The primary purpose of this video was to showcase SB19 to non-seasoned reactors. I tried to get a sample of how American students would react to an SB19 song right after they listened to their song for the first time. The result is a raw, authentic, and honest opinion of how American students would respond. Since music transcends language boundaries, showing them a Tagalog song was a non-issue. If SB19 wants to break into the American music scene, they need to listen to reactions like this one, a no-strings-attached response from ordinary Americans who have not heard of them before.
After many years of being a kpop fan and witnessing a lot of groups either lip-syncing or relying heavily on loud backtracks, watching SB19's raw live vocals is such a breath of fresh air.
Filipino singers sings impromptu they don't autotune and they prefer to sing live than lipsync. For me as Filipino, lipsync is kinda awkward to do, because we're not used to.
Yeah, the remarkable group to me when it comes to live vocals and high calibre performances is iKON, they're self produced group as well. SB19 is the first male group in PH that sounds even better live for me.

But when I dig deeper and always listen to them, and showing their hidden talents I must say that I got addicted and addicted and I'm starting to like LOVE sb19 I'm a MAHALIMA(OT7) but actually bujah/Justine was my first bias. But I don't know every single day,time,sec, minutes, tsk HIHIHI napagpapalit palit na Ako Ng bias . Kapag kasi as a Filipino na subrang mahal Yung kpop (OMYGODDDD MY HUBBYJK) para kasing hirap Ang hirap oumasok sa ppop songs kasi Yung standards or I don't know what's it called but yeah, but when you get to know them or when you always hear sb19 songs. You would really love them and be proud and regret that I didn't get to know them when actually I got addicted to kpop. I know this is a year ago so i hope that these group of kids have seen more of SB 19,or these group of kids reacting should have a sing and dance challenge with SB 19,kids, SB 19 are great live monster singers and great dancers,not sure if one of you can break a move..😅
Unless these students truly understand the complexity of of music and dancing that’s the only way they will appreciate these without subtitles and to remind them that the dances are to keep in mind that they sing live despite dancing very well 🥰

So many talented singers all over the world and the Philippines is one of those known very talented singers in the world period ….SB19 opened a history of the world of their group for years now and getting more recognized by international countries . They have been touring all over the world and their concert is always sold out …. Also the Philippines second language is English. About half of their music is in English too … Am so so proud of their story and people just never really finds out what they went through before they got really famous.. Having these students watch live performances was a good idea because their skills are more highlighted. The only disadvantage, of course, is that there are no subtitles. “What?” Is a difficult introductory song because it’s such a complex song. I’m glad they appreciated “Tilaluha”.
It's really nice of you to introduce SB19 to them. My advice for the next videos would be that you introduce them to the MVs because it has English translations, or find a live performance video with subtitles because let's face it, people who doesn't understand the language connects with the music more if they can understand it. WYAT is the best song to introduce SB19 to foreign casuals since it's fully in a language they understand. Good luck for your next videos.
You should have shown them the What? MV instead, with subtitles. They might like the WYAT MV more because it’s in English. Also, show something like their Bazinga dance rehearsal to really show their dance skills. Musical tastes are very different here in the US. So if SB19 would delve more into genres like R&B, acoustic and indie, it would be a plus. And it would mean more to the students if they could understand what’s being sung. That’s why it’s important for SB19 to put out more songs in English, while still retaining their Filipino identity.

SB19 are all great vocalists and great songwriters as well as versatile in genres which adds to dancing and great live performers than other idol groups who are hype in making MV but vocally lacking.
The WHAT dance practice is really good, I think it’s because of the angles that were shot. And it really feels different when you understand the lyrics because you’ll realize they did an interpretative dance actually. So as a Filipino who understands the lyrics, the dance moves of WHAT are really special to me, especially the parts “Ama, salamat at ikaw ang agimat” and “Di na magpapaawat, iwagayway ang watawat”. The steps are sooooo good it actually make me emotional even though it’s not a ballad. 😅😅
