What you're forgetting about all that flat land.....is that you're getting into the beginning of tornado alley which is bad enough. Add flat plains and it's basically nowhere to shelter from God's endmill. And copilot has a lot of jobs, not least of which is handing out food and refueling the vehicle at pit stops. Putting the wipers up is just one of those habits. When there's ice or snow melt the blades can actually get stuck to the windshield with ice and this prevents that. Plus it's a PITA to try and work around them when they're down. Great video, keep them coming!! :)
