@@ChristianVik-y4u Yes sir, your comment is right on point. When the Fw-190 A1 entered service on Aug 1941, it took the RAF by surprise. Initially, they even confused it with Curtiss Radial Airplanes the Americans had given to the French. The Fw-190 outperformed the Spitfire Mk 5. It was not until a Fw-190 landed by mistake on a RAF base, that the Brits were able to dissect it and built the Spitfire Mk 9(IX) to counter it.
