    You’re such an inspiration, Kirby! I have recently got my first bespoke suit made, and now I’ve ordered bespoke dress shirts to go with it. That’s completely changed my entire clothing experience.

    My first K.A. tie arrives tomorrow...I'm as excited as a schoolkid. Yeah, went for a madder silk. But I must say, the ties in your collection match my (newly improving) tastes better than other retailers/youtubers. Not that they're deficient in any way (FAR from it), but my waitlist for (being able to afford) yours is just substantially longer.

    Kirby, thank you. You should see some of the incredible buttons I have discovered. Horn, Bone, Pearl, different woods, even Agarwood which were the most incredible. Mostly of course for suits and coats.

    Love the fall ties, ordered the butcher blue wool challis tie yesterday, can't wait to receive it. The green paisley ancient madder might be next, and I do need more socks....
    Oh, and your hangers are miraculous. I would highly recommend to others.

      Extremely happy to hear that the hangers are to your liking! It is so important and yet so often overlooked.

    You might want to wash them in cool water in a machine at home, then hang to dry and iron yourself. I know that is what Hugo from Satirical Talks does and he has great shirts as well. He says the dry cleaner is bad for both the suits as well as the shirts. They should last much longer that way.

    Random question: Have you done anything on shoe inserts for extra comfort or arches. I’m very interested in how shoe makers view this products and how it impacts fit. I agonize sometimes over how well a new shoe should fit - does it need extra cushion? Is that normal? Is discomfort from feeling the Blake stitches on my toes normal? I think this topic could be good content for a video. I imagine most guys deal with these questions and it isn’t commonly addressed

      Evan K I’m a woman, and here for the garment care tips...and have been wearing custom insoles (from podiatrist) For years and I have thicker ones for running shoes and thin ones for dress shoes. In my opinion they absolutely make a huge difference in fit if you have flat feet and have a need for Arch support. I find as long as I have arch support, cushion doesn’t matter as much As my feet are better positioned in the shoe. Looking forward to hearing what Kirby says on the topic.

    Kirby is wise to launder his new shirts. If you wear new shirts without laundering them, you run the risk of transferring latent microorganism from the fabric manufacturering and storage to your skin. Hello ringworm. I've heard several horror stories from associates. Always launder newly purchased garments.

    When wearing a knit tie, I'll adjust the small blade so about half an inch peeps out from behind the big blade. All other ties, it's in the keeper. It is a SIN to have the small blade longer than the big blade. It is an anathema.

    • @countalma9800
      @countalma9800 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem is, most ties these days are too damn long, and for a shorter guy, it can be very difficult to adjust the tie in such a way that the wide blade is of the proper length. I face this problem all the time, and I'm not even short, standing at around 5'11" (180 cm). I assume I have a short torso, plus, tend to wear trousers with a higher rise (around my navel), so, sometimes there's no other way for me to tie the tie, but to let the narrow end fall a few centimeters below the wide end. And no, I don't like tucking the narrow blade inside my shirt in between the buttons, or tucking it into my trousers.
      Overall, if the narrow blade is just a few centimeters below the wide blade, it doesn't look bad at all. Speaking of the "keeper", it is a relatively new development. You will almost never find them on vintage ties from before the 1990's. Hermes still produces ties without keepers.

      You're taller than I am. My problem is I'm fat. I've got a fat (18 inch) neck. There's not a lot of tie left when I suit up; so I buy extra long (62"+) ties. The tie will have plenty of back blade left.
