Quick question I was planning on going to Prime, but They say I gotta show up with my permit, and Im like I cant take the permit test without getting a DOT physical. But on the site they like we(prime) are gonna set you up with a DOT appointment. But all I got from the guy on the phone was Just show up with the permit. but on the site they say they pay for it.
You can do the permit test without the dot card in some states, I live in New York and that’s what I did. I did test first then the dmv gave me papers about doing my dot physical. Then when I get dot card, I go back to the dmv and give them and they said ok they will now mail me my permit license in the mail. It’s best you have both permit and dot before coming to prime. I don’t know if some states want you to have dot before doing permit test, but I know some will let you do the test the. Hold on to the permit until you give them dot card. You can google dot physical certified clinic in your area and get that done same day. I would advice don’t show up to Prime without your dot card and permit. If your state want you to have dot before taking the test, then go get your dot first then.
Is there parking on the sim I want to know because I start with orientation on the 3rd of March 2024 been driving for 6months OTR solo want to k ow what to expect.
Do you mean simulator? You will go through orientation to hear about the company and what to expect, I never had a cdl going into prime so I cannot tell you definitely what to expect as a person already having a cdl. What I know for sure they will check your driving record, criminal history, work history and drug screen. Once you pass those steps your almost in. If you decide to lease a truck with prime and be your own boss, they will help you with everything as it relates to setting up your business legally. They will also teach you classes about running a business with trucks. I dont know the details what they teach but I know it’s beneficial. You will skip some of the stuff I did as a new cdl student, that’s for sure

@@quintoncrockett966 no the simulator is just driving forward. The simulator is to test if you can follow speed limit and read road signs to know if trucks are allowed on the route or not. 😀

Hi Romane. Do Prime reimburse for the DOT physical or is that on the student?
I didn’t asked for reimbursement so I don’t know if they do. They paid for everything else though. Dot physical fit me was $120

Wats a dot card how to get it ?
A Dot card is a card to show that you are in good health to drive a truck, at the dot physical they will test your health, for example your eyes, ears, if you have high blood pressure or any other illness that can affect you driving a simi truck. You will do this dot physical exam at a urgent care or any clinic that is certified to do dot physical. When you complete the dot physical exam they will give you a dot card that shows you are in good health to operate a semi truck.
How was the miles and pay after you got hired on
For me it’s good so far. I live out here on the road so I keep running. The money is good for me, I have no huge expenses, so I pretty much have almost all my paycheck to save.

I be making money. Plus I do TH-cam so I get money off referrals. To give you an amount I won’t do that. Not even my girlfriend can ask me that question when I am ready to select one of these girls to be my girl. she just gotta know money is there to take care of her and make her happy. 😂 but in one of my videos I did mention that I made $1400 one week and that’s the first and last time I was going to talk about how much money I make publicly 😃😎

Prime is a great company to start out with, especially if you’re on TH-cam you can make extra money on refferals, plus growing your channel. I was watching one of your videos when you were doing your pre trip 😂 congratulations, proud of you. ☺️

Is it required to get a TWIC card?
I heard them talk about twic card, I don’t have one, but in the future I will try and get one.
