A few years back you were able to buy this on the Lacoste website…but sadly now it’s discontinued and you just see the occasional one on eBay…I wish you the best in hunting a bottle down my friend….JL
I still have a 50ml *original* bottle of this in my collection. Splash bottle (wish it had an atomiser) of the After Shave. Batch code: K02A. I looked that up and it shows as 2020-10 but there is a note that batch codes are repeated every 10 years. My bottle is possibly 20+ years old. Think I purchased it from The Fragrance Shop in Lakeside or Bluewater shopping centre. I still like it and do prefer it to other Lacoste fragrances that I own such as Pour Homme Intense L.12.12 Blanc. It’s really frustrating when fragrance houses discontinue really nice fragrances especially when they were popular. How or why does that make sense from a business point of view? 🙄🤔

Thanks for the entertaining review. I have a bottle of the original I special ordered in the late 90's and then found a back up box in a discount store about 15 years ago. I still wear it and still love it. I wish it was still available, although there are some vintage bottles posted on ebay that aren't outrageously priced. Love the stuff!
Thank you for the great video, I heard you in the video saying that this copy you have is a reprint of the original perfume that was released in 1984, does this mean that the version you have is different in terms of smell from the old version, and is there a copy for the 1994 version, I searched In eBay and found most of the bottles that are similar to the ones you have, I think they are printed copies like the one you have, do you have any information about the original old version and how to access it and what are the differences between them and the printed copies.
Thanks for your comments, okay so the bottle I have I purchased from the Lacoste website sometime in 2013 and it is clearly a more recent formulation than the ones I had when I was a teenager back in the 1980’s….I no longer have a bottle of the original, just the recent one I used for the review. So I’m very familiar with the original formulation as I lost track of exactly how many bottles I had back in the day and to be perfectly honest with you the smell is pretty much the same…the big difference is the oiliness and the fact that the original lasted all day with a steady projection throughout….my current bottle pays great homage to the original smell but lacks the same performance (although it is still respectable). I don’t find myself reaching for it too often but whenever I do it transports me straight back to fond memories and a time when I was enjoying my youth…I hope that you manage to get yourself a bottle of this amazing juice because it has seriously stood the test of time……regards from JL
I first discovered this amazing fragrance by accident in a perfume shop whilst on a lads holiday in ibiza 1994. From that moment on I was hooked and have had several bottles over the years, however it was discontinued around 2014 only to be re-released as a Ltd edition the following year 2015, from my research the 2015 version had a slightly different make up to the 1984 version? Sadly the original and the best Lacoste is gone although I have tried to contact Lacoste direct regarding why they discontinued it as all the major fragrances out there have kept their original and first fragrance but sadly Lacoste have chosen to ignore me. I still have a bottle and a half left so will have to use it sparingly. Anyone know of a fragrance that is closest to Lacoste original or do any of the other Lacoste Edt's smell similar?
I share your sadness and frustration…this timeless true MENS fragrance put Lacoste on the fragrance map…and for many of us we got hooked on this amazing juice…maybe one day they will see sense and re-release…but till then, like you say my friend, use the bottles we have sparingly….thanks for your comments…stay safe and keep spraying….JL
Lacoste Retro .... My first parfum ... I used that when I was in high school .... It's very harf to find in here in Jakarta .... It really brings my memories back ...
