Lore For Noobs : The Horde Parts 1 Through 15 compiled into one epic video for your viewing pleasure, learn the story of the Horde in a new and creative way from Pride!
Kagarin? not really don't get me wrong there's lots of it but it just feels like they made up a bunch of names and put it in a blender to get a lore. lord of the rings has much better lore imo.
But the wow lore was in books before the game...... at least as far as i remember there were even a manga series about the lich king before the expansion was announced
*sigh* the first warcraft book was released in 2001 .. the first warcraft game was released in 1994 .. and your manga point holds no valid argument, yea they made a manga, but it was based off the game. . .instead of the other way around. How is this simple logic flying over your head? No video game to date has the amount of lore warcraft holds, Elder scroll's would really be the only big contender. .
To be Honest.... World of Warcraft, or more exactly WarCraft is has one of the most interesting and richest Lore I ever seen in my life, or at least from Games, im not sure how much of inspiration does LOTR made into WC, but even that, i really like that is not exactly like (Horde is the Bad Guys and Alliance is the Good Guys) every race and each Alliances has their own Heroes and Villains and that's what really makes it more interesting than any other VideoGame Lore i ever see.
The cards were a pretty nice use of visuals. Way to keep the viewer's interest. Were you ever planning to update this since the Mists of Pandaria expansion?
While I think this is the best (brief and to-the-point) lore video available, it's missing out on some extremely important points; the largest of which is the war against the scourge, that happened simultaneously to the Burning Legion’s attempt at claiming Azeroth (during what is known as the Third War - Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos), which in turn leads to confusion at around 41:00. The confusion being - “How did the Forsaken come to be, and how are they different form the scourge?” I understand that, at least according to the title of the video, this is told from the Horde's point of view, and that technically the whole part of the story that relates to Arthas’ corruption and to the Forsaken breaking apart from the scourge is told from the Alliance’s perspective. But still, I think it's a crucial piece of info to put out there with all the rest, especially as a way of building the background to the part described in 47:20. I think I would've been completely lost had I not been well aware of the story of Arthas' corruption in seek of vengeance against Mal'Ganis, and, in turn, him becoming the Lich King and occupying Icecrown Citidel. So, to those who feel lost as to what I described, I suggest you watch a compilation of Warcraft III cinematics (search for “The Story of Warcraft pre-WoW (movie edit) part 1/2”, and just cut straight to the Warcraft III parts, since it all happened during Reign of Chaos). Also, you left out a HUGE chunk of info (at around 31:34) regarding Thrall’s escape from slavery, coming of power and the creation the New Horde, with the help of Grom and Orgrim, and then you just jumped on along to the part where Thrall's heading west to Kalimdor because of The Prophet’s (Medivh’s) advice. So, to those left somewhat confused as to how Thrall escaped and did all of that, I suggest again that you go to the video I mentioned above and read what’s written in the part called “interlude”, directly prior to the events of Warcraft III. And, finally, you left out everything, and I mean everything, regarding Illidan, prior to the events of WoW: TBC. That includes Illidan's forbidden release from imprisonment by Tyrande Whisperwind in order to help the war against the Burning Legion, his betrayal in search for power (again), which ultimately led to his escape into hiding in the Outlands after failing to stop, now king, Arthas from becoming the Lich King, plus the reasons for Lady Vashj’s and Kael’thas Sunstrider’s loyalty towards him. All-in-all, great job! Very informative, lovely format, and without a doubt a tremendous effort. Also, lovely speech at the end. Gave me goosebumps ;)
I just have to commend you Gydeon Rozen for your thorough feedback. As someone just browsing youtube and seeing this as a suggested video, it's extremely informative to see the flaws in a well crafted video especially when having to do with Lore. I didn't think I'd care as much to look into the missing pieces you pointed out but after realizing the honest effort that went into both this video and your feedback... I just had to and am now even more inspired by this truly creative game and universe. Major props dude. Keep doing your thing!
Thank you for spending those countless hours putting videos like this together. For those of us who started playing WoW just recently, this video brings a lot of backlight on who is who and what is going on.
I am a returning player who has not played WoW since Wrath, videos like this were few and far between and with all the feature creep and power creep, disjointed story and story that flat out just contradicts it's self, videos like this are a life saver, I can just concentrate on levelling up and consume the lore out of game. thanks. I will never play Wow anything but casually now, I savage raid in FF14 but I love that this world still exists and as different as it is, I can still go and chill in the Grizzly Hills.
yes, during their stay in alliance they taught humans arts of magic and thus we have human mages. in return alliance helped them with the forest trolls.
Only 9 minutes in and I'm completely lost... I think this video is probably better for people who already know the story and just want a refresher. For new people (or noobs) it's really difficult to follow. Just a series of events with very little in the way of motivations or explanations of what everything is. Also, the writing on the cards only make it more confusing by giving vague details without context.
Well Orc's got they'r reasons that wasn't stated in this lore to do what they did. First of All Ner'zhul was tricked by Kil'jaeden, to corupt the Orc's and kill all the Draenei (Kil revange for not folowing him). Coruption spred to the lad drying planet and kiling plant life. Orcs have no choice if they want to survival but to move to another world. Also they bloodlust in first war and so one, was becos of deamos corruption (Mannoroth blood). And one more thing Ogr's orginated from Dreanor not Azeroth. Lastly being deaply interested is something make yuo a fan o geek and not gay.
ateva84 On the other hand, I cannot blame the Alliance for being "dicks" to the Orcs. After all, the Horde slaughtered countless people in Azeroth and destroyed their kingdoms.
12 years later… This was legit my first foray into WoW lore. The first video I ever remember actually paying attention to. It immediately cemented my love for the Horde. And through this I found Jesse, Crendor, and they have been a part of my life ever since! Through WoW, to listening to Cox’n’Crendor while playing Monster Hunter, to FFXIV, and beyond. 12 whole years!
Illidan didn't really serve the burning legion while in outland. The illidary demons were outcasts of the burning legion and Illidan was gathering all these forces to ward off the wrath if Kiljaeden. Illidan had in fact enslaved Magtheradon in order to turn the orcs trapped in outland into fell orcs. Kaelthas was the one who served the burning legion.
jesus christ, it was because of the circumstances. Pit 500 raging orcs from the old horde against 775 footmen and the answer is pretty obvious; the horde wins 99% of the time.
I've never paid attention to Lore..but after seeing this video I realize how much background and knowledge I was missing...who was this boss or that boss and why did this or that happen all falls into place and makes more sense of what came to past..thanks for series..GJ:))
Can I just take a moment to appreciate and thank you for making these videos. Your narrative skills increase the interest and enthusiasm I have for WoW Lore. I have read the novel : Beyond the dark portal, which is a very good book in my opinion but you do a very good job of explaining everything clearly. So thank you.
Why is this using the card game to explain it? I don't get it considering how horrible the card game is. exampe the art for Gul'Dan is not Gul'Dan.. but a unnamed orc Gul'Dan has always been depected as having a white beard and wearing a hood before this.
Xandia™ ˆ Legends of Norrath which has been doing this for the EverQuest franchise with just about the same play style years before this ever came out.
darkmay200 You pick a story arc and stick to it, instead of constantly introducing more and more new elements until it is no longer recognizable and confusing.
warcraft lore is so rich and so pleasing and this is why i still love questing and leveling toons. it will always be one of my most favorite aspects of this great game
Don't judge me but I really loved the cards as visuals.. made it soooo much easier to follow and made complicated lore seem rather simple :) thanks for the vid.
This is why World of Warcraft is so freaking popular :DD The story and everything is so proudly awesome and if you play with horde or aliance u know that u can proudly say its name and contrinue being good as u want it to be. I still can proudly say, with my Blood Elf Paladin, FOR THE HORDE!!!
You did a good job on this mate. I have been with the series since Orc and Humans. Still have the original manuals. You did some reading. Good graphics. Clean presentation in a non-annoying fashion. 9.2/10.
I'm noticing a patter of stupidity in the horde. Every one is tricked or forced to do something to change something to kill some one, ITS AWESOME lol Also, good job i feel educated. :)
i for one am glad it's taking a long time, there's just too much room for error, and like you said it's so expansive that there's a ton of amazing arcs to choose from. imagine if they picked something lame like "a standard 5 man group tries to tackle rfk" or "lets do something from the expansions"
I"ll say it again. He HAS been removed from power. A good take on justice. All criminals if not killed in their capture should stand trial for their crimes and then if deemed guilty by their peers should be given equal punishment compared to their crimes.
I highly suggest reading the Warcraft novels. They hide a bunch of information regarding the entirety of the lore. They´re very well written and highly entertaining if you're interested in WoW lore.
That was very helpful actually. I have been playing WOW every since Vanilla and I was never that much into the lore until now so its good to know a lot more now; especially with the up-coming expansion.
Agreed. However I enjoyed the death knight lore when I first made one. Back when hero quest r class quest were more defend and around, it made you feel important and not a shell.
Having played since Vanilla, how can the lore NOT have soaked in? You must have skipped all the text boxes, conversations and cut scenes from the very start! The entire game (and franchise in general) is centered around it's Lore...
its sad that people have played wow for 8 years and still they barely know anything about the lore . So thanks for this video and i hope those noobs watch it :D
I love the Lore of the Warcraft universe. Its so rich and awesome! I've watched this particular piece a half dozen times now! I also really dig the Sylvanas piece as well!! Keep up the good work! You should do one that covers all of WoW up to and most of MoP. Please and Thank You!
This is fantastic. Easy to understand, Fun to watch, A great way to learn the HUGE and Rich Lore of World of Warcraft, Thank you for this great video Liked, Subscribed. :)
I watched all of it and i havent even played the game once....
Hand's down the most in depth video game lore you'll find.
There's reasons why they've been the king of the MMORPG genre for the past decade C:
Kagarin? not really don't get me wrong there's lots of it but it just feels like they made up a bunch of names and put it in a blender to get a lore. lord of the rings has much better lore imo.
johnshere I said video game lore . . . The LOTR video games which are based off the movies, which are based off the books, do not count at all..

I don't really see any connection between LOTR and WarCraft. Both share ancient Nordic mythology like the orcs and other races but that's about it.
llucllumador Warcraft 1 was heavily influence by Tolkiens Lord of the rings, so he might be drawing his comparison from that
@@Popikaify oh boy
Dude you're a true loremaster of the horde as I'm proudly am Lok'tar Ogar
When TH-cam recommends you a video from 8 years ago because you watched one Nobbel video. Still I love Jessie
I've never played WoW. I know almost nothing about it. But I can see myself watching this again. It was very captivating.
man, talk about a blast from the past. this just wound up on my recommended list.
The cards were a pretty nice use of visuals. Way to keep the viewer's interest. Were you ever planning to update this since the Mists of Pandaria expansion?
This series has moved to the channel "TSGamer"

This would be such a good film
+Monkeypanda047 Hold on to your butt! Warcraft movie coming 2016.
Lol!
King Xerxes is it still coming ?

If blood elves are really high elves.... does that mean the blood elves were for the alliance at one point?
They were in Warcraft3 ^.^
For like 2 days...
yes, during their stay in alliance they taught humans arts of magic and thus we have human mages. in return alliance helped them with the forest trolls.
***** I had forgotten about that until yesterday.
***** Well I watched about 9 hours of lore videos yesterday that's why I remembered lol.
6:40 is probably my favorite moment ever cuz I totally agree
Rise up brothers and sisters of the Horde! Blood and Glory await us! Best faction with the best lore. Thanks for your great video!
Misheard last words:
Grom: "I have peed myself"
Only 9 minutes in and I'm completely lost... I think this video is probably better for people who already know the story and just want a refresher. i use to watch this everyday...its been 5 years and im so glad i found this again
dat Chen Stormstout card tho
I knew there was more to the story... My ex use to argue with me that the alliance were dicks to the Horde. Now I know why lol
.... why? because I took interest to the lore behind a game I play?
kay, you're strange.
Well Orc's got they'r reasons that wasn't stated in this lore to do what they did. you can say for the horde but hey.... alliance still kicked your ass almost every time:)
Go away
Like...when...Allys are soo incompetent they can't even repair Stormeind after 5 FUCKING YEARS

Weeeell... Maybe it´s coming up ;)
Many things happened different in the movie.. :(
yeap..Blackhand's, king Llane's and Medivh's deaths for example..
medvih died in the lore to
y that early
Love this ! For the HORDE ! ❤️
What happened to jesse's voice?
Has anyone noticed that Grom's tongue looks like a burger patty?
I CAN'T BREATHE
+Ekin Kiziltan It actually is a burger patty, that is why he is always salivating from the mouth. "Mmmmm!.... This is, a tasty burger!"
Can I just take a moment to appreciate and thank you for making these videos.

Like many who have come back to WoW after so many years, thank you for the short history FOR THE HORDE!
none of this shit makes sense
Fantasy.
Thats what happens when Blizzard just makes shit up as they go along.
Play Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne, then it'll make sense
MisterSinister
that's how all storys are made...? How else do you make a fictionally story?
darkmay200 You pick a story arc and stick to it, instead of constantly introducing more and more new elements until it is no longer recognizable and confusing.
Its been 7 years and I still hold this as my comfort video
warcraft lore is so rich and so pleasing and this is why i still love questing and leveling toons. it will always be one of my most favorite aspects of this great game
Don't judge me but I really loved the cards as visuals.. made it soooo much easier to follow and made complicated lore seem rather simple :) thanks for the vid.
I just watched all of this by accident.
I'm impressed at how well made and written this was.
"But these weren't those blue eyed, yellow belly scourge Death Knights you kids are used to. No." At that moment, I added this to favorites.
Still the best style lore videos, please come back.
Amazing video. Very fun to watch and really well compiled.
Thank you for making this this really helps me understand whats going on a bit better.
The quote Grom made when he killed Mannaroth was great when I first heard it and just as great here!
This was awesome. Nice to relive all this lore again.
Thanks for bringing me up to speed Simon's brother!
Say what you will about WoW, or just Warcraft in general, but there is no denying that it has some of the coolest lore in any media.
this... this was beautiful to listen to.
thank you for putting the effort and time to make something like this.
This is why WoW has so many subscribers.
It's amazing lore.
This is really cool !
I haven't played WoW or Warcraft 2, 3 for years but I really enjoyed this.
Thanks.
Thanks a lot ! Great video , i've learned a lot about the horde ! FOR THE HORDE!
Really good,thanks for making this!!!
If Blizzard ever wanted this would make good tv series.
You did a good job on this mate. I have been with the series since Orc and Humans. Still have the original manuals. You did some reading. Good graphics. Clean presentation in a non-annoying fashion. 9.2/10.
I want the music from the intro so bad, it’s so badass!! I watch this video on loop just to hear it (And the good ol’ OG Lore)
I remember when I was like 10 or 11 I saw this video and thought it was the coolest shit ever
Just Awesome!
Can't wait to see updated to recent patches and next followup story to next expansion.
Very good narrative. Thanks.
Without a doubt my most favorite faction in warcraft.
FOR THE HORDE! * orcish roar/ screech *

Hello I listen from 16 to 28 years old I thank you for my lore memory
This is a great video. WoW lore should be part of the literary canon.
The last bit, I loved it. For the horde!
Your light country accent made understanding this disoriented story even more complicated. But I liked it.
i think im gonna record this and play it before i go to bed...dude u totally rock
When I put on a good set of headphones and listened to this there is like a faint satanic sounding echo on your voice haha
I highly suggest reading the Warcraft novels.
They hide a bunch of information regarding the entirety of the lore. They´re very well written and highly entertaining if you're interested in WoW lore.
Awesome story. Most of this I knew from Warcraft III but, I knew nothing of the 2nd war because I never played WCII. Thanks
this is GREAT ! i love the audio cutscenes
very well put and yes... FOR THE HORDE!!
I cannot click more than one 'like' I'm sorry >^< You just made a million things clearer for me about WoW lore.
Awesome video.. I didn't know many things said in this video. Makes me a proud Horde player though!
i teared up @ 38:18 when you played the audio...Good memories... :')
you don't even sound like the same person jesse!!!!
That's not Jesse that's Pride, back when they shared the channel.
Thrall...the blood haze has lifted...the demons fire has burnt out in my veins...i...have...freed myself.
Chilling...
awesome story and explanation jesse!

So i knew nothing about this now i do THANKS!!!!!!!

this is amazingly made!!! i love the way you explain the story, and the cards are really great =) anyone could understand this!
Best 51 mins of my LIFE! :P
Awesome compilation.
It's their badass rating I think, a measurement of how badass a character is.
It might be too soon because things are just developing in MoP, but I want an updated vid or addition to this one! Good stuff! For the HORDE!
Watching this again whilst waiting for Amazon to ship out my Warcraft books. :)
you sir are a great story teller, pls make more
LOLOLOLOLOL...'An ostler has a mood and he kicks the dog. A mage has his moods and a ton disappears.'
