Renee Zellweger is in her late forties, Bridget Jones is (now) meant to be early forties. Colin Firth is mid-fifties, Mark Darcy is meant to be mid-forties. I don't think 5-10 years out makes them "too old", considering in other films like Grease they had people in the their 30's playing high school kids.
We will not find out who the farther is, I'm calling it now. It will go something like "I don't need to know, as long as we have each other, I love you Bridget" Zoom out, kissing, Roll credits.
I haven't seen the first part (I don't know even if they are related) but now i definitely want to see Bridget Jones Diary and definitely this one! This is HILARIOUS. I love Patrick Dempsey

I call total BS on that. Of course people age and wrinkle, but some get plastic surgery and tell people it's aging and wrinkling. Zellweger has lost dramatic amounts of weight before between movies, but she still looked like herself pre/post weight loss. Wouldn't be the first time someone's lied about this stuff and it won't be the last.
We who have been watching these great actors for years really don't give a toss! May they all just keep acting until they don't want to do it anymore! I am sure there are plenty of good story lines... and plenty of alternatives for the ageist! So that is doesn't really matter so much for those that do care about looks imo.

Honestly, I am very happy that this Bridget Jones movie isn't following the 3rd book. When I heard what happened to Darcy in the 3rd book I refused to read it, I'd much rather tell myself the first two novels are the complete storyline.
I don't know about the Geri Halliwell or The Darkness style reference but - ha ha, yes, the fight on Bridget #1 was hilarious! They refused, quite correctly I think, to do the original perfectly-choreographed fight scene. Another one of _those Bridget Jones' Diary-type_ fight scenes would be funny (in a good way because it seems more realistic and so un-Hollywood) - but without the head hitting the concrete part I would hope - maybe on grass this time?
Geri and The Darkness were soundtracks for those fights and must I say the music was a part of what made them epic. So we'll wait and see what happens here.
Must watch the fight scene again. There are not many fight scenes that I actually enjoy watching but the farce in the scenes is great! Music makes movies SO much better. It can make/break a scene imo. Well, let's hope this movie is good and not a flop. I don't anticipate it being a flop but I think it better to have low expectations met and exceeded than high hopes dashed. So, I shall continue to think to myself (quite deliberately) "I hope it is not a flop" lol.
I bet it's going to be Jack's baby but Mark will adopt it as his own. That way it's something fresh/unexpected but Bridget still ends up with Mark (the way it's supposed to be).

Personally, I think it is going to be a very enjoyable movie and I absolutely intend to watch it... one should not take a Bridget Jones' movie too seriously but just enjoy it. Light-hearted but, as before, I expect it will be well-acted and really enjoyable entertainment: that sounds good to me. And I still like heavy going, high-brow, very serious movies too! We need to enjoy a good variety of movies, just like a good variety of books, music, concerts, theatre, etc in our lives if we can possibly do so - when and where possible because let's face it, there is a whole lot of horrible happening out there. So why not go off and enjoy it in September!
