Yup, one thing that is consistent in all these videos with hellcats and demons is people who even drive cars for a living have a hard time getting them to hook up right. Hell, even if you watch those illegal drag racing videos, they routinely get smoked off the line because they can't hook up.
@BLACKVIEW USA And I doubt that Tesla put in amazing motors which are just held back by software. Heck I even doubt that the hardware is capable of stage 5 self driving. Some Tesla fanboys are just ridiculous.

@@levitrevisan2834 nothing. I think electric cars are really nice for daily use and just going from place to place. But when it comes to performance, electric cars don’t have the same emotional and interactive experience that non-electric cars have. This makes many people not as interested in them.
it would have been awesome in a roll race at the drag strip. A 40 roll would be interesting, I think at 40 the Hellcat would still struggle a bit with wheel-spin but would catch up nicely to the Tesla.

Trackhawk vs model Y next. A rwd nearly 800hp muscle car clearly won’t ever be able to match awd it’s not even fair because your not even getting enough heat in the tires. It’s more fair to put a suv that hits 3.5 every launch then a rwd muscle car that slides and hits 60 in 5 seconds cuz no traction then it’s over because there’s no space to catch up

I was hooked and traded in my great sounding Gt 350 for the more practical Model Y performance. No regrets.
A streetcar that can't launch properly just sucks out of the factory. So it needs to get prepped making it unfair. Like, you don't compare a prepped car vs a no-prep car. Prepped=at least tires but usually also a bit of suspensions and a stabilizer.

You take that electric Tesla and you put it against a 2000 horsepower drag Mustang or a 4000 horsepower funny car. You're going to get the paint peeled off of that Tesla. There is no replacement for displacement!

@@robd1859 You're right. But why would you want an EV to sound like a slow, inefficient vehicle?
@@robd1859 Rob, did you really just try to prove you're better than someone else by telling them that an unmodified Tesla will never be as fast as a ridiculously modified Mustang or a professional dragster?

You may have missed an interesting opportunity. The hellcat engine consumes 1.5gallons per minute at WOT. Which one of these vehicles would be drained first after repeated runs?
And after a 2 minute pitstop to refuel both, which one would be drained in the second round?
Hellcat would loose that one too!! Lol
@@ReimerKeith A Tesla can replenish 16 miles a minute on a supercharger at 250Kw. That means you only need to plug in for ~22 seconds to replenish what it used per race. That means the Tesla will be filled before you finish paying to even start the pump on the Hellcat.
@@Bryan46162 Perhaps. But I suspect that max acceleration quarter miles consume more than a normal quarter mile of battery. Assuming there is a supercharger at the drag strip.
You'll burn up the Tesla battery and/or motor before the Hellcat uses up 20 gallons of fuel.

To go fast in the Hellcat you need to know how to hook up an ICE drive train and that takes a lot of practice, a serious skill set.
I learned to drive in a truck with no synchromesh and I can double declutch like a wizard. I can also do Morse code but, unfortunately, neither have any practical application any more. It's frustrating getting old and watching skill sets become redundant but, on the other hand, there are compensations. I can have superior acceleration in an EV every time and I've got a smart phone.

The point is the EV will win nearly every time because it’s an inherently consistent setup.
Yup, one thing that is consistent in all these videos with hellcats and demons is people who even drive cars for a living have a hard time getting them to hook up right. Hell, even if you watch those illegal drag racing videos, they routinely get smoked off the line because they can't hook up.
The Tesla is consistent because it is not pushing its limits. When other cars catch up Tesla will release updates that release more potential.
Except for when the petrol gets up to 130 then the other car will overtake
Well an E 63 S is also a consistent setup. Consistency wasn't really the point of the Hellcat.
@BLACKVIEW USA And I doubt that Tesla put in amazing motors which are just held back by software. Heck I even doubt that the hardware is capable of stage 5 self driving. Some Tesla fanboys are just ridiculous.

I hate those quiet automatic nerdmobile Teslas.
What is fun about driving a car that's quiet. The whole point of having a muscle car is so it looks and sounds like it has that much power. It's all about the appearance the performance is just icing on the cake
Trackhawk vs model Y next. A rwd nearly 800hp muscle car clearly won’t ever be able to match awd it’s not even fair because your not even getting enough heat in the tires. It’s more fair to put a suv that hits 3.5 every launch then a rwd muscle car that slides and hits 60 in 5 seconds cuz no traction then it’s over because there’s no space to catch up
Even if the Tesla were to be faster than a stock Hellcat if you put that damn thing against a 1,000 horsepower Hellcat. I can assure you that Tesla ain't even going to come close. And besides most cars on a drag strip especially funny cars are pumping anywhere from 2,000 to upwards of 4,000 plus horsepower at the wheels. Tesla's nothing but a garbage golf cart with doors. Emissions: look at the orange smog in the horizon, diesel truck owners who think it's cool to purposely belch out black smoke. Try standing in the pit area of a top fuel dragster. This country generates over 200 million gallons of used motor oil per year that is disposed of improperly in landfills, sewers, and the ocean. These facts alone proves ICE vehicles are obsolete. We won't even discuss the pollution generated by refining oil into gasoline, transporting fuel. And speaking of batteries, what happens to the used batteries we dispose of every day?
@@lvlionsfan5492 yes they are more efficient in the long term. However to make EVs is quite emissions.... Filling.
@@lvlionsfan5492 Well, electric cars are not as efficient as you think, gas cars emit 6-7 metric tons from factory, as for example, an average car like a toyota corolla or honda civic emit 270 grams per mile, average miles driven in gas car is 13,500, gas cars emit 3.6 metric tons a year, average to keep a car is 6 years, gas cars emit 28.6 metric tons during its life time including factory emissions, electric cars like tesla model 3 averages 13 metric tons from factory, tesla model 3 has 264 miles mid range, emits 85 kg per kwh, battery size is 65 kwh, tesla model 3 emits 300 grams per mile inside these coal powerplants, that means model 3 emits 4 metric tons each year, which would mean 37 metric tons in 6 years in total including factory emissions.

Over 30 years of owning nothing but rwd v8's. Most of them modified. Never the slightest interest in owning anything other than a v8 (no matter how many turbos you stick on it). This past weekend I took a trip from LA to Vegas and decided to rent a Tesla Model Y. Never driven or even rode in a hybrid or EV before. Well, after living with that Tesla over the weekend I am SOLD. Aside from all the cool features and technology inside the car, that instant full torque is something I will NEVER get tired of. The Model Y I rented wasn't a "Performance" model, and it was clear the car is completely neutered off the line. From 15-20 mph and above though that thing SNAPS. I can't even image what the Performance version or the Model 3 and S must feel like.

It’s annoying to know these Teslas can go insanely fast but you never experience that out in the wild. I always have to keep passing them on my commute. It’s like they are always limping along.😄
I have a Y performance and I limp along also. I don’t accelerate from the light to fast because it makes my brain wonky! I thought the mustangs I owned (8) of the them ( 04 cobra, 2012 Boss 302 , 03 Mach 1 and 2017 Gt 350 just to name a few had good acceleration. Then I test drove the model 3 performance and model y performance and I was amazed how fast and hard they accelerate! I was hooked and traded in my great sounding Gt 350 for the more practical Model Y performance. No regrets.
did i see a 4runner at the drag strip.. as a 4runner owner i had to snicker at that a bit lol
You need DR’s if you’re going to actually race a Redeye. Those street tires are pointless on a car like that.
A streetcar that can't launch properly just sucks out of the factory. So it needs to get prepped making it unfair. Like, you don't compare a prepped car vs a no-prep car. Prepped=at least tires but usually also a bit of suspensions and a stabilizer.
