- ‘Comm & Electronic Warfare specialist,’ who is India’s new Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi?
Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi on April 30 took charge as the new Chief of Naval Staff of India. As Admiral R Hari Kumar retires from services on April 30, Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi has assumed charge. Born on May 15, 1964, Admiral Tripathi was commissioned into Executive Branch of Indian Navy on July 01, 1985. A Communication and Electronic Warfare specialist, he has had a long and distinguished service spanning nearly 39 years. Admiral Tripathi had earlier served as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command. New Indian Navy Chief has also commanded Indian Naval Ships INS Vinash, Kirch and Trishul. In his first address as the Naval Chief, Admiral Tripathi talked about pushing the navy towards ‘Aatma-Nirbharta’.

Honestly i find it a little worrisome that the chiefs of both Army and Navy are not direct combat specialists ( engineering and electronic warfare). I am a civilian and dont know if this is a good or bad decision.
My civilian brother: executive branch of the navy is the main warfare branch of the navy. The executive branch consists of Navigation, Gunnery, Communication and anti submarine warfare. Now the communication branch consists of three parts: electronic warfare, tactical communication and telecommunication; all very critical for tactical decision making and guidance of the fleet activities during war. The current CNS is a specialist in all three, not just electronic warfare, which btw, includes jamming of radars and missiles of the enemy and deceiving the adversary by camouflaging the radar signature of own ship.
He is sainik school rewa, ex nda so chill and just be carefree.

If touching feet of mother and breaking coconuts on the military hardware can make Indian military top of the world then by now we would have beaten China and other super powers. Please stop showing this kind of emotional display to public and focus on the how good training is provided to military and how high quality equipment are making at home. This is very cold comment but we need to move forward with the reality and keep our emotion behind, our enemy does not care about it.
