels like a real Luxurywatch and can do the same things like a real submariner.
I actually prefer the aluminum bezel for two reasons. First, it has more of a traditional look. Second, the white numbers in the ceramic bezel is a turn off. If they'd fill the numbers with a silver color, they'd look much better in my opinion.

The clock was delivered in May 2023. On 02.07.2023 I have slightly readjusted the time. Since then, the clock no longer runs. Even if the clock is now repaired or exchanged, I wonder of course when it will stop the next time. Too bad actually, I had really liked the watch.
Oh yes there worth the money in fact there more than worth it, well built fantastic craftsmanship i have an ocean one ceramic would not be without one great value
New to the channel, thank you for the detailed review, I've got my eye on the diver in titanium. Looking for a daily beater and steinhart, especially in titanium is in my short list. Although they've launched the ocean one as a homage, I do own a few rolex divers, I see them very different. Am a bit skeptical for the 42mm versions as from what I've seen so far, they are quite long - lug to lug I mean. The 39mm is great but not sure whether the titanium is available at that size. Nearly 2 decades ago, anything under 43mm was too small, with my only exception the sub/SD but past 3 years am looking at 38mm to 42mm tops and if they aren't too long. One more model that I've liked is the ocean one vintage mil with the sword hands. The aluminum insert is the downside and perhaps the lug to lug which should be same as all the 42mm around 51.5mm.

@David Coleman I'd like to give an update now after half a year of ownership. The bezel has really loosened up and turning it is very smooth now. Still a little skewed though. The watch has turned from being an impulse purchase to being one of my daily beaters. If you can live with the imperfections at this price point I can recommend Steinhart.
is that silicone band comfortable ? on the gold and black watch
Yes they’re good. Worth every penny. I am more excited to wear my Steinhart GMT than my Omegas or Tag Heuers.
Yes they are good. I have premium Ocean 39 batman bezel and it looks and feels fantastic. Built quality is on par with much higher price watches.
Just realised those exhibition caseback ones are 500m WR.
What grade titanium is this?
I have 2 Steinharts🎉
Both eta 2824-2
Flieger 44 mm B Type
Ocean forty-four ceramic diver
One is 8 sec acurate
One is 12 sec
Love them both. Bought them second hand. Both older than 4 or 5 years.
Working perfect and i paid 500 euros for both. Unscratched and with their boxes.
Although i own several vintage poljot, sturmanskie sputnik, casio, seiko 5s, and a panerai
I still love the feel and looks of my steinharts🥰
Unbeatable experience for the paid price.
I will for sure buy steinhart no 3 watch. Maybe a different flieger watch with a transparent back case🥰🍀
excellent reviewer 2 thumbs up Alex!👍👍
Nice review. I think the aluminium bezels are fine, since many of the Steinhart watches are homages of Rolex watches that had aluminium bezels when they were made.
Yes they are most definitely worth it. I've owned 4 of them, I still own 2. I have no problems with the design or the build quality. Steinhart is my favorite micro brand. Furthermore their Ocean series is available in 42mm which is an optimum size for me.
I have an Ocean one ceramic and my opinion they are worth every penny really well made superb quality yes i will buy another one no problem they are quality products at very fair prices
Would you say the GMT is more accurate than the standard ocean 500 titanium? Thanks.
Is it possible to regulate the strap?
That Alpina is classy
I LOVE my Ocean 39 Ocean Adventurer, 3 seconds variation (fast) per day. Best quality/value for money Swiss made proposition on the market!
Seen no recent Steinharts with aluminium bezel, I guess its around 3-4 years they stopped to produce the alu bezels...
Hi Alex. Very nice review. I think Im going for it. But can you confirm what size is your wrist? I have 6.25". Thanks.
That's a nice strap on Oceniva watch, do you mind if I ask where did you get that from?
hi.. how much is the price when you bought the Titanium Gmt? $630 in u. s. dollars? thanks
Nice review
I own the 42mm hulk premium ceramic and I love it but the crown came out the other day I have too take it too a watch maker too get it fixed or Steinhart said I can send it too them other then that I love my watch it’s beautiful
10:00 they are homage watches and one of the best!
Will the ocean 39 premium gmt fit well on a 6.5 inch wrist?
What about their stainless steel bezels? Example, found in Triton 30. Have you owned one of those?
Interesting review. Wear your pieces in good health. Regards.
very informative!
I have a similar wrist size as you (6.75”). I see that you prefer the 42mm models over the 39mm ones. Why is that? are they wearing that small?
where do you sell these watches?
Also great video,And it's brilliant to see an Irishman doing watch reviews👏👏👏
haha, cheers Peter!
Been looking at getting the smaller 39mm Ocean One Batman, but don't like the hands or painted on indices.
Where is the best place to buy a Steinhart?
Their website...
Yupp, from their site. Mine came in 2 days (Netherlands).
Bought a OVM in January from Steinhart, love the watch, however It was running way too fast took it in to my watch maker to regulate.
Excellent video. I have the OVM 39 which I really enjoy.
Can I ask where you got the strap for the rose gold watch?
Steinhart website under accessories. www.steinhartwatches.de/en/accessoires/bracelet/rubberstraps/kautschukband-neu-20x16-mm-fuer-ocean-39-mit-schliesse-pink-gold.html
Nice watches, really how much glass reflects.
A loom A num….not a loo min ium……lol.
Otherwise, I just bought this watch. Not the gmt. Fantastic watch.
Great review! I wish you would have done a lume shot though.
Subscribed.
nice corsair mousepad 👍
I have the pink gold one. I feel the rotor is noisy compared to mid range Seiko.
Steinhart watches arre worth every penny outstanding quality for the money, i am now lookig to buy a second watch, ETA movment and German attention to build quality . Everything a wtch should be at a price you can afford thanks Gunter Steinhart
So Alex have you sold it yet?
Hmmmm, i quite like these, they’re definitely worth considering. Thanks. 👋
Great review, thanks. I'm on a mission to track down the rare Porsche 911 edition. I've only seen one for sale ever.
Just purchased my 4th Steinhart, the Ocean One 500 Titanium. My Rolex sub dwells in it's auto winder!!
I hv one steinhart watch 42mm GMT... every month 3-4min slower n hv to adjust every month despite wearing all the time.. any idea how to fix this?
