Glad to see that you put that saw dust pile in the perfect place for Piper and Ruger to help spread the saw dust around. Seeing Piper playing in the saw dust reminded me of playing the the big leaf pile that my Pop use to rake from the lawn in the fall. Great video M&M, thumbs up.
Well hello Morgan Family! Got a bit side tracked but I'm back, been watching off road recovery in Utah. Matt from "Matt's off road recovery" is a gentleman like yourself and well worth a watch.
Tractors? Not RK because when you say it is over , it is. Not Bobcat, okay, was never a guess for me but being an Aussie and enjoying the music from over there I am reminded of the words from a song " I drive a John Deere tractor, I'm a liberated man". Mike you are liberated just by agreeing that work needs to be done and is actually fun. Look forward to finding out the deal.
Hi Mike, I have log siding on my house. I use CWF made by the Flood Corp. I use the “clear” version. It gives the wood a natural, honey tone. It fades after a few years and you have to do a re-coat, but there is no pealing or flaking. You never have to scrape or wire brush it, just brush more on.
Love the dogs in the sawdust pile, what a nice lead in.
I think Mike is holding out for a Steiger Tiger 500 or maybe a Big Bud 747! These would really get the job done ... may need to widen the trails, but could they haul out the wood! 😲 Can’t wait time see the wood shed finally finished as it has been a great release from all the COVID news watching it being constructed. Thanks
Hey Hunter! ✋🏻👴🏻
Hey Mike, A good weight distribution hitch would improve the ride and handling while towing the trailer better than anything else. Adding rear airbags or springs will actually put more weight on the rear axle of your truck and make the front lighter . A weight distribution hitch will distribute the weight more evenly between the front and rear axles of your truck, improving handling and safety. .
Love seeing the product produced with the saw mill!!👍👊
Good Sunday Morning Mike and Melissa from Pensacola Florida! Loved seeing the dogs playing so much. Actually made me laugh a little watching them. Anyway, love your channel(s), love the message you convey to us all, and love how you share your little bit of paradise with us all. Might not seem like paradise for most, but I am a nurse and watching you guys go about your day is such a stress reliever.
Thank You!
I have a Bob Cat compact tractor going on Fourteen years now and have done no work on it, just oil, filters, and hydraulic fluid. Can't wait to see what you are getting. Really enjoy your videos Mike, have a great day.
I’m probably late to the party but Kioti all the way! (If you have a dealer in a decent distant from you) I looked at every brand and settled on a DK45HST over 5 years ago. I’ve never been disappointed, I’ve never had a break down. Best bang for the buck by far!!!!!
Mike - can't wait to hear which tractor will be in your future. Thanks for all the great videos.
Thanks for making these videos.
It looks like your dogs really love that saw dust.
I did not notice Melissa's slight stumbles. I did notice she poses with the grace, form, and poise of a model. I saw this by the trailer and on the grass. I also noticed, at the sawmill she worked, "Like a Navvie" (canal digging laborer) as the English say.. Nor did she lose a step or a bit of grace, where it counted. Melissa quickly flagged her slight flaws. Now before I finished this, I played Sammy Kershaw's " She Don't She's Beautiful " ( Matching songs to situations is weakness of mine, part of my Autistic pattern matching. ) Of course, this a great part of her charm and shining spirit. God Bless and Protect you al, my friends.
I would use an oil base stain. They only make latex stains for your house these days. You will need to look for deck stains to get oil base. It will hold up much better.
Good morning Mike and Melissa, and all the subs. Wishing you all an awesome day filled with love, kindness and hope for your fellow humans. Congratulations on hitting 150K subscribers....... this only means one thing, you are growing because the content of your videos is good, very good. Keep cranking out these great videos and we will be at 200K in no time. Have a beautiful day folks.
Good morning Morgan family. Great video as always. Can't waite to see your new tractor. Love the dogs...It reminded me of the first time my Saint Bernard discovered that snow was NOT his enemy...lol. He rolled around in it for hours. You guys stay safe and have a day.
Hey, Mike,
In keeping with your "on site material/low cost" guidelines, try using household vinegar as a weathering agent to color your woodshed. One gallon of water, one gallon of white vinegar, and a half-pad of steel wool (or a half-dozen, non-galv. framing nails) mixed in a 5 gal. bucket. Let the pad steep in the vinegar overnight, and the solution will pick up iron oxide from the steel. The 2 gallons of vinegar/iron-oxide solution can be mixed with another 2 gals. clean water. This gives you four gallons of solution for your garden sprayer; zero "environmental impact," dog-friendly, and insects don't love it. Turns pine and cedar an instant "dove gray;" oak will turn almost black. The strength of the solution (you can further dilute it w/more water) affects the tone of the finish: More vinegar = darker wood. Experiment on your off-cuts that've dried to, say, 15% m.c. Woodshed will look ancient (and continue aging) as soon as the solution dries. Come back in late spring and spray with water-soluble, urethane mat-finish, or just leave it alone. Any kind of commercial finish will require upkeep, and it's a woodshed, right?
Blessed with Mellisa, hard worker by your side , rare. Mike I'm an avid watcher and from Pa., jealousy gets negative comments about the equipment, no harm in taking mutually beneficial help when it's available. I as many others would, I am envious but I don't take the initiative to invest the hours Into making the videos nor have I worked to create what you have, so the perks goes to those that did. Great videos, enjoy watching you two take care of that property especially now with the changed lives we have inherited. Work safe, stay healthy !
Always a joy to start the day watching the Morgan's at work and play. You are truly blessed. Thanks for sharing your life and family.
YEA!!! 150,000 Subs!!! Way to go guys!!! Have a day!!!
Three things: 1.) loved the dogs in the saw dust pile. 2.) I think you should use the pieces you first cut off the logs on the raised planters. 3.) wonder why you sometimes take two cuts when you are squaring up the wood. Why not make one bigger/thicker cut. Just curious.
That opening, with dogs frolicking, and Melissa beaming, was the best opening I have ever seen on Outdoors with the Morgan’s!!
Especially being cooped up in an apartment for 4 weeks!
Thank you both so very much!
Sincerely
Rod
I have been very happy with Ready Seal stain/sealer that I applied to my 6ft privacy fence and driveway gate 7 years ago.
So adorable that Piper likes to play in the sawdust. I could watch her play all day
Mike we have identical trucks. I just got mine a month ago but so far, i love it. Mine is a 2017.
For the benefit of guys towing with their trucks, can you do an episode that explains the whole GBWR/Cargo Capacity/Towing Capacity calculations? Use your F150 and the black trailer with the load of rock you just picked up.
I have a 2001 Ram 1500 that I've owned since it was brand new and right after I got it I put that active suspension on it and it made a giant different from pulling trailers and also the way it handled when it was empty. Never had to adjust it never had to do anything so you know you only adjust it when you first put it on and then you're done. Great idea who ever thought of it
If you want a simple, inexpensive treatment that will weather, you can try a equal parts turpentine and linseed oil. It will soak in well and is easy to apply with brush, roller, spray. You can also add some pigment if you want a semi transparent color.
I'm a firm believer that if a tractor does what you need it to do it's a good tractor. The brand or the color doesn't really matter to me. My favorite tractor that I use quite a bit is a 1979 Ford 3600. That old thing is quite the workhorse! In addition to it I also run a couple of John Deere tractors, mainly because the dealer/service is nearby.
Good morning Morgans. It's finally a nice day here today on my day off in the Hudson Valley NY. Can't wait to get back in the woods today . BTW, I watched Buckins video on chainsaw/powersaw sharpening and it helped me tremendously. I highly recommend it. Hoping you get the orange tractor back since I still have mine too, but you're always full of surprises so we're waiting. HI Hunter and have a day.
Thinking of putting the road master suspension on my next truck....keep us updated on how it is and or do a video review of it.
It's so good to see how good you two work together on projects, in a world full of selfishness and putting the other spouse down it's really refreshing to see a couple that shares the same interests and a genuine love for each other. Mike I hope you appreciate what a real treasure you have with Melissa. Also I see you are tractorless so I didn't remember seeing when you got rid of your Kubota tractor you have before the RK tractors. I think you are going back with Kubota. God Bless your whole family.
I really like watching you two work together so well. One thing I would like, you have done this at least once, is to announce the title and musician of the music you play during your video. I enjoy the music and the info that you produce. Keep up the good work !!
There are a lot of good tractors out there now but it really depends on what you need one for . I looked at them all and decided on a Branson 3520R back in 2015 . In less than 2 years it had 900hrs on it clearing 7 acres of property , building a 1/2 acre pond , a 1000' driveway , laying 1000' water line , digging a foundation for the new home , bush hogging and digging up countless stumps with the backhoe . It takes it easier now and has 966 hrs total so far . It's been a beast and well worth what I paid . It was going to be between a Kioti and Mahindra before I ran across the Branson .
Thanks Mike for the Roadmaster Active Suspension Kit Info, Researched and Well Worth it. 👍
Mike & Melissa - Looks like I missed a couple of good quotes from you while watching the video. Oh well, I got most of it, and am enjoying you stretching out the mystery of the new tractors. Blessings to you both, and the family. Hi Hunter.
I'd stain that green-wood shed inside and out. It'll maintain even moisture and not take to rot on the inside of the building, especially towards the ground. I toss a piece of plastic sheet down to cover the gravel, otherwise stain drips all over the gravel and it looks kind of sloppy.
Once I get a radial-arm saw I want another big toy with Woodmizer on the side. LoL Looks like a lot of fun.
Great job on the shed. Real straight and square. It ain't easy.
I'll buy some of that cherry wood if it's for sale. I use 1 1\2" to 2" stock in short lengths for knife handles. Cherry works real good for knife and machete handles.
Another great video. I hope you picked up the rubber tips for your moisture meter when you checked the red pine on your trailer. That is how I lost mine, although the snap on cap still protects the sharp points. I hope you get your tractors soon. Enjoy the day
Use burnt motor oil to stain & treat the shelter. Two coats do a good job. Maybe a little darker at first but a little time it will fade a little. Enjoy the channel. 👍
4:00 you should cut two pieces of ply wood to lay in your dump bed because loading stone, dirt, gravel in it is going to eat the metal bed up. To keep it from sliding out use some clear caulk, RTV, under the back piece, thats what I did and my bed is still rust free and the ply wood lasted 4 years. Even some thick card board could work too. I paid 4,550. for mine and yours is way better. I even tarp my trailer to keep rain out of it.
Good video guys and Mrs Morgan Never loose your smile it is so up lifting
I could swear by the accent that you were from WPA and your description confirmed that. Great videos! Fun to watch!
JD Baby !!!!! I have the same moisture meter and yes low end but works excellent. PLEASE get some of those great looking hats in...I need one :)
Please be safe out there and God Bless the Morgan family
Mike, what tractor implements do you have that were not part of the RK deal? I'm guessing firewood bucket, land plane, grapple bucket and maybe box blade. Been watching Melissa's videos, but you know, she is at her best when you two are together! Maybe it's a guy thing. Whatever tractor you go with you will make them proud! 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
No drama Mike. However, you're great with cliffhangers! Thanks for the videos. Keep em coming.
Hi Mike & Melissa! Glad to hear the new tractor is not a Bobcat, because if it was you might as well have gone with a New Holland, since they are making the first generation of tractors for Bobcat. Plus as I understand it, Bobcat tried making tractors once before and got out of the market, so I wouldn’t trust them to stay in the market. A lot of commenters are hoping it will be a Kioti and I hear they make really good tractors. I would have considered one myself, but they don’t have a strong dealership network in the Deep South yet. I’m still happy with my Kubota L3901. Looking forward to see what your next tractor is. Stay safe and well!
I bought one of those General moisture meters after one of your earlier videos. It does a great job for firewood and is reasonably priced.
Hey Melissa thank you for your showing of the Furminator. It works great with my cat.
My experience tells me if I think it’s ready it’s not, wait a little longer. Patience pays off big.
Your pup in the sawdust is the best thing I’ve seen in a long time lol 👍🏼
Good job both Mike and Melissa.
I would like to see a New Holland tractor on your videos. I have had one for about 14 years now and they just cant be beat.
Love watching you guys work on your place. Over here on the west coast we are inspired to do a bunch of the same on our 80 acre spread! Have a blessed day😊
Benjamin Moore ArborCoat Oil Base . Its awesome. Also can look for Cabot's Oil Base Preservative. Oil is the best. It comes in colors and natural. Seals the wood from weather and sunlight. I used it on 1x8 tongue and groove knotty pine for siding. It lasts for years.
Way to keep us in suspense Morgan’s. Good job. Looking forward to it.
Good morning Mike and Melissa. Enjoying my coffee and your video this rainy morning. I've had great success with Sansin Enviro Stain. Its a water based log and siding stain. Not sure if there are any dealers close to you, but it can be shipped. Good luck on the tractor deal. 👍
Hard to beat a L35 kubota, backhoe big enough to do almost anything, then it comes off for attachments. Mines a 95 and never had an issue beyond busted lines and steering hub seals. Dealer tries to buy it back all the time!
Glad I found this channel. I'm very interested in the RK 37.
Melissa I reckon it’s a Kabota tractor from NZ. My daughter loves your dogs she’s 21 awesome girl to me cheers Dino
Love the dogs playing in the saw dust. 👍
Good morning to you all. Great video and thanks for sharing with us. Fred.
I see the dogs have figured out what to do with the sawdust from the Woodmizer!
I use sawdust in place of "oil dry" and "sweeping compound".
You might check with your municipal garage and/or implement dealers if they could use it.
what do you do with all of your sawdust that you generate with your saw mill? Loaded question
Branson tractor. I bought the new 2515h couple months ago and the wife can't get me off of it. I love it.
I thought it was Bobcat because they are trying to get into the market and have their first tractors in that market in years. It seems like they could get GREAT exposure and benefit a lot from what you could offer.
Can't wait to see what it is. My next guess would be you going back to Kubota since you like them. Can't wait for "The Reveal"!
Have a day!
It's a dilemma. It's less bending over for the tender if the mill is cribbed up so the slabs come off at waist level; but some of the controls become hard to use for the sawyer. Was there reasoning for your choice passed on at the factory training? Maybe that was already discussed and I missed it..
If you want a good tractor look at the Branson 3520h .This isn't a little plastic John Deere 32hp. All bobcat forks fit with the loader it weighs around 5200lbs. I is rated 2100lbs at the pin it will lift more with the snow blower on back for a counter weight. They have larger ones with a cab. I run a 6' snow blower in the winter I love the hydrostatic drive in front of the 3 speed transmission .
I'm over in Worthington. Mahindra tractors are becoming increasingly popular in our area.
Love the pups in the sawdust pile. Made my whole day better. Thanks!
Love seeing Piper and Ruger enjoying the sawdust.
Mike I do have a suggestion for wood stain.I would use a Exterior Deck and Siding Stain. There is different brands and they all do well. Woodsman Translucent Oil for Natural or Pressure Treated wood decks and siding, and they come in different color tone's. Redwood or Cedar tone and others. It is thin and easy to spray on with a siphon sprayer or hand pump-up plastic sprayer like you would use to spray weeds. Works well. Try it.
I loved watching your dog having fun in the saw dust pile.
Love the dog's. They are having a great time. can't wait to see the stain. awesome shed.
Peppers playing in the sawdust is the best part of my day so far.
Hey Mike, Question: What happens to all the wood with the bark on it?
My guess is a John Deere 4066R with a cab. Similar in size to the RK55. Also, it was John Deere that allowed Mike to showcase the skid loader and forestry mower. So they have already worked together. Mike told us earlier he has grown to really appreciate the cab tractor since he cleared larger trails with the skid loader. And he probably needs 50+ hp to run the new chipper and skidding winch effectively. That's my educated guess! Impatiently waiting to hear the news! Ha!
With inventories building up, even if not, tractor dealerships or rental stores may be willing to rent some tractor time. So there really is no super rush to complete a deal. Beside guessing there are plenty of non tractor related projects to work on.
some places are open but only 1 allowed in the store tho may 8 th is the opening date for more to open up
I hope the new tractor is a kioti! I have a dk5510hs and love it!
i've had the roadmaster suspension system on my truck for over 12 years. it's a great system
"I'm not into drama" as Mike makes us wait till the end of the video to hear what isn't coming, lol. Can't wait to see what IS coming!
That is drama!
"Not into Drama" ya right up to the end.
Don't be a hater people it's called keeping you tune in to the video until the end. Movies do it to. Don't be bad to Mike and Melissa. Go team Hunter. I will say this in my opinion Mike and Melissa will make sure the next brand of tractor to come on there property will be a good fit for what Mike and Melissa do on there land. I personally hope the next tractor brand is Red not RK red. Mike you and family I hope are all well and love the videos. Have a great day be safe.
Maybe I missed it, but I thought Mike was going to eliminate two tractors. I only heard Bobcats. Anyway I’m thinking JCB ON TRACKS will be on the job @ the Morgan’s
@@mannysustaita6585 He also said it wouldn't be RK tractors again.
Two things here Mike, where do you go for metal roofing? And just a wild guess on tractor brand, based on someone who may wanting their name brand spread more, is Kioti?
We run the roadmaster on our you 15 passenger vans for years. Work great.
Looking forward to seeing your new tractor!
Hi ..... You asked about stain ..... I live in Canada and a large majority of log home contractors use Sansin Stain. I have used many stains in the 33 years of owning a log home and Sansin stands up the best. Log home companies from all over Canada swear by it. I believe there is a dealer in PA.
FYI: if your moisture meter is anything like the one I've got, you might want to take a close look at the rubber caps for the pins, and see if they don't have holes on the working end. On mine, they do and they are designed so that they *don't need to be removed to use the meter*. The points stick through the holes, and the rubber just folds up as you push the pins in. The pins are long enough that you get an accurate reading even with that extra little spacing that the rubber covers make.
So, you just leave the rubber caps on. They're there to help you avoid scraping yourself with the meter, but you can just leave them on when you're checking moisture levels, and so no risk of forgetting to put the back on.
That's assuming, of course, that you did eventually remember to go pick the caps up off the trailer (several other people also pointed out that you left them there :) ).
Good morning Morgan's. Time to enjoy another great video while drinkin' BRCC coffee with Mike N' Melissa, on this chilly morning.
Giles County.
@@mikemcguire8351 Virginia?? My father was raised on No Business Creek in Giles County. Born in Mercer County.
I have the same meter for measuring firewood. I was told to measure with the grain instead of across to get a true reading. Have you ever tried measuring both ways to see if there is a difference
There must be a difference since the ends always dry before the middle. Would be interesting to know how much.
Love the dogs playing in the saw dust. Looked like hump day .LOL
Hi
Enjoy your channel, reminds me of home.
Born and raised on a dairy farm in Bellefonte,Pa.
Graduated Penn State in 1965, live in South MS now and
work in the casino business when we are open.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Alittle more info on red pine. The red pine mill we sell our logs to cuts 4x4 6x6 and 8x8 on a scragg saw mill. The square are PTed and shipped to places like home depot for fence posts. From what I was told red pine takes PRessure treating very well.
Good to know, how big do your red pines get? Around here about 20" maybe 22" then they just seem to start dying
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans we are about the same here but can be smaller depending on the soil. (Pretty much all out RP here is plantations) also here in Ontario we have a root rot disease that can make a mess out of a woodlot too.
Look forward to watching every morning. By the way I just turned 80 on April 15th. Have a Day
Keith Buckbee HAPPY 80th BIRTHDAY!!!🎈🎉🎂🎁 Hope you have many more!!
That dog playing and inhaling that sawdust is no different than a human inhaling it.
Id say a Kioti tractor would be a good fit! I had never seen or heard of them and wasnt really serous about getting one, till I looked at them! Came home with a Kioti! Very old and well proven powertrains, and the tractors have alot of standard stuff others charge alot for! Its been over a year and not 1 problem! None of the hype at a reasonable price!People can say what they want but im paying the money so dont care! compare all with a fair look and you will see the appeal!
Don't know of any dealerships close in South Western PA close to Butler County where they reside.
I would say Kioti would be a swell addition. But then I am a bit biased.
Wondering how you are charged for the rock. Is it by the yard or weight. Watched the loader dump a lot of his load back to the pile.
Kioti would make an excellent tractor for the Morgans.
Have a day.
Good stuff fella. Puppies love the sawdust. Thank you for sharing your day.
Dogs in sawdust, so sweet! So no RK & no Bobcat, we are at the edge of our seats. Our choices are still in the running! Not a decision that would be easy to make. God Bless.
The Golden Retrievers love the Sawdust!
Michael Green That’s the truth! I guess they needed that second pile farther from the action to be comfortable playing in it. I’m a little surprised they like their faces in it, but they sure do.
Looked uncomfortable in the eyes.
5hank you for that footage...missing our last Doxy so, she used to do that with lawn clippings and leaves! our current rescue is a Lab/Basset mix and loves the snow.
Like another viewer said, you could really use a skid loader, especially for all the gravel you spread. Hopefully a loader company reaches out to you. Of course you still need a tractor too, one can never have too many toys.... I mean tools to get the job done!
