Half a year later: Smoke: "Wanna drive for me?" Kurt: "Sure thing, old friend, we'd make great teammates!" In all honesty, I'm a fan of both, didn't like seeing this, and loved seeing them become teammates.
I think Kurt is changing. Last year, he would have cursed out the reporter. Here, he's all smiles about a great race and finish. Even though he was upset, he contained it when it came to the media. I'm not exactly president of the Kurt Busch fan club, but he is really earning my respect.
BrokenGames Yeah me too, when he had his 2012 season I didn't think too highly of him, but he cleaned up his act and now he's winning races and he has earned some of my respect for it
Geoffrey Toussaint Yeah Kurt looked like he was heading towards a psych ward for awhile but he's a solid veteran now mentally and physically. Good for him
MCOSpotting HD against Stewarts wishes if you do your research.. It was Gene Haas the co-owner of the team that hired Busch behind Stewarts back and uses his company to sponsor him.
it dose i think that what make NASCAR NASCAR to my opinion else my dad is a big fan of kurt busch and i am a fan of logono and my mom is a fan of Burton so we have different taste of act my dad learns from kurt to not be mean because it cant get him anywhere
Why did Sealy and Serta and other mattress companies NOT jump on the 78 car all those years back….sure there were a few races but could have been so much more for a Denver Furniture / Mattress company.
Dale Sr would wreck cars in front of him whoever leads the race he puts his foot to the floor nudges em and they get out of control enough dale sr takes the win! That's why his respected and known as The Intimidator!
Let's see Stewart-Haas Racing now has two guys who don't really like Kyle Busch with Tony and Harvick, and they also have Kyle's big brother? This should be good!
"Tony Stewart is upset with Kurt Busch after the race and he let's Busch know about it." "...and he let's Busch know..." "LET'S" I expected more from the official NASCAR channel.
Hell yea man. Doesn't get much better then actually being at Talladega, that 3 hour rain delay was sorda rough tho. You got a pick for the All Star race this weekend? I'm trying to get Truex or Almirola in it with the fan vote. Call me crazy but my pick is Biffle.
That's really a product of short-track racing; I wonder if Tony Stewart even saw a replay. Kurt Busch really has taken that #78 team pretty far...another good outing for that team.
Being from Colorado, obviously I like Kurt Busch, since he's our hometown driver. I've also liked Tony ever since I started following NASCAR, because he won the first race I ever watched.
What I've noticed, and really liked, is how Kurt Busch handled the media with this. If this happened 2 years ago he would've cursed out everyone. Great progress for Kurt.
To me it seems like Tony backed out of the gas and Kurt just kept it in. If he had checked up for Tony, so he wouldn't hit him, Kenseth would've probably have hit Kurt and made him lose spots. Kurt did a good job with the media as well.
If you aren't in the top 10 in points 11-20 in the points are eligible for the two wild card spots, which the two drivers with the most wins get the 11th and 12th spot, so that's what he was talking about.
But they were really jammed up bumper to bumper like 5 cars deep when Kurt bumped Stewart out the way, kenseth closed like 2 car lengths just to punt Kurt out the way.
I'm not a Kurt Busch fan, but he did nothing wrong. That's good, hard racing and I'll give him credit for not being a douche in the interview. No hissy fit. Well composed.
There is no doubt he has matured. I think that was more because he had to if he wanted to stick around. It still seems a little too forced to me though. It's almost awkward to watch his interviews now because it seems kinda fake. haha. But you are definitely right; he did handle this the correct way.
Haha I agree, Tony would have done the same thing.. I gave some respect to Logano after that race, Do what you gotta do to win.. I also loved the fact he got into Denny there on the last lap.. Neither one wanted to give an inch.. Reminded me of some old school racing. Hated it that Denny hurt is back tho.
Hmm, I sure didn't see a fight after the race, as the title states... but it was a good watch. I'm sure back then I was spewing some choice words at Busch. LOL
Kurt understands what he needs to do for his team, he is a hell of a racer he just let his mouth and impatience control him over the years hope he sticks with the calm side he is showing this year.
"Ten laps ago this car didn't have a scratch, now it's destroyed" because you destroyed it...Also if you don't get Tony was upset then why did you run into the back of Kenseth for doing the exact same thing?
Busch haters should stop spending time bashing the Busch boys and start getting back to the races! The two have both showed signs of reformation and are now even kinder. Even Kyle Busch took responsibility for an accident at Talladega that ended up with Kevin Harvick. No doubt he would be unsure about apologizing to KH in 2011 if it happened but you must admit they have reformed and now can we get back to the races for a dang change?
Alright alright alright.. It comes down to this, I love both drivers they both bring a twist to the sport and are both awesome drivers with incredible talent.. I do feel that if Kurt had a better ride he would have some more wins.. Can you agree with that? No doubt he has anger issues but its pretty funny as a fan to listen to the rants. Tony has his rants every now and then too.
Not only is he matured but he is become likable! One day in the media center (I think in Charllotte) he had the whole room laughing. This is the first time since he left Roush Racing I can honestly say I hope Busch goes to victory lane.
All Kurt Busch did here was the bump and run---typical short-track racing. Losing his ride at Penske really humbled Kurt a lot, and he's having a pretty good season at Furniture Row this year (14th in the standings right now, 13 points behind Jeff Gordon---another driver who has had hard luck this season---for 10th place)
No kidding. I wouldn't say he has finally stopped, but it seems like he is starting to be a bit more low key from the media in general which is a good plan.
I think it's just frustration for how bad his season is going. I have an idea for Tony, get rid of Danica. Anyone notice that any team that Danica has driven for has had a major performance dropoff? This was also the case in IndyCar.
I like how Menard bumps them at the pit entrance, as if to say, "Knock it off."
Me are never bumped them they came down on him
@AA-ronPlayz having a stroke?
I think nascar learned their lesson with putting smoke on the mic after a confrontation LOL
There's never a dull moment when Tony Stewart is around
Half a year later:
Smoke: "Wanna drive for me?"
Kurt: "Sure thing, old friend, we'd make great teammates!"
In all honesty, I'm a fan of both, didn't like seeing this, and loved seeing them become teammates.
***** Team Hothead
***** the scorpion stewart loves those deep rectums
+Emil Borchert Lol that wasn't Tony's decision, that was all Gene Haas.
you're life is obviously miserable only thing you do is say bad stuff about smoke
Richard Geiger you are full of shit
Now Kurt just calls him "Boss Man" lol
I think Kurt is changing. Last year, he would have cursed out the reporter. Here, he's all smiles about a great race and finish. Even though he was upset, he contained it when it came to the media. I'm not exactly president of the Kurt Busch fan club, but he is really earning my respect.

Geoffrey Toussaint Yeah Kurt looked like he was heading towards a psych ward for awhile but he's a solid veteran now mentally and physically. Good for him
Yeah he is a robot now. Never seems genuine.
Oh the irony, now they are teammates.
uh huh
Not anymore
"Fight" must have a very different meaning to me.
Kurt has definitely matured, I've never seen him this respectful during an interview, plus he skipped the fight question to avoid any issues/drama.
I didn't see a fight
And the next season, they became team mates..
the fight and it's participants in general show how passionate they are to race.... i love this
Teammates now..............
MCOSpotting HD against Stewarts wishes if you do your research.. It was Gene Haas the co-owner of the team that hired Busch behind Stewarts back and uses his company to sponsor him.
Aaron Zevgolis tony wasn't against kurt coming over, he just didn't think the timing to build a fourth team by 2014 was there
+Pidgeot it's definitely there now
Stewart the boss of Kurt Busch.
I doesn't matter who did what and when. Tempers will flare at races. It's part of the deal. I like it. keeps it interesting.
it dose i think that what make NASCAR NASCAR to my opinion else my dad is a big fan of kurt busch and i am a fan of logono and my mom is a fan of Burton so we have different taste of act my dad learns from kurt to not be mean because it cant get him anywhere
Why did Sealy and Serta and other mattress companies NOT jump on the 78 car all those years back….sure there were a few races but could have been so much more for a Denver Furniture / Mattress company.
Car is sweet, I was at Darlington and Talladega the past couple weekends, awesome racing. That Dega finish was incredible.
Dale Sr would wreck cars in front of him whoever leads the race he puts his foot to the floor nudges em and they get out of control enough dale sr takes the win! That's why his respected and known as The Intimidator!
Silence!!!
It was Gene Haas's idea to add him SHR.
Kurt was runnin top 5 most of the night, got cycled by on the last round of pits, hopefully he's in the hunt when they go back to Richmond
"we gotta go for wins, that's how we'll make the chase"
*makes chase in top 10 based on points*
Let's see Stewart-Haas Racing now has two guys who don't really like Kyle Busch with Tony and Harvick, and they also have Kyle's big brother? This should be good!
And how Ironic that these two will be teammates next year after all the altercations they've had over the years
I can't wait for next season with the New look Stewart-Haas Racing team
"Tony Stewart is upset with Kurt Busch after the race and he let's Busch know about it."
"...and he let's Busch know..."
"LET'S"
I expected more from the official NASCAR channel.
how in the hell are these two gonna be teammates?
I don't know but it ain't gonna be fucking easy
again my question they are doing well so far but never know
I'm from the future, it actually turns out nicely
In 2013, they fought... 2014, teammates... 2015, friends... Friend life!
lol
+potatoe guy (mrchickenslapper)
They had some stories early
Back in 2007 through 2008
#friendship
I can't believe they were rivals that day and now they're teammates?
Hell yea man. Doesn't get much better then actually being at Talladega, that 3 hour rain delay was sorda rough tho. You got a pick for the All Star race this weekend? I'm trying to get Truex or Almirola in it with the fan vote. Call me crazy but my pick is Biffle.
What a fighter racer! we don't want those guys as he killed Kevin ward in 2014
They weren't fighting, they were negotiating Kurt's contract for this year.
This is what the media was hoping for in March 1979 at Richmond after the Allison-Yarborough incident at Daytona and then at Rockingham.
This is why you never mess with Tony!
Busch vs. Stewart, now there'd be a fight to see.
That's really a product of short-track racing; I wonder if Tony Stewart even saw a replay. Kurt Busch really has taken that #78 team pretty far...another good outing for that team.
Kurt isn't signed under Stewart. He's signed under Haas. .-.

Rough season so far, hopefully he'll turn it around this week!
Especially the way he reacts when people block him
If you aren't in the top 10 in points 11-20 in the points are eligible for the two wild card spots, which the two drivers with the most wins get the 11th and 12th spot, so that's what he was talking about.
That was all Gene Hass. Tony knew nothing about it.
Less than 1 lap earlier Kurt used his bumper to move Tony Stewart out of the way , but is upset when Kenseth does it to him.
Is this honestly what passes for a fight in NASCAR these days? You gotta be kidding me...
There is no doubt he has matured. I think that was more because he had to if he wanted to stick around. It still seems a little too forced to me though. It's almost awkward to watch his interviews now because it seems kinda fake. haha. But you are definitely right; he did handle this the correct way.
What A Fight Against Kurt Busch And Tony Stewart
GaMES
How did they fight
Consider one word,OPINION
I was expecting them to both go get their purses and slug it out.
OK.......... so now Stewart and Kurt Busch are racing together on the same team how did Stewart get him on that team when they are rivals
It was different.
Kurt gave Kenseth a little tap just to say "Hey man I didn't like that".
Tony sent the same message but ran Kurt into the wall.
Who I really feel bad for is Paul Menard getting hit on the cool down lap.
Love it when Kurt says, IT WAS A FREE FOR ALL DUDE CALM DOWN, GOD
Hmm, I sure didn't see a fight after the race, as the title states... but it was a good watch. I'm sure back then I was spewing some choice words at Busch. LOL
So you don't see them shoving each other after the race?
Kurt understands what he needs to do for his team, he is a hell of a racer he just let his mouth and impatience control him over the years hope he sticks with the calm side he is showing this year.
"Ten laps ago this car didn't have a scratch, now it's destroyed" because you destroyed it...Also if you don't get Tony was upset then why did you run into the back of Kenseth for doing the exact same thing?
Good Job Kurt you wised up a lil bit from last year and the year before
Marcos Ambrose said NASCAR is harder, and where did he come from...?
Now that tony owns his own car I think he is realizing how much his temper tantrums cost.
And now they are on the same team. Should be interesting.
Busch haters should stop spending time bashing the Busch boys and start getting back to the races! The two have both showed signs of reformation and are now even kinder. Tony has his rants every now and then too.
lol. Not in this case. Nascar tried to interview Tony but he already got on his golf cart and left.
WHAT??? These are you two favorite drivers?
That awkward moment when your two favorite drivers fight...
Kurt and Kyle are new people man. Love em both.
Not only is he matured but he is become likable! One day in the media center (I think in Charllotte) he had the whole room laughing. This is the first time since he left Roush Racing I can honestly say I hope Busch goes to victory lane.
Same here
You are so true. Things happen.
Kurts really changed. Hope he does well in 2014
Tony has a target on his back. First Joey now Kurt
now they are going to be teammates!
Finally someone who knows what they are talking about
All Kurt Busch did here was the bump and run---typical short-track racing. Losing his ride at Penske really humbled Kurt a lot, and he's having a pretty good season at Furniture Row this year (14th in the standings right now, 13 points behind Jeff Gordon---another driver who has had hard luck this season---for 10th place)
i love going to Richmond
WHAT FIGHT?
obviously tony didnt really have a say in hiring Kurt with their history even when tony was in the #20
No kidding. I wouldn't say he has finally stopped, but it seems like he is starting to be a bit more low key from the media in general which is a good plan.
Welcome to the team buddy
He probably at least year contract, and if he does how he has done with Furniture Row, I doubt Tony would dare sack him.
Danica will hear it all,i suspect
I was looking for a physical fight, not playing fender tag.
I think tony needs a hug.
I think it's just frustration for how bad his season is going. I have an idea for Tony, get rid of Danica. Anyone notice that any team that Danica has driven for has had a major performance dropoff? This was also the case in IndyCar.
lol at Menard! 0:19
Now these guys are on the same team. Uh oh
I don't think Kurt will care about any of this when Tony starts signing his paychecks...
If Stewart & Busch wanna fight, let them
and now thre gonna be teammates next year!
and next year he has a contract with Stewart Haas Racing that's strange
I like seeing fights after a race....lol
So... Where's the fight?
If Steward and Busch wanna beat the hell outta each other, let them
Plenty of empty seats at the race, they should be worrying about that.
Weren’t they teammates before this? And I thought it was kyle Busch...
Hey and now they're teammates its such a small world.
Ok, so where was the fight as described, click bait!
that awkward moment when he'll be your boss next season. they always hated each other, i'm going to have a good laugh next season
