This short story really showed how much of a sociopathic monster Luthor was. Tempt a person to abandon her moral convictions, have her make the decision to compromise them, then just leave her there in the lurch to realize that she has permanently stained her self-respect, and all so Lex could simply have the momentary fun of crippling someone's life.
