Merry Christmas Ian- Here in NY they use a bucket of Hot tar and a mop. I always wondered how standing water affects a roof that is flat. Great stuff! 😃👍
Same as system we used many years back John , but that dries and cracks eventually , I think dodgy pikey roofers still use this method here ... Merry Christmas .
Love cromopol i use it on a flat roof grey started 3 years ago i now have a new acrylic roof remember to mixed it u warm the tin up in a mop bucket with hot water
How you doing Ian? I did something similar on a felt roof on the side of my house. That was probably 3 years ago. I repeated the process about a year after the first coat and it's been fine since. Well worth the temporary repair if you can get a few extra years out of it. I used Bitumen emulsion from Wickes. Can't remember the brand though.
Hi Phil. Long time no speak. Hope you're doing well mate. Like you, I'm gonna put some more on the roof, to double down on the coverage. I was waiting for better weather, so I could do all the joints. I guess with 70 - 80 degrees all this week, I should be cracking on with it ASAP. Before the rain comes back. As you say, it should be good for a few more years. Cheers mate,.
Excellent! Thanks, I couldn't convince my wife to spend our savings on a new roof covering for our garage (my office) but at the same time I don't want the water to get in next winter (it started coming in the one just gone..) Cheers for this!
You're welcome my friend. Put a couple of thickish applications on and you should be good for a few years more yet. Please remember to subscribe to my channel and watch a few of my other videos, for more helpful advice.
It's just a holding repair that might give a couple of years grace but once leaking, you need to think about a more wholesale solution. Cheers Joblogs.
Hi ian meery christmas ,as you mentioned you have a torch i think id have ebayed for some roll off cuts of torch on felt or a second quality roll itself and used that instead ( always seens to be some on the a127) as ive nevervtrusted any if the repair tins myself , theyll end up expandinging and contracting at different rates than the felt itself and end up leaking again at some point .
I’m not 100% sure the leak is from my roof. If these repairs solve the issue, I’ll do a more robust repair, which will probably involve torching on strips of elastomeric let, to do as you say, give a better repair. Merry Christmas Jim.

Are you saying you heat it up before using it?
