I noticed the safety issue too. A key should be needed on the outside to open the service box.

This review was great. Your security issue may of just been a deal breaker for me. Was the beach rough. Specifically would it be too rough for children?

Unless the children are very good swimmers, it would not be suggested to allow them in alone, in my opinion. The big waves are fun, but can also catch you off guard.

Really interesting insights. We have this resort at #3 on our list right now for a wedding in Jan 2025. Appreciate you taking the time. We have Royalton Bavaro and Lopesan on our list as well, any feedback on those?

Hi David, sorry, we haven't been to either of those resorts, so we don't have any info to share. Where ever you decide to go, we hope you have a great wedding and honeymoon! Congrats!

Did you take an exit survey with the resort? I hope you did and mentioned these things.

We had a chat with our butler about the room service door issue. He just said it's ok, just keep the latch closed. That latch would do nothing to keep a motivated individual out. The resort knew about the problem well before we arrived (we had heard reports before we arrived). For whatever reason, they chose not to address it. Not sure if it's been rectified since we were there, but it wouldn't surprise me if it hasn't been addressed.

Wow that room service door is ridiculous! Is this in all of the rooms? Which room type were you in? Thanks

I believe all rooms have the room service door. We were in a preferred club, ocean view room, #1311.

@@AndreaSlaterGulley yes we were in room 1325. I took 2 black zip ties and secured it that way. Worked perfectly 👍🏾

That room service thing is a major issue. Someone needs to bring that to the attention of the hotel via social media.

    • @fan1080Travels
      @fan1080Travels  ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, it is a big security issue for sure. Hopefully, they've been making some improvements.

The things disappearing in your room was weird. Other than the coffee. When something is out of place, they often feel you don't want it. That may be why they removed it and replaced it with decaf.
For your daily restocking and your drink inconsistencies, remember that these are people too. Not saying you are dehumanizing them, but everybody does things differently. The people who restocking your cooler are trained to try and understand what you do and don't want. There's a chance they were stocking what they thought you wanted or what guests most oftenly use more of. And some bartenders pour heavy because people want to get wasted while others pour light because people want to drink more. A good tip for every resort is to tip the maids like 3 bucks a day, smile at them when you see them, and politely ask for the things you want to be stocked daily. The little extra steps of kindness will make sure that even if they are low stock, you will get first dibs on certain things. As with bartenders... if you have a favorite drink... tell them how you want it! I do that all the time in the states as well.
For the preferred beach area, in many places, being too much closer to the ocean could be illegal. Resorts must follow strict government law when it comes to who can access the beaches and who / how they deny access. They simply can't bring the privacy of the preferred club down to the water. If you want a really good private beach experience, try Breathless or Secrets (I would recommend secrets for you as an older couple) in Montego Bay Jamaica. Both those resorts are owned by the company that owns Dreams. The preferred club has a really nice private beach area. Though it is right beside the hard rock.

IMO, this is a great resort for families. It has the water park right at the resort, Kid's pool, etc. Lots for kids and parents!

With all due respect, you’re editing, makes it a little rough to watch. There’s a lot of jumping around.
As far as your feedback, we were there one week ago, and absolutely none of the stuff you mentioned bothered us one bit. I realize it was your experience and I do respect that.

    • @fan1080Travels

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, although jump cuts are a standard editing technique, it can be awkward to watch. I do it to save time on the overall length of the video. In this case, the video would have been twice as long without it. I do this as a hobby, I'm not a professional vlogger/TH-camr.
I'm glad you had a good trip, we did as well. The points mentioned in the video, with the exception of the security issue with the room service doors, were all just minor inconveniences, nothing that would typically keep us from returning to any resort. However, the security issue is a big flaw and for that reason alone we would never go back to this resort.

I watch all your videos and thank you for all the information, I am planning a vacation in June with the family and this is helping a lot if I will consider to go to Dreams Macao. Despite all these inconveniences and issues that you mentioned is it worth going to this resort, can you have a good time or is it better to look for another vacation spot?. And again thank you for taking your time to do these videos

what is your favorite resort in that area ?

    • @fan1080Travels

Dreams Macao Beach is the only resort in that immediate area. Punta Cana resort are spread out over about 40-50 kms, dozens of options. To date, our favorite resorts have been Secrets Royal Beach and Excellence.
