This seems like an ideal size to take with you, on a sewing retreat, as it is not too heavy.
Is this machine for thick fabric, thick corners? Or what is the best for pillow, bag making with thick fabric and maybe interfacing layers? Need to stop breaking needles!! Thanks for your videos. Great!
For thick layers on any machine, use a new sharp needle, lengthen the stitch and use the button shank plate and/or the little black button on the side of the presser foot to keep the presser foot level over the thick, bulky seams. Most machines can handle what you describe using these techniques. however, the most powerful, industrial-like machine Janome has is the HD-9, so you might want to look at that machine, as well.
How do you drop the feed dogs on the M200QDC
There's full instructions in the manual, but there's a little lever in the back free arm of the machine which lowers the feed dogs.
