I'd _love_ to get a nice PCP rifle *but* they're quite out of my price range and I've nowhere to enjoy using it.
Had to settle for a Gamo Silent Cat, which isn't awful, but at least it'll work in my backyard and offer up some enjoyment after a long work day.

Awesome bit of kit. Not appealing to my eyes and very expensive but unquestionable performance. If it came with a tidy wooden stock and 300 quid less I'd pick one up!

Thanks for pointing out it's usability(?) by a left hander. After all, everyone is born

I am right handed and until now
I have used right hand designated guns.
I now have a Uragan Compact .177, and it came with the cocking lever on the left hand side, although it would be easy to move it to the right and the position I am used to using, I have found the left handed cocking to be a
very practical and comfortable position, enabling rapid follow up shots, as I don't have to take my hand away from the trigger position, I am totally converted to left hand reloading. Love it. 👍

I appreciate the function of rifles like these,... I just wish the business parts were a bit more refined, and not so in your face. Or, in your hands, because those gauges looked to be placed a bit awkwardly.

My go-to backpack air gun is the Edgun Leshly 2 as it is tiny when folded. Now that DonnyFL came out with the adapter to use FX Barrels I'm going to sell most of my airguns and buy another Edgun Leshly 2 and kit it up with an FX 700mm barrel for long-range shooting. DonnyFL is really starting to shine. The RTI Prophet is also a damn good unit. It's very feature-rich for its price point.

Hmm very interesting .. great vid Andy as always . As far as the rifle goes I like it . However I did notice 4 of those popping up in my local shop (pre owed ) over Xmas and new year . that could be part ex for new gun but it does seem odd . As my local generally only sees one or two of the same kind of rifle in a year and I saw 4 in 2 months that did give me pause for thought on the matter . Though your review abated some of my concerns . 😁

These were developed and on sale before the impact was in the market , I thought the same as you, however upon looking into the RTI company I found all the information needed , it's nice to know that RTI didn't copy another company and just did their own thing.

Got one from Francisco the same day he started selling them!🙂 Really accurate and powerfull little airgun, shoots 0mm center to center groups on my 10 yard indoor range with the JSB heavies at about 950 fps or just under 37 fpe totally effortless. Gregor Kamenšek pushed it to about 55 fpe shooting the .22 Monster RE. Soundwise it is quite loud but I made my own three plus one chamber silencer in the shroud from two coned washers out of a CP 2 silencer and some pieces of the classic hair roll. 😁 It is resonably quiet But probably not backyard friendly until you add another small silencer. A baffle system is under development but it will be another few months until it become availlable.
I just had to buy a 350cc carbonfiber bottle from the Leshiy 2 and try to fit and yes! After grinding a flat on the underside of the shroud, removing about 1mm it fits really nice and adds about 50% more shots without making the gun any bigger. Does give it a nice fatter look though. 🥰
Nice video as usual! Big thumbs up!

I feel I may be asking of you the impossible but believe me I really value your opinion in things "air rifle" related and anything you'd have to offer "good/ bad /ugly/ otherwise". thanks again for your ear/eyes lookin forward to your reply.

The one negative for me is the placement of the forward fill port, if you have an extended pic rail underneath ,for a bipod / torch ,etc etc you would have to remove it to refill wouldn't you ,or can the gun be filled from the rear port ?
I really do like this rifle,I'm going to hold off on buying anything until BSA reveal the side lever update to their r ten, I'm hoping that's on the way sometime soon.

    • @randycupp5925
      @randycupp5925 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

You can rotate the regulator to point the fill nipple off to the side (there is enough thread play). Lots of Priest and Prophet owners have been doing this... I have never filled my Priest from the rear port. But I am pretty sure it is for tethered shooting only and the supply vessel to that port is not to exceed the regulated pressure.

What it REALLY needs , is a billet aluminium ( machined to diameter of your choice ) bag rider , makes shooting one double the pleasure .. my son did mine ( for my standard sized prophet ) at his workshop , didnt have it polished , looked fantastic straight off the lathe ... a plastic one from RTI with postage is ridiculously expensive .. could have done it out of plastic / polymer , but it would have ( in my opinion ) look cheap and nasty ... and ya gorra keep up appearances at the range ain't ya ?

Although I'm a wooden stock, long rifle traditionalist I've always wanted to see a true minimal, functional only set-up, which this does perfectly without looking faux-tactical. First example I've seen that could lure me away from walnut ! 😉😄

100% with you. I dislike all the quasi-military stuff that seems fashionable currently (the new Air Arms S510T is, to my eye, a complete dog's breakfast of a product) but RTI make guns whose form is dictated purely by function. If the Bauhaus had made air rifles...

Is there anything similar to this rifle at the sub £700 mark? This is as far as my budget can stretch and I'd really like something compact.

The closest thing you will find in terms of performance is the Walther Reign, or if you have a little more to spend you can get the prophets baby brother, the Priest 2

Have a look at GunPower rifles, if you like the minimalist thing. They are single shot and can be a bit cranky until you have them set up right but a lot of shooters swear by them. Lots of after-market bits and bobs available too, including a Huma reg. Around the six hundred pound mark.

Nice rifle, shame my budget's exhausted. One question I feel inclined to raise is how comfortable you can be with a rifle that has an output that close to the dreaded 12ftlb? I've just had to tweak my Walther Reign because although it was averaging 11.8ft lb, some shots were exceeding 12ftlb. A concern therefore that with a different pellet selection the average could cross that important line. I'm happier down around the 11.4 - 11.5 average energy.

      @@simonnoble7589 Greetings!
I'm all good, thank you for asking. How are you?
The weather been more warmer these last two days. +2°C or so. Slippery outside as hell. Before that it was even at some point down to -24°C. But luckily it has not snowed that much now.
Btw. This rifle seemed way good. I though we're not much surprised. These usually been great performers. Only thing it is lacking is a semi-auto mode..😁😁
