you should do a dorm room design with all the rules dorm rooms have, no paint, no sticking things on walls that can leave marks and you should give the contestants the same bed, dresser, and desk so they can really let there personal style flow through the space

Ok was I the only one who didn’t read the whole title and thought that Lauren and Joslyn were the ones who would be decorating the rooms? Even though that’s not what it is, I would love to see that as a series. Take two TH-camrs and have them both try to design a room and see whose is better. I would love to see that!

Absolutely adored Hannah’s room like I could literally picture myself living in that space! I love her personality as well - she seems like a person I’d love to have as a friend. ❤️
I must say that I was really moved by the sense comradery shown by these two contestants. I feel like in these types of competitions, especially for tv or youtube, people feel like they have to be super competitive and dramatic in order to get views. Its nice for a change to see that two competitors could support and encourage each other and be positively genuine about how they feel with regards to each others talent and creativity. It truly is a manifestation of what I believe Mr. Kate stands for - which is the embrace of all creative minds and the celebration of innovative thinking and individual style by all. Congratulations.

Ashley's room was to cluttered. No professional designer would have put so much in the room. Hannahs room was beautiful, simplified and true to Modern Farmhouse style.
Making the room look cluttered, is not professional. You should be specific about your furnitures and decorations. Less is more.

I would’ve chosen Hannah as the winner as well but both rooms were so amazing and closely matched. I loved elements from both designs; it’s as if if both of the rooms were combined it would’ve been the perfect mix. They are both super talented diy-ers and I’m honestly so impressed with the both of them.

I love how positive the two contestants were with each other and how positive the comments are compared to some of the the other design vs design videos where some of the comments are more aggressive
Ashley’s room was too cluttered . Too much thing’s going on like the pipe which was unusual but didn’t sit well with the rest of the room.
I love the feeling of space in Annah’s bedroom and sense of peace. The only thing who didn’t work to me was the square rug who looks short/too small for the size of the room and wrong texture but instead a fluffy one same size would have worked.
A large rug could have been ideal to bring the room together for a very cosy look !

I have to say, I agree with Ashley that these two rooms could have been found in the same house. They seemed like opposite twin rooms. Loved them both so much. My personal taste would probably have me leaning towards Hannah's design but that's just my personal taste. As (I think) Joslyn said Ashley's felt a bit too cluttered but that's probably my only nitpick as well. I personaly prefer the chalk wall over the garden diy but hey again, personal preference. Honestly I loved both of them and i think my favourite detail in the entire thing was that pipe shelf Ashley did. I thought that was amazing! Good job both of you, you are truly talented and I hope you can actually become designers (if that's your wish) professionaly. Much love

Hanna's was better. Everyone prefers her room. And she had real plants that were gorgeous vs that little garden wall, so she had a better room even w/ greenery.

I loved both contestants but Hannah has such a beautiful way about her. Her faith and her love of her daughter is so refreshing. Her design was gorgeous.

Ashley's room had so many amazing style moments but I think it was very cluttered with too much going on. Hannah's room had the perfect amount of furniture and I loved her DIY shiplap wall.

Hannah's room was so beautiful it was a design I could actually see being someone's room irl, that chalk board wall 😍 honestly has my heart i mean i bought thatbexact same color for my feature wall like 8 hours ago, love it and that calligraphy, god seriously its a work of art. Loved loved loved the shiplap and that vanity mirror definitely gave me so many ideas, I've already looked at Hannah's room tour part like 3 times, I'm truly in love Ashley's was really pretty as well but it was so crowded that to me it looked more like a room that you could get ideas from and choose pieces from to put into your own space rather than a space that actually already belonged to one person it was more of an ikea room rather than a room that someone could live in and maintain

Absolutely love both bedrooms, but Hannah’s speaks to me. I do love Ashley’s piping book shelf though. Both girls are adorable personalities and I love how they supported each other. I loved Hannah’s chalkboard wall and the calligraphy, and the “it is well with my soul” is my current obsession.
Have families designs rooms for each other like brother designs room for sister and vice verse or husband designs room for wife and vice versa or even mom designs room for daughter!!!

You should do a kids room, nursery, or teenager room. I’m a teen and would love to see something like that. I share my room with one of my sisters and we don’t know how to decorate and organize it!!! We realized how hard it is to decorate!We want our own spaces but we also want an open area. Just a few ideas. Love ya!!!

Colleen Hey! I actually share a room with my sister too! I figured I would give you a few tips...so first I would definitely have some sort of storage unit in ur room. In my room we have a dresser with 6 drawers(my sis and I each get 3). To add a little bit more storage for each of us we got a 3 benches with 3 spaces and stacked them. We ended up nailing them to the wall but if you can't do that you can simply get a bookshelf and use it. We also have adhesive hooks on the wall for jackets/coats,scarves and purses/small bags. We each have our own twin bed in the room. Our closet is NOT a walk in. We have a rack at the top of our closet and chose to add one more at the bottom. We use the top for crafts, art supplies, school supplies, etc.(stored in crates). I'll describe our clothing organization later. The bottom rack is fit our own personal things and extra storage basically(also stored in crates). In out room we also have a nightstand on either side of our bed and we each decorated that of our own personal choices.We each also have a small desk in front of our window( blinds that don't have cords).

I think they have different personalities honestly. Hannah is more reserved and shy while Kate is more outgoing and boisterous.

i would live in ashley’s!! personally i’m leaning more towards a modern feel of a room and ashley’s room really gave off a modern vibe, but i love how easy the natural lighting is in the room, making it feel more of a natural feel! it’s kinda like a balance, neutral kind of room, with literally a fitting laundry bag and a belt rack to go with it, so i don’t have to search for my own design of furniture! omg i really want them to do a modern city design vs design , hands down it would be so cool !!
Ashley’s room was actually too overcrowded, for me, like yes the stuff were actually usable but it made the room too stuffy, but it was cute I would want that as my room. On the other hand Hannah’s room was legit like a magazine, it was so stylish, minimalist and had a great overview, She deserved it.

Wow I loved Hanna's room. It's screams comfort. By end of the day room should feel welcoming and comforting without having to worry about dropping or breaking stuff plus less clutter means less cleaning

Oh my gosh. It's Hannah Emerson! I mean Hannah Lee!!! I love Hannah so much, she's such a great musician and I've followed her for many years on TH-cam! So Hannah is an old love. Then Mr Kate (and Joey) are my new love. I've loved DIY and design for my whole life I was tinkering with stuff since I was a kid; when I was 3 years old I took apart a rotary phone, put it back together and it still worked. I love love love Mr. Kate's videos, Kate/Joey are so incredibly cute together! You've inspired me to do even more designs! I'm so happy to see all three of you in a video together! YAY!

You guys should do best friends vs best friend, I think it would be cool to see how people who are so close together can have two different eyes, I know that me and my best friend like to design and we are both creative weirdos that we both have two different site pictures for rooms and I think it would be so cool to see the difference between two people who are so close to see how different the rooms could turn out!
Love both so much!! I personally liked Ashley’s room better though, her creative use of the metals to tie things together (especially with the bookshelf) was so cool! And I think the amount of items made everything feel more homey and livable bc it had things that are totally useful to everyday life!

I love them both. I was thinking that a foster child moving out of the system could be overwhelmed by how many items are in Ashley's room. Can I have Hannah's room with the lights from Ashley's room???? The lights add a wonderful warm inviting ambiance.

there was not a lot of contrast in Ashley's design. that's a key element of design.

It is so hard to do that kind of work both as the contestant and as the judges because there will always be a loser but both rooms where really fantastic, I liked both equally as much and knowing the rooms were going to a home in need was a great outcome. My favorite if I had to pick one was Ashley's room, even if it had a lot going on you could put away some pieces and switch around so you wouldn't get bored. I thought Hannah's room didn't have as many interesting things other than the chalkboard wall. An idea for the next episode an eclectic boho nursery.
An interesting idea for next Design vs. Design would be a dorm or bathroom. It is hard to design a room with pieces of furniture required to be in the room, like a shower or dorm wardrobe. A bedroom and living room is very easy to customize so having a challenge with the same required pieces of furniture in a room would be awesome to learn from and an epic challenge to undertake.
I honestly feel Ashley can be a asmr artist she is soooooo calm and relaxing
I just love even more that they have people doing the makeover designs. I’ve watched all of the Mr. Kate videos and I also love how they just transform mindset design into reality. #loveMr.kate.
I was gonna comment that no matter who wins, my personal winner is Hannah. That room was so freaking pretty! Everything about it was just spot on, had a place and meaning and mainly had that home feeling. Ashley did good as well but you could definitely tell that farmhouse is not her style and that's probably why the room looked cluttered.
Agreed! Hannah's roots were definitely shown in her execution of this room! Ashley's room was pretty but it lacked the overall goal.

Same!! Ashley’s room looked cool but i feel like i’d get a anxious living there bc there are just too many stuff while Hannah’s looks comfy and spacious and just practical maybe?
