I have the same genny and need to get it into a Suburban. Nice detail in the video. I was thinking along the same lines as far as mounts go. It was nice to actually see what it might look like though it will be a bit different. I'll be using a different style sling to keep the boom angle lower. Thanks for the upload.
I just bought this an hour ago to pickup a 100 lb foldable mobility scooter. I really wanted to be able to take the back seat out of F150 but it would have a few inches shy of fitting. I also have a predator 3500 generator to haul. Thanks for the extra bracket idea.

Thank you for the video Ernest! I'm looking to do the same to get my boat in the bed, and your setup is close to what I want to do. Can you advise where you bout the steel plates from? 1/4 inch aren't that easy to find by me.
I just finished installing this exact crane on my pickup truck today. One of the things you did not do is when you put it into travel mode you did not insert that clip. Now with my install I could not insert the clip because the holes did not line up! It seemed to me that it needed another set of holes on the base that is permanently mounted to the truck. Another set of holes at a 90° angle in order to pin it in place during travel mode. I was wondering what you did to solve this problem.
I also have a Ford 250 and just bought this lift. Where can I get the plates you use? I cannot create them myself. I am a housewife that will try to get someone to help me install this, but I need the same support metal plates.

Although your video is 3 years old it was great. I have the same generator. Where did you get the metal? Was it ordered? Did you cut it yourself?

How is the morning nst all holding up? Have you lifted anything really heavy with it?
The crane is holding up well. So far all I use it for is the pickup the 100lbs generator.
What is the max height over the bed?
