On today's video for "👀REACTION👀" segment, former K-pop trainees will react to K-pop inspired Filipino boy band SB19!!!
They have experienced the harsh K-pop training system at Korea's top record labels so we're sure they will have a lot to say about the group!!!

Almost all lyrics of the songs of SB19 are written by them. Their earliest songs had music composed by Koreans, however, since their 2021 comeback, their music has been mostly composed and written by them.

As of their comeback pagsibol, they write and produce their own song, they are very talented, they also choreographed their own dances and plan the concept for their comebacks and shows.

Just want to also clarify that although they are from a korean entertainment agency, not all the MV came from the agency's idea. Starting from What? All of the members are the ones who decided what to show on the MV.
Their maknae Justin is the creative director of the music video. Choreography by Stell which is also their MAIN VOCAL and he gained some helo from KEN which is their main dancer.
Josh is the lead rapper and PABLO the leader of the pack, is the one who produced and composed literally ALL their songs.
Hope that will also be mentioned the next time so they can also react to those facts.

UP! Also, all songs in their Pagsibol EP (What?, MAPA, Mana, Bazinga, Ikako, SLMT) were produced by a Filipino-Canadian (5 out of 6 songs) and a Filipino (for Ikako), and co-produced by SB19 leader, Pablo (not all Korean-produced, as stated in the video).

I hate how they claim that the outfits are Kpop inspired. To those who are not aware yet. Kpop is just bringing back the outfits from the 90s which was originally from the west. Oversized shirts, baggy pants, colorful outfits, it's all western 90s urban wear. Nothing about the Kpop look is uniquely Korean. Even the bowl cut, under cut, middle parted, and mullet hairstyles are all from the 90s and 80s. It's all copied.

Their first album Get In The Zone is Korean Produced, however the lyrics of the songs were written mostly by Pablo (leader of SB19).
All the songs of their comeback album Pagsibol are Filipino-Canadian and Filipino produced and all the lyrics are written by Pablo (leader of SB19).

Update, after three songs Tilaluha, Go Up, and WMIAIN, which were written by their leader Pablo, all their songs are written, composed, and produced or co-produced by them. They also make their own choreography and have creative direction on their music videos, performances, and concerts.

The management is korean. But keep in mind that after their first album.. mv's and songs are fully written by sb19 member and produced by Filipinos.
The company is Korean and some songs were produced by them also like Lee Oh-Won. All Pinoy company Pinoy Pop that is BGYO and BINI.
They saw the head producer are ALL Korean. That is a undeniable fact. Don't act like you know SB19 bc you know less than these Koreans that actually did the research. They are currently produced and managed by Koreans so I guess you learned something NEW and you cannot deny facts as much as you try.

SB19 was trained in the Philippines by the Korean Agency (ShowBT). For their Pagsibol EP, the boys make their own music, direct their own music video, write their own songs, and choreograph their own dances. They are all versatile artists who can sing, dance, and rap.

As far as I know, the most songs that they have on their first album was produced by a Korean producer during that time I wasn't a fan yet lol. Their second album called Pagsibol is mostly produced by a Filipino producer and one of the members of the group. That's when I became a big fan of them when they release their what single as their comeback . 😊
And Sejun or Pablo wrote most of the songs during those days.

Actually, since What MV, almost all of their songs and MVs are mainly produced with local and talented and homegrown production for video and music too and or with help of their fellow Filipinos abroad such as Sir Simon Servida with their music production. But the touch of Korean producers are still there like in the sound engineering or mixing. They are self-producing group, they write and started to compose their own songs, they also choreograph their songs, even direct their own music video such as the What? MV.

Ppop is under the umbrella of OPM (Original Pilipino Music). It is influenced by global pop mostly from the US, Spain/Latin America & Asia because of the history & geography that is integral to Philippine music & culture. 🤔 hmmm...while sb19's first ep was, indeed, produced by real bros and oh won lee, their second ep was produced by filipinos. all of their choreographies were done by filipinos and their music videos were directed by filipinos. the team behind them, from their stylists to their makeup artists are filipinos.
i don't know...might be just me, but the kind of information given to the trainees were a bit skewed. it led them to believe that the group's success was due to their korean training and not much else. if anyone else sees this, they would be led to believe the same.
but then, i suppose there isn't a lot of information circulating about the group in naver, and not many of the videos available on yt have hanggul captions...so i guess that probably explains why.
admittedly, though, their korean training was pretty evident during the first couple of years, but since the pandemic they've gained some autonomy over their own material and majority of what was produced during their second ep in 2021 was relatively homegrown (simon servida, who produced 5 of the 6 tracks in their 2021 ep pagsibol is filipino-canadian). most of the information shared in this video was pre-covi/d...and it's already been two years since then. much of their success could be attributed to their fans' dogged determination. these boys still have not received as much mainstream success in the philippines as other local artists, but they do have a fanbase that can fill stadiums, and they have fans from other countries, as well.
they're a strange phenomenon. there aren't many artists who've gained fame and influence the way they have. and there have been many boy groups in the philippines before them, but they're the only group that actually had this kind of reception. before them, local boy groups were mostly scoffed at.
if i'd draw parallels with a korean group...not for comparison but for better understanding...it wouldn't be b/t/s. it would be seo taiji & the boys. they're determined enough to break into and change the philippine music landscape, hence their name, 'sound break 19' (strange why 'sb' wasn't even explained in this video, just '19') and true enough, because of them, many production companies here had the courage to invest in boy and girl groups again. we have yet to see how these groups succeed though.
there were a series of events that led up to their viral dance practice video in 2019 that's worth looking into...
most fan interactions with the members actually happen through their personal accounts. the brand accounts (the sb19 official accounts) on different platforms are mostly only used for announcements and other brand content, but they do personally interact with their fans. so the best way to really get to know them is to look into their personal sns accounts.

Thanks you for the reaction. But I want to clarify things and also give credits to SB19. They compose their songs , choreograph and produce, even creative director in their MV (you should check their song WHAT MV behind the scene).

SB19 are talented group they even perform in korea before singing TROT. Now, They are not under ShowBT korean entertainment anymore. They made their own LABEL which is 1Z ENTERTAINMENT.
