Here's some advice if you like someone giving you advice. On. In. And under. You need something to sleep on something to sleep in something to sleep under. Gather an 8-inch pile of leaves and pile them up under your tarp to lay on. Circle them leaves with logs so they don't let the leaves spread out easily. Place your bag or sleeping bag on top of the leaves to bring you off the ground. The reason you want to be off the ground is because the Earth will suck the heat out of you. Placing rocks in your fire will get them hot so when you're ready for bed, tuck a few down under the leaves to radiate heat. Always check the weather before you go out to have the proper clothing to keep you warm. When you build your fire, count 3 steps (normal) from where you will be sleeping to the fire. When putting up your tarp be sure to keep it as low as possible. This is to trap heat close to you. A good Ridgeline low and a tarp would not put a hole in your tarp and you can have it low down, block the end furthest from the fire. The things I'm mentioning will make a huge difference in your comfort while you camp. I really did enjoy the video.
Hello from Oklahoma! Good video! Thanks for taking us along. Good content and a pretty area! That's how the hobos do it. Thanks for all You do! God Bless!
Hey brother, I just found your channel, older man to younger man, be conscious of those fallen trees, a few of them looked like they were placed there.👍🏿💪🏾🖐🏾🙅🏾♂️ 10:51
Love your vids my man. Was stationed in Misawa Japan right after the whole Fukushima disaster. Then got Kim Jong Jackass next door lobbin’ crap over. I knew nothing about well though out survival, but out of practicality I LEARNED. Your vids are frickin’ awesome with respect to most that exist. Man, must be nice to be in all that awesome lush. I unfortunately now live in the urban desert (San Antonio, TX)🤮. Need to get my sorry ass out and livin’ in WV, Montana, or Idaho. Life is too short not to live your dream. Brother…. you’re living it! Very envious.
Your priorities were spot on. Shelter 1st then firewood. With a cool rain coming wet clothes will suck that heat right out of you. Great job taking us out into the woods sharing your adventures with us. Thanks and God bless.
Good job on your $ 50 Dollar General challenge. I agree the $ 7 tarps are almost paper thin and puncture easily. That cold night sleep was due to a lack of insulation. Next time may I suggest, if you can find or create dry leaves piling them over and under the tarp works may help in retaining your body hest.😊
I love your video!!! I used to camp like that, except I had a small tent. Other than that I really enjoyed going with only what I needed to catch, kill and clean my food. I must admit I went hungry a few times! I'll be arching for more videos!!!
I must say I really appreciate your videos. You're either teaching us something or taking us on an outing. You're not trying to sell us something, whining about not getting views or pushing a political agenda on us. Thank you
Man, I'm real familiar with DG food. You were smiling like a 4th grader with the Hershey's bar😅. I camp and hike myself a lot now that I retired and that cold humidity is humbling. New follower her from SC! Gonna check out your other videos now. 👍💪
Having camped under a tarp in 40° weather and almost constant rain with no fire I can say that 40° in those conditions feels a lot colder than a nice, dry forty-something degrees.
Love the concept but in execution it felt more like a Dollar General $7 tarp review and less like a Dollar General 24-hour survival. Would've liked to see more of what products you chose and your process of utilizing those products cause you didn't spend $46 on a tarp, some sausages and water. With all of that included plus the vanity shots this could've been a half hour video easy.
That looked uncomfortable. But it'll make you really appreciate the comforts of home---a soft warm bed, indoor plumbing, electricity, food in the fridge, etc.
Found you by accident and have to tell ya I like your videos 👍 May I request you to make a video on how could one get gasoline out of your vehicle for use for other things that you may need it for vehicles now days are impossible to siphon it out or at least mine are if the tank is completely full can get a gallon or two but that’s all would greatly appreciate it thanks from a new viewer!
Great video, some advice for recording and editing try to cut out the parts you have to think for a sec or where there’s just a delay to keep it like you talked all the way thru. Other TH-camrs I’ve watched done this and just makes the video that much more entertaining

All solid suggestions. And Bravo WBR for getting out and doing things.😊
Great video. Anytime i hear rain is coming and then see someone under a tarp with a bunch of firewood, i know I’m watching an operator! Props.
You should have way more views and subscribers. Your content is always awesome.

The sleeping bag turned out really cool.
Very chill video, one of the better dollar store challenge videos I've seen. 👍
Dollar general is a decent go to when I can’t get by Walmart when I’m on the road in my tractor trailer. Convenient. Great content man!
Oh it wanna rain rain 🤣
Kudos! I would have got up and left with it cold. I'd probably still be walking around trying to find my way out of those woods today!
Great job! ❤😊❤

The way he prevented wild fires at the end (i forgot, good reminder)

Mr Ril, I recognize the land -- you're in the Pacific Northwest! Only the trees aren't, they should be firs. Where are you?
