Joop is one of the best fragramces ever made.
And every channel that tests a cologne with a direct spray then direct smell test right after is being premature.
Where is the channel that applies properly (spray ONCE into a clean cotton swab then rub on the skin) and test properly (after 1 minute, ten minutes, 5 hours, ten hours, and after a hot day). Joop exels 3-7 hours after application. If you can smell the bright sweet tones, you have on too much.
I respect that.
I love this scent because it is a strong, good scent that lasts for ages, and best of all, it is a relatively cheap fragrance. I’ve lost count on how many bottles I’ve used of this stuff.

How does one get through two bottles of Joop in one lifetime?
This is one of those love it or hate it fragrances. I'm 53 now and back in the early 90's I remember this being the go-to clubbing scent for many dudes. I avoided it then because I didn't want to "smell like everyone else." But now it has become obscure, almost niche, and I use it every so often, and I always get the "what is that?" question. No other fragrances I've ever worn beats this in performance, which is good or bad, again, depending on whether you like this scent! Final note: to really appreciate this scent, you have to smell it on your skin and let it work its way in. I like the way it mixes with my body's chemistry after about an hour or so, and it smells way different than it does on paper.
The women LOVE it!!! And it last all day long, and I do construction. and still get compliments from the ladies.. So what do u recommend?
If you enjoy brother, wear it. Have no shame in your game. Its a solid fragrance, just not for me. I would recommend something like Dior Homme 🔥

I'm telling you,in Germany,the scent is just perfect. All of my friends and even my family compliments me,in addition,the fragrance costs 80 euros in Germany which is about 90$,a very nice scent for the German society.
Bro joop hoome is so strong that the guys who sprayed a little too much on themselves back in 1989 are still smelling of it today after 30 odd years it's absolute beast mode fragrance I'm in the love it camp I'm afraid 🤣👍

Its a decent scent bro. Just not for me. I might have been a bit harsh on it. Its not the worst scent honestly. Im more of a Sauvage, Spicebomb, Invictus freak

Look at it!!! Its been around the block numerous of times! But there is honestly something about it that still makes me smile. I wear it sometimes and someone will ask what am i wearing because they say it smells good. I'm 42 and I've first discovered Joop when i was 13. And fell in love with it ever since! It's a classic for sure! It ain't for everyone and thats ok. The key is to not over spray. Once you over spray you kill the vibe or you just may kill someone!!! This is a dangerous weapon! Lmao.😁 Joop and Eternity will always be my favorite classics from the past!
Nothing smells dated. If it was made in 2024 you would have not said that it smelled dated. It's just a smell. You either like it or not

I love joop homme. It’s definitely a love it or hate it. You are reviewing the newest formula. I have a vintage bottle which the liquid is a darker purple. Nuclear strong.

This is my favorite men's cologne i bought it for my boyfriend all the time if we broke up i would bust the bottle on the pavement No way was he going to smell that good for another woman then we would make up and I'd go buy him another that's when it was $70 a bottle....

I remember the days when this was the club premier scent. It was MUCH stronger back in those days... nuclear strong.
Most of my subscribers really enjoy this fragrance. Definitely going to give it another try.

When Coty took over it was reformulated and it just does not smell the same anymore. It used to be my fave. It's definitely better in winter

I bought it for the same reason *today* at Burlington I got the 4.2 ounce bottle for 24.99. When I first smelt it I was like crap I am trying to give it some time to see if my opinion changes. It is very different than any other cologne that I have so I may keep it just for that reason. I get some powder, spices the main note that I get is cinnamon. It's a tough blind buy that's for sure,
Maybe if we jumped into a time machine, back into the 80s it would be 🔥💀

I bought it Blind too. But I'm 61 so it might be good after all. Won't waste it and paid $22 so can't take it back. Just hoping it ain't as Bad as you say it is.

I agree man, just got this as a gift from a relative and it just smelt too much like something an old person would wear. Was not a fan of the scent at all but I can appreciate that it was a good scent back in the day

It was my signature fall and winter scent in highschool. Ultra beast mode. I don't know how strong current juice is.
This fragrance does not smell bad, its just not my type of scent. Too musky, i was more into curve and coolwater in highschool

I don't think it smells as good and last as long as it did back in the day! The reformulation isn't the best! I want to get my hands on a vintage bottle. There's something in the newer versions that turns me off. I can't really explain what it is. Very off putting to my nose. 🥴

I have collections from high end premium brands creeds ,tomfords and amouage but joop homme is one of my best 3 perfumes. Joop is good with just 2-3 spray and it will easily last 6-7 hours

I bought a bottle of this about 30 years ago, when I was in college. It’s nice to wear in the winter-in _moderation._ And by “moderation,” I mean depressing the atomizer almost as an afterthought. Like 1/10th of a full spray to the neck. If you don’t overdo it, the cloyingly “sweet” scent that this is known for is significantly offset. I still have roughly a third of it left
Although now discontinued, I'm a massive fan of 'JPG Fleur DU Male'. It's projection/staying power and it's maxed out 'sweet/floral' vibe. Wondering if this gives off a similar vibe (also a fan of spicy/incense fragrances eg. Mugler Pure Havane and F1 Overtake 320).
Nice! I got a super strong incense fragrance recently… it was too much for me. It was Afnan Supremacy Incense.
I'm surprised tobacco isn't listed as a note, as it dries down, I pick up a tobacco note in this fragrance.

Just purchased this a couple days ago I liked it I think it smells great its got a unique smell I'd purchase again the cologne I don't like or I'm not too fond of is Paris Hilton cologne just not fond of it so... I use it for air freshener ha 😜🤪

In summer it doesn't last that long on me but I haven't tried it in winter.

Spray on the clothes and side of the neck by the ears. A good amount, like 10-12 sprays. I Usually get 8+ with most fragrances that way.

i totally agree with you now but it was late hahah i already bought it and yes it is weird and i wrapped in plastic and wont use, it semmsl so strange and too strong not in a good way it is almost like it is so unnatural, i feel my head hurts and my chest too after using its horrible haha i will neevr use it ,,,, there is something very strange about this one tho i remeber joop has nicer plseasent smell before but this one is just too much and can not be bared !

I'm sure the other reviewers are right about one thing. The longevity. It's a strong cologne. It seems harder to get samples. Maybe, I'll call ahead and ask the local cologne section at Ulta if I can just come in now and then and try a few colognes at at time and eventually try to make a choice. I think they would give me the cold shoulder. I think that is one reason we blind buy.
