Good reaction again. This song leans a long way towards the pop end of the BABYMETAL sliding scale, so for me it had to sink in and grow and I have liked it more and more each time I listened to it.
The live audio has the Kami Band's instrumentals a bit more prominent than the studio version instrumentals, so that slides it a little bit further in the other direction on the sliding scale.
I agree Su's voice has matured nicely. I don't think I would tire of hearing her sing. Such a beautiful clear and powerful voice! Welcome back to BabyMetal.

As an eyewitness of this song performed 3 times at the venue, I guarantee that the real live audio with Kami Band had more power and heaviness to stir your feelings more. (twice by East Kamis and once by West Kamis)
High and low undulation of Su's voice with maturity and sharp moves by Moa and Momoko disordered my emotions 😱. This live footage is from January 29 Makuhari show by Su-Metal, Moametal and Momoko Avenger. On April 2 in Yokohama, new trio with official 3rd girl, Momometal, performed this song. The new era has begun and I was honored to be one of the audience that memorial day 😍

Glad to see you're back with more BM songs and enjoying this new BM sound not so many people are getting what is all about, and complaining about not being so heavy and whatnot, luckily the last single Mirror Mirror and some new songs from the album already release will fill that need, just wait to see the official MV like this but during one of the latest concerts at PIA Arena MM past weekend.
L&D is another great pop rock ballad with beautiful SuMetal vocals piercing into our hearts. Love the J-pop sound from 2000 and the nostalgic vibes mixed with the edm sound. Here's some info about this song:

BabyMetal made their inaugural appearance on the TH-cam channel The First Take where famous artists are invited to perform a song of theirs in ONLY ONE TAKE. Raw vocals, no editing auto tune and if a mistake is made it airs as is. They performed a piano version of Monochrome and in my opinion (and it appears everyone else’s) Suzuka and Moa killed it.
On April 1 at their concert in Yokohama it was announced that Momoko Okazaki will be the new third member of BabyMetal. She deserves it.
Su is so very special. Su is the Queen of Metal. I've never heard a bad Babymetal song, ever. So glad you're taking on these bad-ass women and the Kami Band of course. Thank you Verdy.

"Light and Darkness" is way outside my alley musically but few listens later the song grew on me until it hit me emotionally, probably because of Su's magnificent vocals. Later I was able to identify some cool aspects about the songwriting like unexpected notes and that cool "fake drop" and it's awesome! And yeah "I don't think I will ever get tired of hearing her voice" I can't agree more! I define myself as an addict to her singing voice. She could sing the phone book and I would be in. 😁

You know you’re digging it when you’re almost halfway through and then “I’m gonna bring that back” 😂
After listening to their latest album and reading their latest interview airticles, I see that they (Su-) have tried different ways of singings or something new in this new album. But it is not new, and they have done those things in the past. For example, in this song, they have said that they tried a song with a kind of sensual lyrics, and the words are dense in the lyrics and was quite hard for Su- to do breathings in singing.

The genre of this song is not so much J-pop as it is a '歌謡曲(ka yo u kyo ku)' from an older period.
The choreography is in line with the lyrics, so learning a few simple Japanese words may add to the fun😚
For example, 強く(tsu yo ku) is strongly.
