The funny thing is I just got home from work and I did fall asleep while watching the video, then had to go back and rewatch it from the start cause I woke up when the ads came in XD and I felt so called out when he said that lmao
if it makes it better, i do that with most sims videos i watch 😆 because i like to knit while watching and usually that's exactly when i don't get distracted (by reading or the like) but alas
I low key love the living room. It's so maxamilist, but I love it. I wish more simmers did rooms like that for real, not just for jokes. It's so great.

It also means when they're a teen they either definitely will or won't be sneaking out late at night. There is no in-between. 😂

I know you've done James' evil build challenge so I think you should try Plumbella's evil build challenge next! Those are both right up your alley. I also think you should do the "Create a House from Premade Rooms." You can create hallways, especially if you're doing multiple floors so you can more easily add in stairs, and you can move doors, windows, and other furniture around to piece the rooms together (and delete stuff or add additional windows or doors) but that's all you get! And of course "Every Room is a different Disney character" based on your experiences in Dreamlight Valley and your own opinions of those movies/series/etc. 😊

@DrGluon yeah I've just never seen it so exact. Usually simmers will get down to single digits and then say that's the best they can do.

The living room really impressed me cause it started out pretty dumb looking and then there's kind of a big jump where you've done a lot in between and suddenly it's really coherent and fun looking. In all the rooms in general I was surprised how well you made stuff match meaning like crazy wallpapers but then still furniture that's not just black and white. You've got a great eye for colour matching ! I am miffed about no shower though, would've fit in the nook too!

Here’s a challenge idea. Roll to determine a budget for the whole build. Build your shell and then spin a wheel to decide which room you decorate first. You can not go over budget and you cannot go back and change a room once you have finished it. It would be a fine line between overspending and having other rooms be almost empty. 😂

I laughed at the ending tour because I did, in fact, black out halfway through (cut me some slack; I had 3 hours of terrible, riding-in-the-car sleep the night before). But I went back and finished it properly this morning and it was well worth it! Thanks for being awesome, Doc!

Those massive piles of books are a real throwback to my childhood home, lemme tell you.
It wasn't because we didn't have bookshelves though. We had bookshelves lining the walls. We just had the piles AS WELL.
I love it! I just wish these poor people got to have a small bookshelf instead of the wall TV in the bedroom, like the one with the elephants, bunnies, or polar bear book ends, so they could actually read somewhere or I guess they just keep actual books in their inventories lol. (Edit: probably could've sacrificed one bathroom counter, used the little end pieces to look more finished, and add the bookcase in there if there just wasn't enough surface room in the bedroom, that could've been funny too... be wary when putting books away.) Add the Peace and Quiet lot trait and boom! I get the feeling this family USED to live in a much bigger house but the bills and the taxes got too expensive or one of them lost a job and they already had their offspring age up to a child or teen, so they moved here and now everyone is kind of grumpy all the time but consoling themselves with various entertainment, movie watch parties to catch up with their friends, and of course tiger appreciation. 😹

I have now head-canoned that this family ARE tigers, and the rugs are relatives that they changed into rugs with Rosa's gun... after she tweaked it to turn people into rugs (skips a step!)

New build challenge: each room is a different budget but with min/max of 250-1500 and you can use the left over money from the previous room to do the subsequent room. Do you take a gamble and spend all the money for one room or do you play it safe and try to save some money for the next room

We traumatized him when we alerted him to the fact that when he downloaded the last shell, he didn't take it out of his budget. 🤣
