That umbrella idea IS FREAKING GENIUS! As you were laying out the bolt holes I’m thinking, “ he just cleaned out and sealed that tank and now he’s going to get metal shavings in it”? Then, POOF, the umbrella hack ! Brilliant, just brilliant!! ( genuflecting here )

I live in Norway's capital of rain...... and this is the first time I've ever seen an umbrella put to good use. That umbrella _ _ _ _ _ _ died a hero. May it rest in pieces (and shavings)

I think it's an Irwin 52-2 1982 since it's a cutter rig. There's an Irwin 52 ketch, with the mainmast forward of the cabintop; this one goes thru the cabintop.. The hull portlight count distinguishes it from the 46. Nice work on the forecabin.

I actually selected the woven cloth I used for the same reason. Came out silky smooth with no texture at all. Of course, just about all of it comes down to proper technique and application, I think, but the additional red filler make the final product look as though there was never any damage.

What is the name of this marina again? When you were walking down the dock I saw that they have the same light house style power hookups that we have at Clemson Marina... I need some new bulbs for a few of mine, but unfortunately the lighthouses and parts are now discontinued, and I can't find the bulbs anywhere. They're some sort of crazy led bulbs.... Perhaps I could call them and see if they have a parts supplier for them.
