  • For sixteen years (1995-2010), groups of Mennonite pilgrims assembled on a passenger ship on the Dnipro River to participate in the Mennonite Heritage Cruises, to fellowship and learn about the Mennonite story in Ukraine. Nearly a year ago, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of this land Mennonites once called home. In this webinar, displaced Ukrainian scholar Nataliya Venger, Heritage Cruise organizer Marina Unger, and CTMS co-director Aileen Friesen reflect upon Mennonite engagement with Ukraine and recognize the publication of a new edition of The Mennonite Story in Ukraine: The Heritage Cruise Lectures by Paul Toews.
This event was hosted by the Centre for Transnational Mennonite Studies with support from the Paul Toews Professorship Fund.
    Recorded February 21, 2023.
