Man....what can I say. Your an inspiration to me now. I been thinking about building my own Bar for more than 5 years now. I do not have the money yet, I dont know how to do it. But I wont stop. Thank You.
It is like you snuck inside of my brain and saw what I've dreamed about having in my basement (I don't have one) for a long time. That is an incredible job. I love the touch of RUSH. One of my favorite bands. Amazing job.
Thank you to everyone for all the excellent comments and encouragement, it was a labor of love, sweat, and tears. My family and I moved from here a year ago. It was not easy letting go but knew we were moving on to bigger and better things, especially for my kids. My new basement is double the size of this one and I will be starting the construction very soon. I haven’t decided the theme yet but have a few to choose from so stay tuned for more videos
Hey this is Joe from Joesbasementpub. Thanks for the shoutout for influencers! You did an awesome job! I sold my house as well along with the pub which was sad. We moved to Switzerland and are back now. I’m building a Swiss chalet and German Biergarten. Will share the video once done!
@@JoesBasementPub hey Joe, good to hear from you. I remember the countless emails to you when I was asking for your insight. I still appreciate the help you gave. It was sad to leave also and it’s funny how you moved too and even more of a coincidence that I moved into a German style log home and have been toying with the idea of a German pub for awhile along with an old saloon theme. We’ll see, I’m redoing the kitchen and master bedroom now so hopefully in the fall. Keep me updated on your progress. Take care
Fantastic! Such a realistic Irish Pub, very authentic looking. Slainte! Someday, I hope this Italian, Philadelphia Phan, can enjoy half as nice a mancave, as you have created.
What I find amazing is what basements that are Man Caves what they looked like before and what they're turned into. You can't even recognize what it used to be. I love Man Caves!
The name of the song is The Wild Rover, an old irish standard (and yeah, a great song), but I'm not sure who's doing this version of it. Sounds good, though, and fits the video perfectly.
Great job. Looks very like the small pubs here. You want the GAA jersey of what ever county you or your family hail from on the wall is all that's missing!
hope youve got some celtic fc photos up now no real irish pub can do without them. good job i have anirish pub too with full draught guinness the lot cheers.
Hi. Sorry so late. It was just a single paned, six light wood frame window that was from my house that I replaced years ago. You'll see these on Craigslist for free. People do alot of crafts with them. The frame in the wall I built to accommodate the window size and had to place dowels to let the window open. I can even take the window out at just the right angle
Hello.ill try to remember as much as possible. The actual bar and back bar has about 3-4 coats of minwax polyshades gloss in Bombay mahogany then about 7-8 coats of glossy helmsman spar urethane. Everything else except floors has 3 coats of the Bombay mahogany with 2-3 coats of the helmsman spar urethane in satin. The floor has 2 coats of minwax red mahogany wood finish stain and about 3 coats of minwax super fast drying polyurethane for floors in clear semi gloss. Hope that helps
It was DIY with some material like studs, drywall, moldings, electrical was recycled. About $3200. The floor was the most expensive at about $1200 because of the dricore subfloor below the tongue and groove planks. The whole bar and backbar was already in place. thanks. sorry so late with this
Wow. You must really like beer since you turned a part of your house into a pub. Nice work though! I get the feeling you will change the pub into something else within ..5years or so
Looks awesome!! Love the drumkit as well. You should have some live music in there in the spirit of irish drinking songs and invite some good people. Nothing better!!! =) Cheers!
That is so freakin' awesome!!! It looks so genuine and it's your basement!! Man, I want one! Nice work, I would have never known that was in someone's home! I dig the band area too! How many square footage is it?
Great looking pub but your drink selection needs a serious upgrade. You go through all that time and expense and all you have is some beer and a bottle of seagram 7? The worst cheap terrible whisky ever? Get some stuff people might actually want to drink. Top shelf quality liquor. Good Irish whiskey, scotch, bourbon etc. You could swill beer and bottom shelf booze anywhere.
They are. English pubs have much nicer names to start with. Irish pubs always have ugly names like Dirty O'Dwyers or mucky McGinty's whereas English pubs are calked things like The White Hart, The Red Lion, The Cross Keys, The Admiral etc. English pubs are usually much plusher and evocative too. Irish pubs are always pokey and basic.
lovely! ☘

This is unbelievable. Amazing job! The only things i can think of that
would make this better are a pool table and a dart board.
It is like you snuck inside of my brain and saw what I've dreamed about having in my basement (I don't have one) for a long time. That is an incredible job. I love the touch of RUSH. One of my favorite bands. Amazing job.

Love a bit of Rush. That's very impressive indeed. Building our bar now but Scottish theme- The Loch Inn (in Romania).

Thanks Andrew
I love the entrance. That is very creative. Cheers.

@pdmad Thanks. I have brewed my own before but the tap is 1/4 keg commercial for when we have bigger parties
Any chance of an update on the bar with a better camera by chance :)
To finish off your pub, add some Celtic fc photos on your walls🍀🍀
It's in the works. I'm switching pictures around the walls as I speak
to finish off the IRISH pub your suggestion is to put a SCOTTISH football team on the wall???????
awesome
Awesome, thank you
Looks fantastic I wish I had a cellar. I asked my other half if we could make the living room into a pub and she said no. Bitch.

Yes, that is a future plan
Awsome! but please tell me me you have a proper dart lane in there, cant have a great Irish pub like yours without a dart lane.
Someday
Very nice setup, hope my home bar turns out as nice. Are you tapping commercial kegs or do you homebrew?
hi, how would you describe the window on the 'outside of the bar'? looking to get one
What shade of green are the walls painted ?
That is so freakin' awesome!!! It looks so genuine and it's your basement!! Man, I want one! Nice work, I would have never known that was in someone's home! I dig the band area too! How many square footage is it?
Parabéns!!!!
How did you guys set up the tap?
What kind of budget were you working with? Seems like a few thousand investment depending how much was DIY.
The pub is unbelieveable....are you open for business or did all this work for fun?
I LOVE THE WILD ROVER SONG, THE MAN CAVE IS HOT, I'D LOVE TO STOP IN AND HAVE A ROOT BEER.
