Replacing the old resonators on the M5 so there's currently a void there that needs filling in the near future, so I thought I drive it once before it's all locked back up and legal again.

Opening the exhaust right at the X-pipe or before the resonators just gives it such a refined raw sound, unlike if you were to do a muffler and resonator delete. At that point I feel the sound depth drops and is more bassey in an almost old American GM sound, which doesnt seem to fit well. This is a fantastic video. I've plan on putting some exhaust valves just after the X-pipe as there is no resonator currently. I'd love for it to sound like this, but then at times for it to also sound stock as it has the original mufflers on.
an x-pipe connects (mostly after the cats) the right and left exhaust. An X-Pipe supports a good exhaust gas flow. A 100% Straight pipe has no cats, no resonator and no muffler. And without an x-pipe, there is no connection between the right and left exhaust. Resultat is > Your V8-car has a nice and very (extreme) loud v8-sound
Those look like Dinan cans? Are they? I recommend you don't put new resonators on but install electric cutouts so you can have this sound when you want it or have it quiet when you don't. The areas after the x-pipe are perfect spots for them. Make sure you purchase the ones that can open variably not the plain open/close type. The go/sound button can be installed in-dash. Some can even be operated remotely on a key fob.
Straight pipes is no cats and pretty much nothing else....too loud. Ive still got this M5 and only 50k miles on it and still great ride. Just added KW V2 as the original KWv1's toast....This vid was way too loud for living with but was fun for 1hr making it back then
You should know that there are thousands of homes in the area that I drove in this vid.... The bit I did the burn out has a large school to the left of the vids location..... those roads I drove in the middle of the vid are gone.
würde mal behaupten, da fehlt nach den beiden Metallkats der Rest !!! Praktisch 2 offene Ofen-Flammrohre :-))) ...klingt jedenfalls so, wie meiner als ich x-Pipe und Reuter-Eisenmänner montierte und ihn kurz ohne das laufen gelassen habe !!! nicht TÜV gerecht
sounds quite similar to the exhaust on Super Speeders Rob's Ford GT while running from the po-po lol. FUCKING LOVE IT!!

You could get very close to this, exhaust flap after the x pipe. Theres a guy in Germany that has a 540 that sounds this good.,
