He brings a valid point. If that map is authentic and names the arctic circle on it. That’s significant and should be investigated further.

I happen to be a big fan of maps and I would really love it if Graham Hancock would publish a book of maps. 😊 Like an ancient world atlas archive of ancient maps that would be dope.

Although mapping these regions during the last Ice Age indicates a civilization that is more advanced than is currently recognized, navigating these regions was much easier during the Ice Age than it is during a Holocene because ocean levels were 120 meters lower meaning shallower water and more land masses world wide.

i've heard this argument, that from the southern tippedcountries they could've followed an ice coast? I' haven't seen these ice age maps, so.. guess work and heresay here.

Christopher Columbus had a map to get the Americas, created by the German cartographer Henricus Martellus. The Vikings had already been to Nova scotia and Newfoundland.

Columbus also paid a visit to Ireland prior to his voyage. The theory is he searched for records of St Brennen who many believe traveled to the New Word during 900ad(?). Perhaps to research other older records or maps from Vikings, etc.

It looks like they did not have to sail to find Antarctica on the Orontis Finaus Map of the 1500's. If the sea level was 400 feet lower at that time, South America's and Antarctica's land was very close together, if not touching.

People have been brilliant from the beginning. The first humans mental faculties were just as capable and possibly more capable than the most brilliant people of today. They had the ability to observe and ask questions. Without influence of "established knowledge " they were able to envision fantastic things. Come up with the most amazing sciences and art and everything. Also, some of what they envisioned failed and even led to tragedy. Today we benefit even from the lost knowledge. We may not know how they used to do things or why in some cases. But we have safety measures.

Well, I'm a fan of Carlson. I see him as intellectually honest and superior to people like Dribble who made a number of dishonest claims to attack Carlson. But no to the advanced latitude speculation! If you want to feel smart compared to Dribble or Carlson for a few minutes, think about what YOU know and apply it here. How do you measure speed in water? Knots of course! Do you remember the derivation of the term? Sailors would tie knots in a rope and tie one end to a floating item like a stick. They would then either guesimate the time or use and hourglass to set an interval. From that and compass headings or the postition of the sun or stars they could get distance. If you know your speed(knots) and drive SSE from SF at 65 mph for 6 hours, you could map where LA is and all points inbetween. You'd have the diistance accurate to within a couple of miles.
I could speculate on the distortions in the maps. Could be something just as simple as the knots method of measuring speed does not allow for the ocean currents but as a get older I'm less inclined to do the work, so it remains speculation.

@@MrCarpediem6 Dribble flashed a chart of contamination that showed ~metal contamination in ice cores that was related to human activites and said there was no data that showed this prior to the Dryas. IIRC, the chart he showed only went back a couple of thousand years so it was false evidence of absence. Carlson in a rebutal showed a number of studies that extended to the time in question that showed there was the exact evidence Dribble said didn't exist. Carlson hedged his bets, said it didn't prove human metalurgy was going on, could have been volcanic eruption. At best, Dribble was uninformed. At worst he Googled it to find the article he used that actually didn't show the period in question, ignored the articles that showed up that proved he was wrong, and went cherry picking data. This wasn't the only thing, the ~3,000,000 mapped ship wrecks was an estimate. Actual number is ~250,000. He also lied about associating Carlson with White Supremicists. Really embarassing that he assiciates himself with scientists all things considered. He seems to be suffering from Carlson Derangent Syndrome! 😁 Not a logical mind, Ad Hominen attacks are bush league, they aren't proofs.
