He does. But the biggest change I've seen is his voice. Sometime in the 80's it started to get deeper and pretty raspy. Either way, he's one of the greatest actors alive today.
What a power of improvisation, a small circle of such quality actors as AL Pacino. He won only one Oscar, but that Oscar is a ridiculous benchmark for such performances, such performances are beyond the limits of art. Long live my hero of youth, one of the best actors of all time, who changed the film world forever, and whose roles set the standards of modern acting!
In an interview, Pacino said it was a shame that John Cazale was never nominated for an Oscar in his lifetime. He only appeared in 5 films. All were nominated for Best Picture, with 3 of the winning Best Picture.
Another 70's masterpiece that was, quite simply, perfect. As was the Godfather. No coincidence that Pacino was in both- arguably the greatest American actor ever, based on these two films alone.

Amazing how so many older films have this ability to just draw you in. And I’m not here to say “everything was better back when” because it wasn’t, just different. Good and bad. But a lot of older films are really magnetic, powerful, and stay with you a long time.
Dog Day Afternoon - originally entitled The Boys in the Bank - has no musical score. Why? Because director Sydney Lumet, mindful of authenticity, wanted to convey the bleakest atmosphere of a hot boring day : a dog day afternoon. Except for one Elton John song (“Amoreena”) playing over the opening credits and a few excerpts on radios here and there, the biographical drama movie is empty of music. Quite a fair emulation of life, isn’t it? ❤️
Sidney Lumet did the same in 12 Angry Men. Barely any background music and the total focus remained on how hot the day was and how trapped the 12 men were. Another striking similarity between the 2 movies is how the majority of the plot takes place at 1 given point. That closed room in 12 Angry Men and the bank in dog day afternoon.

John Gazale where in lot of the greatest movies in the the 70s, heartbreaking that he died so young who knows what more great movies he could have done.
He was born in the town I live in. There was an electrical box painted by a local artist to recognize Cazale, but it kept getting vandalized because his character in The Godfather was not liked much around here. After it was repainted with some baseball player, the vandalism stopped. When I asked my ex about it, he told me, “to the Italian kids from Revere, The Godfather was their Star Wars” (except he said “stah wahs” because of his accent)
