surely the curbing or the wall has to have moved and then gone unnoticed by marshalls maybe during one of the support class races or stadium trucks or whatever was before quali, theres no way 3 of them get it wrong in the same spot one after the other after the other on basically their first push lap so early in the session not a chance. shocker.
just shows the precision of these drivers, maybe one guy makes a mistake - by even an inch and pays the price, such is racing from time to time....... but not 3 in a row, no sir
Why is everyone talking about the wall being moved in? The last 2 drivers launched of the inside kerb on corner entry then straight lined to the outside wall because they only had 2 wheels on the ground after the inside kerb attack.
The inside wall has been moved, 3 drivers don't get the entry point wrong like that. Going in too hot and paying for it on the exit happens all the time, but not turning at the right time? Nah that doesn't happen.
@@petert3355 The curb has always been there but it was never that severe. If you look at footage from the early 2000's its much narrower, meaning you've got to get closer to the fence to hit it, and its less severe because we never saw cars tossed like this from simply hitting the curb. It has definitely been changed to make it wider, and whoever ok'd that needs the sack. This is one of the worst track errors I've seen in a long time.
@@alexbowen8891 No they didn't. Reynolds is the only one I'm unsure of, but the other two have no damage on their right front prior to hitting the outside wall that would suggest they actually hit the wall. Those all look like they've hit the curb.
Ok, who was the muppet that made the call on painting the kerb red white and black… there is a reason it’s red and white (and never black!) red white makes it easy to see the edge. Black with a shadow would do the exact opposite. They could have learnt from Baku.
@jaysonterry4746 between the track probably being quicker in the arvo and a pretty full schedule of other stuff in the day is it really that late? Plus they might have the idea of people can watch after they finish work.
You might see that mistake once or twice in a weekend but to see three within seconds of each other is crazy.
I was at turn 8 grandstand for this is was mental
More entries for Turn 8s greatest hits (and we know shes a long list)
And it’s probably gonna get longer by the end of the weekend
When this happened in F1, it was observed that indeed the wall had been moved mm in on the track. Which is why the driver hit it.
It’s not the outside wall but the inside readied curb on the entry. If u hit it unsettles the car
Yes that was in regards to ayrton senna

Richie moved the wall, watch the replay
@@LachieJohnsonrichie would have moved inwards with that hit, so if it had moved the other drivers would have had more clearance, not less
Glad everyone is OK. What a brutal start to the weekend for those teams.
Well if David crashes he makes shure to do it properly
Sure Not Shure

They mean the inside wall / kerb

Because they have no clue
imagine the g forces going through your body, as you hit that wall, at that speed.
Reynolds is going to have quite a few shouts to make.
2 new cars in 2 events
I'm an American and I know how legendarily difficult Adelaide turn 8 is. Maybe the nastiest corner ever on a street course.
Seeing 3 of the same brutal mistake in so little time is crazy
Hope them boys are good.
What a qualifying session to end 2024
Turn 8 can be nasty
MASSIVE!!!
Epic stuff ups😮
Trust Reynolds to do that
Crazy stuff 😮
That’s nasty wreck at turn 8.
Reynolds smashing under yellow flag. Normally this is frowned upon.
Shouldn't there be an energy absorbing wall there or wouldn't that be good tv?
Me and my drunk friend running into each other be like
Would like to see this from the entry side of 8.
He will need that Tradie beer back...
This is rare this will never happen again
Well until the session restarts at least. The track is so safe there overtaking is banned!
Thankfully everyone is ok but whether those cars will be repaired that’s a 50/50 especially with that amount of damage.
Why is there even a wall on that inside, put a kerb in only and make it safe!
Just like Bathurst get it wrong once ,game over
If there is oil on the track, then all the marshals and race control are numpties.
FFS. How to ruin a team/drivers weekend.
Think that raised Kerb needs to go. Three destroyed cars
Whoopsies
Farken elle!
This is crazy smh 🤦🏿♂️ come on now .
Woops $$$$$$$...
Who thought it was an awesome idea to put a raised curb on the inside of turn 8? Someone needs to lose their job.
It's a street circuit, that curb has been there since day dot years ago.
Huh? They clipped the inside wall, the kerb has always been their to my recollection.

the curb is there, they're professionals, deal with it!!!
That wall at turn 8 needs to be pushed more to the right. It’s soo stupid having it too close.
It’s not the wall there’s a Kurd on the entry. Unsettles the car if u hit it.
Fords dropping some of that 'parity oil'... 😎
I think someone spilt some diddy oil down there
Easy, slow down.
Just Restart It Tomorrow! Not Declaring It.
Chaz Was Robbed Thanks To You Race Control.
Luckily Hill & Reynolds Are Okay 👍
Lol ok Ford fanboy!!!! How was chaz robbed???
You are right WAU robbed him with the strategy not to bank a lap.
Its about the only good thing about this stupid 2 manufacturer race, as it's absolutely boring as having a crap

Those cars are weak the wheels are the first to fall off
Bring back the Holden's
These cars are terrible
Supercars is a joke for having quali so late in the day. Pathetic for the sport

So have to stop due to curfews for noise..
But the sprint cars are on now 😂😂
Why the qualy should of always been declared in that situation, no different then if it rained 5 minutes in and you didn't have a banker lap.
