According to the MPAA rating system, a PG-13 movie can typically only include one use of the "F-word" and it must not be used in a sexual context; using it more than once or in a sexual way would usually result in an R rating. Interesting that a review would receive an R rating, reviewing a movie in which the most foul word used is "freakin". For future reference you do not have to blank the word fetch or flip. Fun poking aside, My take on the movie is that it is a metaphor for the last days. Mr. Reed says he is going to make a claim that sorry to say may make them want to die. He points out that billions have played monopoly but only a fraction finish it. pointing to the bible, says may remind you of something else. Read the book of Revelation ch 13 on, then watch the movie again. Everyone will have to make a choice to accept a control system in which they will have to worship the image of the beast or be put to death. The women in the cages are symbolic of those that choose to worship the image. The sister missionaries, like all that choose to believe in Jesus, are beheaded. There are a number of subtle references that support this take that I'll leave you the pleasure of finding.
You were doing so well until you had to hang up about the coming back as a butterfly thing. You do realize that Mormons have individual beliefs, right? Just because something isn’t doctrine held up by every single member doesn’t mean that individuals don’t interpret things in their own way. I had a ton of companions that had far-fetched non-doctrinal beliefs like coming back as a butterfly. That’s not unrealistic at all!
@@bradensorensen966 Im really glad you said that cause with it being such an important plot point I really wanted to not let it bother me. Plus obviously Micah (the other host) didn’t think it was strange so I feel I’ve come around on that plot point since the time of recording. It just struck me as such a strange thing for a missionary to believe when we first saw the film
@@ThisIsReviewable it’s not a big problem. I think it’s becoming more important for Mormons to realize that every member of the church is an individual with their own thoughts and feelings.
@@dayharper9637 what she thinks about the butterfly doesn’t invalidate Mormon theology any more than Martin Harris purportedly seeing Christ in the form of a deer. Look it up!
@@bradensorensen966 I don't reallycare if it invalidates Mormon theology? I do think it creates a ping for most mormons of, "if she's serious, this isn't quite mainline." Which I think it consistent with the characterization that she's the heretic, although I hear you that it could also be consistent with a lot of other things. :)
Great work Anziano!
hell yeah fratello!
She's talking about the prawn video because she is the titular heretic.
@@dayharper9637 that’s a super interesting take, I never thought of that as possibility
