Great review Thomas. Thank you. I like the car and e-power system very much, but we have to admit it is good in some areas, not everywhere. I will try to detail. This is a fantastic car for medium sized trips, with moderate speed and good occasions for recuperation, like urban driving, uphill - downhill driving etc. In other situations it will consume more than hybrid cars from Toyota, for example. Where does not perform well e-power system? In very small towns, where your trips are very short. In these situations no car is performing well, even if it is hybrid or petrol only. Because the gas engine needs to warm up and it will consume more initial, and when it will be warm, you will end your trip, and the consumption will remain big. So in this case is the gas engine's fault for big consumption. Other situation: on the highway, because the electric motor, used for traction, "suffer" at high speeds and consumes a lot of energy, this will be provided by the gas engine. That one is warmed up and efficient in this case, but it's for nothing, because it's the electric motor's fault for big consumption. That's why Honda's hybrid system allows gas engine to connect directly to the wheels in some situations. That is a more efficient setup, but it's more complex. The e-power system has no gearbox, but Honda's system has a sort of (even not a traditional one). Conclusion: if you live in a big city and make medium-sized trips at moderate speeds, e-power is excellent. If you use it only for short trips or only for highway trips, you must look elsewere. You can use this system even in these situations, of course, but it will not be at it's optimum working regime.

Interestingly, Japanese car makers often get their names from Persians. For example, Mazda derived its name from Ahura Mazda, a Persian god. Or the name "Qashqai" in the Nissan Qashqai derives from the Qashqai people living in southwestern Iran. I wonder what makes them so interested!
@@w7class Mazda's official website mentions that its brand name comes from the God of the ancient Persian religion, Zorostorian, called Ahura Mazda. Given that the Persians ruled from India to Egypt in ancient times, variations of Ahura Mazda might exist across Asia, especially in West Asia, but its origin is 100% Persian/Zorostorian.
Big plus for the really nice redesign and genuine animal leather seats! Finally looks like a proper evolution of the J11 Qashqai. The previous J12 design looked like a step down.
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment. You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at th-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/w-d-xo.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. I'm sorry but 10 seconds to 100 in 2024 is a huge no-go, such an embarrassment. And it doesn't have that fuel efficiency to justify such low performance.
@@brownhairydog6472 its not about top speed, its about being able to accelerate. That 10 seconds to 100 number is measured in perfect conditions with one person inside, you put three more people, some luggage, turn on air conditioner and 10 seconds becomes 20 or even more, this is EXTREMELY dangerous when overtaking on any intercity road, car just becomes unpredictable.
@@AlexeyProgramming not sure it turns into 20 seconds. Not sure how old you are but just 20 years ago high performance cars were 7sec 0-100km and everything else was deemed adequate. Electric cars and turbo everything has warped our sense of need.
@@brownhairydog6472 it actually turns, the less power car has the more struggle it gets when accelerating at high speeds. 7 seconds to 100 car is much more performant at high speeds during overtake and less affected by extra weight. You also dont seem to be aware of power curves of diesel/petrol engines comparing to pure electric. Electric cars have struggles at high speeds, low power electric cars are much much worse at speeds beyond 70-90, and you have no way to downshift to bring in more torque and power at higher rpms like in combustion engine cars. And this particular nissan doesnt even have combustion engine drivetrain support like lexuses have when you need extra power. I’d say low powered combustion engine cars are dangerous when overtaking, but this one is just barely usable on a highway.
Huge new shape grill , great insect trap , made in england Sunderland, why show it off in Portugal first. ? 😢 Does portugal a have a historic iconic place in the world of motor vehicles or even have a actual Portuguese car brand ? , i am waiting . No didnt think so .
Nissan still is pushing its solution with those heavy split boot floor sections - what we are supposed to do with them in the lower setting? Leave at home I guess... Also other manufacturers are moving away from heavy parcel shelf in favor of a lightweight material one. Otherwise it looks good but I think biggest drawback is when driving at motorway speeds the fuel consumption is terrible. Oh yeah and the marketing saying its an EV that doesn't need to be plugged in... Nissan seems to be taking steps toward the dark side with this :/

Thanks my friend! According to my info Alcantara is supplier.
Please include in all your reviews if the car has double laminated glass in the front doors. For me its no buy if it hasn't.
Thomas the Nissan beside you seem very small 😅
I call it the NIssan Cash Cow!
Alternative with better fuel consumption ->>> #HondaZRV #HondaCRV
Looks like a mazda now.
Hyundai to me.
And mazda will be 10 times more reliable
@@descarroll2039 really? I didn’t know Nissan has reliability issues. Are “e-power” versions bad too?
It's strange seeing a Nissan with no body damage and actual license plates
If it's not available in America, why can I see this video? They are just tempting me.😕
Outside looks great but interior looks very dated
Nice facelift, but unfortunately they haven't changed the hellishly uncomfortable seat backs as part of the changes, so it's a 'no' from me.
Front view looks more like Chery’s thats a shame
The Rogue Sport name was only in the US and it is no longer.
Indeed
Why after 2020 cars become too expensive ? i didn't found logical reason
Own nothing, eat bugs, 15 minutes cities: agenda 2030
But alas, it won't be available in the North American market. Nissan chose to "upsize" the Kicks model and sell the larger Rogue instead.
Indeed
It's what Toyota should have been.
👏
bit like Venom, the front
Design, An armored Daewoo Atoz
Why nobody is talking about reliability (motor, gear box, electronics,…) and real warranty? At least our Qq 2018 was failing once a year
What ? 3 cylinder ? 😦😨🤯😣
The engine is only used as a generator to recharge the battery. It does not drive the wheels at all. So there is no need for the engine to be bigger.
What's wrong with a 3 cylinder engine that is only used as a generator?
6:10 dropped a frame
It looks nice but Toyota is better
And more expensive!
And 10 times more reliable
You can't even get an electric tilt and slide sunroof even as an option.....no thanks
I think this car hates to be driven in mountains because of charger.
Soo apparently BMW has a huge grill ...Yea i see hes unique in that 😅
日本で発売しないかなー
I'm sorry but 10 seconds to 100 in 2024 is a huge no-go, such an embarrassment. And it doesn't have that fuel efficiency to justify such low performance.
Agree that's slow but realistically cars have more performance than they can ever use except for Germany. More and more speed cameras and penalties.
Most days on my way to work I never get over 60mph so much traffic!
Front sucks, not looking solid Suv anymore, toomuch weak decorations.
Huge new shape grill , great insect trap , made in england Sunderland, why show it off in Portugal first. ? 😢 Does portugal a have a historic iconic place in the world of motor vehicles or even have a actual Portuguese car brand ? , i am waiting . No didnt think so .
Caus of weather
Hopefully this one is not 80k
Front design is not nice now at all , has lost its previous character that’s disappointing.
It looked better before
Shitty car - not reliable...you will lose a lot of money over time
There are still many almeras on the roads with as much as 400-450k kms in their odometer.....
Oh ja Nissan, wie zit er niet op te wachten met zijn ''autogefuul''
B
Nissan still is pushing its solution with those heavy split boot floor sections - what we are supposed to do with them in the lower setting? Leave at home I guess... Also other manufacturers are moving away from heavy parcel shelf in favor of a lightweight material one. Otherwise it looks good but I think biggest drawback is when driving at motorway speeds the fuel consumption is terrible. Oh yeah and the marketing saying its an EV that doesn't need to be plugged in... Nissan seems to be taking steps toward the dark side with this :/
What legs on the girl?
Her own, probably.
@@AHoundOnAHonda😂
Nissan is trying to look like Lexus 😂
Lexuses have avantgarde interiors, this is not the case here...
And lexus have supreme reliability...this thing will cause trouble after 2 years at least
Looks a little Peugeot-y
No, 3008 has a hell of a spacecraft digital AI interior!.. 😁😁
Yeah practical and all...but still too boring
