+AStandsForFrench i mentioned this in another comment, but this run was scheduled for like 6am and went on around 7am - i was really tired and it was hard to maintain enthusiasm and focus on performing the route. that said, there is not much to say about the game once the initial information about killing all but 1 neighbor and the points for the extra bonus neighbor are explained if anyone does have questions about the route that wasn't explained in the commentary let me know
lurkchan Damn i can't believe how close i was to beating this game. I got to level 47 and i believe i made it to level 48 but never even made it to the boss. I was really close but I never did beat this game as many times I tried as a child. I played this on the Sega Genesis. Thanks for this video and explaining something's during the play through.
I tried so hard as a kid to beat this in one setting so I could have all the weapons and everything ready to go for the final boss and I just could not beat him. I didn't realize it was the final boss at the time, so now it's even more frustrating realizing how close I was to finally beating this.
Whoever owns this game now could re-release it on mobile and it would (I think) fare quite well. It's nice to see that it's still relevant and appreciated these days.
Want to make a couple corrections. The first correction is that there are fifty-five levels, if you include the bonus levels. The second correction is that that cheerleader in Level 36 usually despawns is you kill the giant spider close to her and you wait for Dr. Tongue to spawn. You seem to have negated the close proximity in which you killed the Giant Spider to the cheerleader by walking off-screen, causing Spiders to despawn. I'm inclined to believe, based on extensive tests, that the reason that cheerleader isn't always there (even after you've seen that she is before the fight) is because the game forgets her existence when trying to animate the explosion of the Giant Spider and spawn the Spiders and Dr. Tongue all at once. It's the same method employed when you have the maximum amount of enemies spawned. Given the limited capabilities of this game at the time of it's release, there were little quirks such as this.

I remember my years as a 8-10 year old, spending my whole day getting to the last boss and not being able to defeat it, I couldnt realistically fight all the bosses unless i started from like lvl 20 as needed to save items. I clearly didnt realise that you didnt have to save all if they die in lvl 1
Am the only person who as a remembers someimes skipping levels (sometimes even to the next boss) if you save all the neighbors in a level? Mandella effect? Or am i crazy.
You can but you're risking an instant game over if that neighbour dies. You're basically skirting death constantly. You get more out of the game including secret levels if you save everyone and do as much as you can. How difficult the later levels are depend on how much well you've managed your resources.
+BadAkatsukifangirl That way he cuts even more the time he spends in every level. He only has to locate 1 neighbor. Tho he's walking on a fine thread, because if that one dies, he gets a game over.

When I was younger I watched my dad beat the entire game and saved all the neighbors without killing them. I think I'm going to show him this video.
