Very helpful! I have a good condition AE-1 that's missing the rewind nob assembly. Still deciding whether to sell the camera, lens, and leather case, or buy the nob and keep it...It's been in the back of my closet for over 10 years.

I have the AV-1, my fathers old camera, and I am very grateful that you verified that it does NOT have the same rewind knob as shown in your instruction since I'm looking to buy spare parts. The knob (silver plastic part) is broken on mine. The crank works but the whole assembly feels really fragile. This confirms that I need to look for a AV-1 specific rewind knob spare part! (or 3D-print a plastic replacement)

@@isaihdz23 no unfortunately not. Mine still works but is really fragile and I have to be careful when rewinding. My best bet would be to look for a used AV-1 camera body on second hand for spare parts.
When I stuck a screwdriver in between the rewind fork, one of the fork heads broke off 👍 thank you so much for helping me break my Canon AE-1!

Great Video, where can I purchase a new rewind knob for my Canon AE-1 Program?
Just a note on the different versions of the rewind knob.
Although as noted by the presenter on this video, the rewind knob part number for the AL-1 is different than that of the AE-1 Program, it is, however, identical in fit, form and function. I have just fitted one.
The AL-1 knob can therefore be used as a direct replacement for the AE-1 Program.
Broken complete AL-1's can be found cheaper than the knob alone for the AE-1 Program on the second-user market!!
My canon ae-1 program is only missing part 4 the rubber washer is that a problem?

The metal thing that's supposed to be pulled up to open the back fell inside the back and I can't get it out, either open the back. Any help?
