I would be nice to organise a meeting with GR(MN) owners! I'll definitely attend. I have 117/400 in my garage. Nice to see the car get some more well-deserved attention, it's a hidden gem.
With the car off - press in the e-brake and the brake, start the car, release the e-brake and press it 3 times leaving it in on the third, then release the brake and do the same, then release the e-brake and repeat the same once more and traction control is going to be FULLY disabled. This works in every Toyota made vehicle
@@Porkycheun it definitely is annoying but I’ve heard Toyota was able to give people lower insurance rates on high horsepower cars because they stated “You can’t fully turn off traction control” but they left that in there for us all :)
My first new car was the first gen Yaris T-Sport on Yokohama's, 960 Kilo's, 105 HP from a 1.5L. also a diff in the front. What a blast, my fuel consumption was around 9 liters and the Yokohama's lasted less then 20000 kilometers, no tracks :) Newer Yaris got added weight, a 1.8L and 0-100 slower... so I never considered buying a later version, but this GRMN Yaris rox, nice car you got !
Have a mk1 1.3vvti yaris on lowering springs and yokohama advan fleva v701:) Great car! Would love to own the 1.5l version bc even the 1.3l drives very good!
hey misha, i think there is a "pedal dance" to fully disable the ESP on the GRMN. It´s a shame that you couldnt test it like that, for what i´ve heard it´s a really fast fwd hothatch.
There is! Barely anyone knows about said pedal dance but it’s a godsend! It works in literally every single toyota/Lexus vehicle including my Lexus IS350
One of my GoPro cameras kept failing with SanDisk Extreme Pro SD cards. Since switching to the white Samsung Evo cards I've not had one SD card error. If you want more info message me and I'll get the exact details of the cards I now have.

I was fortunate enough to drive one of the Toyota South Africa press cars a while back. Such an awesome little car. Light, responsive and a lot of fun. I prefer it to the GR Yaris.
it is lowered from factory for 3cm, with 3.4kg/m springs and it has SACHS performance dampers, suspension is perfectly tuned in this car. no work needed, it needs semi slicks and -2.5 camber in front.
I'm sure it is to do with the YAW Rate Sensor. You can switch this off usually. I know the Corolla T Sport just needs a fuse pulling, but they all do it. I get this a little in the Vitz TRD Turbo M. Lovely motor!
Have no 346/400. Curious if anyone knows what iduction kit is swapped in this car? Cant find any info on it. The factory spec one means you can barely hear the supercharger
GRMN stands for Gazoo Racing, Masters of the Nurburgring (or Nordschleife {sp}) so its a turned up version of the regular Yaris. The GR Yaris is much closer to the WRC car in driving feel I would assume.
Chassis is from 1.5 hybrid beacuse it is stiffer, downside is smaller fuel tank, so with spirite driving you will be at petrol station every 250-300km, chassis is strenghtened by rods in the bottom and strut bar, Engine is toyota 2ZR-FE 1.8l Supercharged, same engine is in Lotus Elise, but supercharged has beed redesigned to fit yaris engine bay, steering wheel and steering mechanism is from toyota GT86, unique seats, unique dashboard, catalytic convertor is from lexus, exhaust is totaly unique for this car, unique front and rear bumper, with rear spoiler, gearbox is from corrola/auris and it was strenghtned, clutch is also replaced to handle more power, car comes with really light FORGED BBS rims, rear brakes are stock, fronts are bigger not really bigger but wider by 3mm, 4 piston calipers (advics)... )275mm/25mm, fuel pump is from lexus LC, engine tuning is done by lotus, there is lotus logo on the compressor intercooler, car is beyond fun, decent fast, it comes with crappy bridgestone tires and way to little front camber... so with set of normal tires and at least -2 camber front this is a beautifull car to drive, engine is gorgeous, perfect power for the weight and good noise :)
I lapped my GRMN at the Ring a few weeks back, tbh I was massively unimpressed by it considering it was supposed to have been developed at the Nürburgring. Woefully undersprung and underdamped. And as Misha said the electronics don’t aid the handling at all. I honestly think my Mk1 1.5 T Sport engined Yaris laps quicker.
It was Toyota's first try, and it was still on the Yaris chassis, you can't expect wonders ... The GR Yaris on the other hand is a bit of a different beast.
@@MT-eb2dxI had a GR before I got the GRMN, I took the GRMN in P/ex when I sold the GR. The GR was an incredible car but as a daily I found it tiresome, all the electrickery to turn off each time you got in, I found all round vision poor and the seats were so uncomfortable. As a daily the GRMN was a better car imho, and dare I say more fun as you didn’t need to be doing silly speeds to actually have to “drive” it.
Anybody claiming the grmn is better than the GR Yaris is insane. Especially bs excuses like electronic systems. If they bother you it means you can't even keel your car on your lane, which you fail your driver's license for 🤣 (You can switch it off) Nobody ever complained about abs, isn't that cheating?🤣

bruh toyota vsc usually hold TRC button for 5sec+ or use buttons/dials in cockpit menu settings while standing still to disable radar/lane assist/etc..

When you say the Gopro gives an SD-card error and you insert a new card, do you mean a new from the the store SD card or just an empty one? SD cards have quite a low life expectancy with high data rates, so they need to be replaced regularly. Also, the speed rating needs to obviously be high enough.
Talk about good hot hatches. This is a pretty good shout. My friend has a base variant of that. A 1 litre. Its a pretty fun little hatch. Gearbox is bad (cvt) but what can you say. Its called Vitz in the JDM market.
I rented that once the Ist generation, many years ago and had to go on the highway, khi - Hyd and was in a hurry, it would max out at 110 Kms then I’d kick down and it would go to 130 Kms but change gears and back to 110 - 115 km. The Vitz has. 1.3 litre variant which is much better.

I'll never as long as I live understand why Toyota isn't putting this engine into the GT86 instead of that gutless torqueless rough engine they use now. Even the new improved engine is terrible, just a bit less than the old one used to be.
Yaris for the win..... some days I wish north Americans went such small dick pick-up truck drivers. we could have used all the sweet hot hatch Europe and other markets have gotten over the years. But nooooo we watched to much Hollywood and now we are all trying to play the cool guy roll.

High endurance cards (for dashcam use) are also a viable option.
Schmee uses Sony cameras I think. Maybe try those?
