I just found Perplexity, today and I immediately came to your site to see what you thought of the program. I LOVE the ability to upload my own paper and have it give me additional info, like a better conclusion, a correlated reference list (with subheadings), a structure from my paper for a future powerpoint ... and even formulated images that I could use. In actual science research, I'd expect more than literature searching. Did it have an effect on something - apart from giving summaries? And on those summaries: do we know a bit about Perplexity searches for and selects sources to cite?
Tbh I prefer Krawl AI over Perplexity. It's more work-focused and I can get lot more things done using it because of the "tools" concept they introduced. Plus they are adding new tools to it almost every other week. It's not necessarily great for scientific research yet, but still more useful than Perplexity in other use cases right now I think
Thanks for the explanation. In these videos it would be helpful if you explained the pricing structure and limitations of any free version. Perplexity looks to be 200 USD per year
The hilarious part of the prompt is just for color ot is it necessary to reinforce the request? I'm not kidding... I'm genuinely interested in knowing it :D

Well depends. I already broke it twice. It DOES give some good answers, but on a very complex topics it falls flat on the face. It has even admitted it doesn't have enough data for my question. My take: This AI proggies are just "expert systems" from a few decades ago, just running on stronger hardware and fed more data. At the end this will be just tool, advanced, but still tools.
So where will the answers come from for this app when the source sites fail from lack of ad dollars. No one is going to pay to advertise on a site where 80% of the hits are by bots. Also how many people are going to actually check the accuracy of the information, especially if the answer sits well with them?
Do you add your psychological problems to the prompt to entertain the viewers, or is it on purpose as some kind of prompt engineering to shame the system into creating better results?
This might be funny but I actually like Google search results better. Google search gives me whole list of web respurces and I chose what I want to see. These new age chatbots think they know better😊
