This is a daily vlog of a Russian in Russia.
Life From Russia Inside Russia
62 year old here with seven grown children…five of them young men. We’ve bought countless cars, made countless mistakes had tons of fun. Make those mechanics your best friends. Hang with them while they are off work. They are literally gold mines in terms of knowledge and can save you a fortune. No matter where you live….always make friends with the best mechanic in that area.
Pro tip from an old guy in Virginia 🇺🇸.
...who cares less about genuine friendship and much more, it seems, about exploiting people. Nice, but I guess that's what America is all about these days.
Agreed if ur friends r smart u become smarter if ur friends aren't u become less n less smart
@gadaffi1000 that's the whole purpose of friendship is to have u both succeed more in life and the car industry is a money making industry u can both improve together putting ur knowledge together to achieve something
@@gadaffi100099% of friendships in life aren't genuine my friends moved to other states and forgot about each other ur friends r here today gone tomorrow ur trying to make friendships be similar to husband and wife relationships or something weird
@@gadaffi1000nothing wrong with using ur friends to help u succeed in life as long as u give them expensive gifts or loads of cash if their friendship helped u make tons of $
COOLANT! If you want to use the A/C and not overheat. Every turbo adds heat, two turbos...... Add supplemental electric fans to the radiator in front of the radiator, push/pull. The hot air from the intercooler goes into the radiator. Think about the timing belt too. Audio last! Protect the engine first.
The roll cage is a concussion waiting to happen. A quick stop could make your head impact the cage. They make pads to protect your head from impact. At a minimum add several layers of high density foam to the cage behind your head.
That cage is more likely a death hazard in accident than it would have any benefit. He should remove it right away.
Ivan's soon to be click bait " Ivan gets a dose of paralysis "
The roll cage protection as you say is a must, or a helmet 😎😂 But seriously, the whiplash from a rear end without a head rest is bad enough, a roll bar behind your head without a helmet, worse still 🚨
Almost word for word what I posted for him 2 days ago. Still great advice. But he's only 25, live and learn, I guess.
@@oggamer735 Yep, unless it's going to be track car (snicker), get rid of it. Should wear helmet in the mean time.

go out and see Thailand. car is ok but boring and not interesting
You have MADE the best Decision of your Life leaving Russia 😂😂❤!!
It's good to get out and see the world.
Agree! Ivan is on his way to so many opportunities, adventures, and more!
But he is not secure to stay in Thailand. Even for a year. That's his problem now whether he realizes it or not. Tourists are not meant to live in much less work in Thailand on tourism entry stamps. He has no visa for Thailand.
@@craiggallup5706 unless he can afford to make a VISA run every 2 or 3 months. He will probably end up a traveling nomad like most other Russian You Tubers.
@@Qthepug He should make the visa run take advantage of the 60 day stamp before that opportunity ends. After that it's probable they will face hard questions entering a third time with no guarantee of entry. By then it will probably only be 30 days stamp anyway. Yes many Russians are bopping all around Asia for temporary stays such as Cambodia, Vietnam Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, etc. But Ivan is acting like Thailand is home with a year Condo lease, cats, and a car. Impossible to bop around like that without spending a fortune. I would suggest researching the Philippines. There may be an easy way to stay there three years at a time before each visa run with continuous in country extensions Philippines is more American culture than Thailand as a former colony and most speak English.
Happy seeing your liking your car Ivan! Your a good man buying iced coffee's for the worker's! You have a heart of Gold! ❤❤❤😊
Glad to see you loving your new car! I know how hard it was selling the Cadi, but happiness is here again!
As a mom of 2 twenty something boys, have fun and make mistakes. This is your time to experience life and learn from it. New rims would look nice.
Ur a great Mom!!!
62 I agree (reluctantly!)👵🏻👍🏻😅
The rims he's rolling are JDM classics, nothing fits this car better, mom.😊
If they’re real TES why bother, light pricy wheels
Its not a mistake if its fun. I call them fun lessons.
Ivan,
Perhaps a full flush of the radiator, a new thermostat, a 50/50 pre -mix of radiator fluid, and since its a twin turbo a full synthetic oil change.
That's what I was thinking
fuel pump filters too. I'm sure they are clogged as f. Not good for proper fuel pressure.
Ditto this 👍
Also proper oil viscosity. Use the Toyota manual.

Hi Ivan & Evelina so glad your enjoying your stay in Thailand,Thank you for showing us around, don’t know a lot about cars but it looks like you picked a good one,btw love your videos 😊
This car has healed the hole in your heart from selling the Caddy.
Ivan, Love your personality, and enthusiasm keep blogging. Brother.
You’re wrong Ivan, I hit the like button before I start watching your videos. 😂
I hope you enjoy your car. Taking up all of that boot space isn’t practical for me, but I totally understand wanting to have a good sound when playing your music in the car. Especially when you have a good album playing. I’m impressed as to the condition of the car considering its age. Drive safely!!❤
My first car was a 1970 AMX 390 engine with 325 HP and posi-traction rear end. A two seater with leather bucket seats . Speedometer went to 140 or 160 MPH, I can't remember now. Fastest I had it going was 120 MPH, could have gone faster but was worried about my tires. Ivan, I understand your love for this new vehicle. Good luck Buddy!
People are so negative about your car.
I understand perfectly the want to buy something like that in your 20s. Enjoy it man, hopefully the sound system and engine and everything is smooth for a while.
I think we should name the car I'm going for the taxi cuz this is what's going to get him around I hope it runs for as long and as good as it looks yeah and Ivan should just ignore the haters
why people keep saying that his age is perfect for mistakes he is making ? Most people do not make mistakes like that their entire life, why keep cheering on Ivan headbutting wall?
@@jamesgantz5123 👍👍
@@DEVINdevdev Jesus man, live a little. If you think most people don’t make way worse decisions literally all the time when they’re young and also not young, actually hurting others or ruining themselves and not just doing a risky car buy , then I don’t know what to tell you. Your life experience seems out of whack to me.
He just poor trying to keep up with the jones
If this car is making you happy, then, no, you didn’t make a mistake. Life is so short and often full of struggles and heartache. Hold on to the happiness whenever you can. I love your videos and your outlook on life, Ivan.
Dude. You knew that was a money pit going in. But as you said, this is the right age to buy a car like that.
Until Ivan has a midlife crisis then he’ll want this beast again.
L😂L
Having once had a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi (supercharged) I can speak to owning a car with super power and super repair bills. Now in my old age I drive a 12 yr old Honda CR-V. It's reliable and cheap to repair.
What's up "FAST AND FLIPPIN FURIOS IVAN" I'm really glad you're digging you're new whip and I'm glad things are turning out well for you and Elena . IN THAILAND Best wishes ANDREW BOSTON/MIAMI USA 🇺🇸
I’m happy for you! You’re only young once, so ENJOY the ride!
As long as you like the car, you should ignore any haters. I think it's pretty trick and the Toyo 1JZ definitely has power. Of course, I also liked that Nissan 180SX (240SX in US, 200SX Europe) with the turbo Nissan RB26 swap. Years ago I had a tricked out USDM Nissan 200SX-SER (B14 Lucino) with a modified JDM SR20DET that I loved. It was fun seeing the expressions on the faces of Mustang GT, Camaro and Corvette drivers that my little Nissan romped from block to block and down the quarter mile! Wasn't the sexiest hot rod I've ever owned, but it consistently put a smile on my face! So, ignore the haters and just enjoy your sweet ride, Ivan!
Glad I found your channel ....I'm mexican🇲🇽from the U.S.A 🇺🇸

I'm glad you're enjoying the new ride. It reminds me of when I was younger and spending my coin on rides. You don't have children so go have fun, again I'm very happy for you 🇺🇸

...unfortunately I haven't followed you since you left Russia but I'm very pleased to see that you're happy. I'm going to watch all your videos since you arrived in Thailand. Best Regards from Portugal.
I'm happy for you. Everything is going well.
Loving the new car vibes in the channel. These are the jdm cars i grew up with. Cheers Ivan
Wow! Love all the car talk and information. Glad you got hooked up ! Enjoy !
The car is growing on me 😎 and your network of local people is so important 😁
Things have changed :D - In contrast, my parents immigration experience to the US in '69 were as follows (no twin-turbos involved :):
Flee across the border to Vienna (while they were still letting people out of Czechoslovakia)
Apply for US asylum and wait in Austria for 8 months (they worked some odd jobs at the hostel restaurant during their wait)
They got to stay in the hostel sharing a room with a criminally disturbed man and his poor wife (the guy was so cruel to her, I can't even get into details). The couple was rejected due to his criminal record and sent back!
My parents arrived in New Jersey with $20 in their pocket and lived with their friends from Prague for a couple weeks. They found jobs pretty quick (even without English) and moved into an apartment in a low income neighborhood in Bayonne. Since my blond dad stood out like a sore thumb in this predominantly African American area, they were constantly harassed by the locals as they were going to the bus station (this was still a time of persistent civil rights protests and riots - the people had no idea he wasn't a former slave owner - but he was a Slav :D.
They saved up and bought their first car after a few months - a 1959 Ford Falcon with a slant 6. After a couple of years working odd jobs, my dad started an above-ground pool construction business and they continued to (mostly) move upward towards citizenship 12 years later.
Ivan is not one' s sterotypical Russian gentleman. How he can afford all of this is a mystery...
The two turbos are coupled in parallel, since there simply isn't enough room for a single, larger turbo. You actually have a 1JZ-GTE: The twin-turbocharged version of the 1JZ was produced from 1990 to 2007. It employs twin CT12A turbochargers arranged in parallel and blows through a front-mount air-to-air intercooler. With an 8.5:1 static compression ratio, it delivers 280 PS (206 kW; 276 hp) at 6200 rpm and 363 N⋅m (268 lbf⋅ft) at 4800 rpm. The bore and stroke are the same as the 1JZ-GE. The early generation 1JZ-GTEs combine the smoothness of an inline 6-cylinder engine with the revving capacity of its short stroke and early power delivery of its small, ceramic-wheeled turbochargers.
one word: Oligarch
@@PendeltonWhiskeyOligarchs don’t drive 30 year old turbocharged rice burners. Try new Lamborghinis, Ferraris or Bentleys.
@@Gopferteckeltheir grandsons do
The main difference is capacity: The 1JZ engines displace 2.5 L, and the 2JZ engines displace 3.0 L. They are engines from Toyota and both are similar in make up and functionality. The 2JZ has a longer stroke and is called a square engine cause the stroke and bore are equal
I wish you luck with the car Ivan, please both you and Evalina stay safe on the roads of Thailand.
Just a tip. I believe you don't have a mechanic in Moscow. You need to find a mechanic in someone you can trust. Never ever. Never, ever buy a car without doing an inspection. The least you can do is ask the seller if he can pay for the inspection, and if it passes, then you will buy. That also weeds out people who know it will be a money 💰 pit for you and walk away or lower the price of the car. Good luck.
He's actually acting quite careless IMO. What you advise is sound and wise. But Ivan is the typical guy, he bought that car based on looks alone, and that for him it was kewl. He didn't want anyone saying the car had problems. For him there's not mechanic and no inspection needed.
When he first started talking about getting a car I looked up the insurance requirements. And I told him about what I found. Basically, you can't drive in Thailand without auto insurance, and you have to be properly licensed.
And what does he do, drive around without either. If he had got into an accident (easy to do in a foreign country where they drive on the opposite side of the road compared to Russia) he would be tossed into a Thai jail for some time.
He has not been in Russia for a while.
Congrats. Very happy for you Ivan!!!
Ivan your looking great and its great to meet new people and make new contacts
Ivan, cool car bet definitely lose that roll cage. One small rear ender and the back of your head will be smacking off that steel bar. A small accident could easily be fatal with that thing as it is.
Those are only for HELMETS USED IN THE VEHICLE!
That’s why we don’t see them, even as an option in most cars.
Ivan, you'll like this. Back in 1991 I bought a 1990 Mitusbiti Eclipse GSX turbo all wheel drive five speed manual trans, with 9,000 miles on it. Now you talk about a fast car. That was my little pocket rocket. I could pass anything on the road when I was on winding roads and no one could keep up with me. I got in some races back in those days and it was fun. Mostly by the time I got third grear wound out to seven grand I was usually way ahead, and I still had fourth and fifth to go. Lots of fun, but that was years ago when I was young. So I sold it and now I have a fully restored 1953 MG TD which is identicle to the very first car I ever bought when I was 18. Cool car but not as fast as the Eclipse but fun to drive around at about 40mph. Since I married my high school sweetheart she was thrilled to ride in one again like when we were dating.
Glad you are happy with you're car not really My Taste but that's not what matters as long as you like it.... Good Luck and Keep on Rollin
I did ,I hit the like button when you said! Its going to be a fun journey ,I'm in. Back here in the states ill stick w/ my Caddy. No matter what car you choose you'll never make everyone happy. We need a little more Evilina..
Ivan, basics, basics. Flush the radiator. Check thermostats. Shrouds are in place. Fan works properly. Can the air get out of the engine bay.
There is a product called water wetter that helps transfer heat in the radiator.
I used to sell Water Wetter back in the 70s. I looked it up a it's different than what I remembered. I remember it was sold in a can. It was a greenish blue with the consistency of a slurry. I think it was made by Sta Cool.
Made by Redline now, I think they rebranded or bought out Sta-Cool. Good stuff.
Described as;
Water wetter is a cooling system agent that can double water's wetting ability. It reduces the surface tension of water, which means smaller vapor bubbles form. These vapor bubbles create an insulating layer on metal surfaces that prevents heat transfer. By lowering the surface tension of coolant, water wetter can lower engine coolant temperatures, which allows for better heat transfer from the engine's metal components to the coolant. This can reduce the chances of overheating and cylinder head hot spots.

Absolutely, and it's best to replace the water im radiator with the right coolant.
Cover the roll cage and with some foam guess because thats dangerous for your head.

You're only 25 once right??? This lesson will stick for a while... 😂 keep it up, you're doing good. Learn to wrench and get dirty if your gonna keep that thing!
what do you mean, i'm 75, that's three times.lol.
There's utube vids on how to repair everything on a 1jz
Dude im almost 40 and still drive a rwd 90s sports car.
Ivan, you might want to get sunshades to keep inside cool while you park in the sun. Not sure if it helps slow down seats deterioration. Keep it up and it will last until you sell it.
Looks like a great shop, love the content Ivan.
Check that radiator and get antifreeze in it. Running only water will cause corrosion. Your power steering cooler looks plugged with dirt and should face forward or put air reflector.
Bert good eye and sound advice!
Too bad IVAN WONT SEE IT or respond
Looks like you're having fun tricking out your new ride. Enjoy. 💖
That was funny when you said the people that say they don't like your car Are just jealous!

Very nice black Mercedes W114 1968-1976 6 cylinder with a W114 number plate too!
Good eye. Thank you,.
Most people are boring and drive boring cars. I support the purchase and it should be expected when buying a modified, older car, that you'll need to repair a few issues. Let's hope the cefiro is dialed now.
However, you should still keep an eye on the engine temps. Hopefully it was the holed radiator causing high temps and not a head gasket.
Boring or not boring, dude keeps making simple car buying mistakes, hard to believe he has owned a car before.
Ivan, you're getting shit done. Excellent job, buddy.
Yeah
Go have fun! You deserve some fun! Love your attitude!
Good luck Ivan. 😊
Love the car! Great video.
Looking good Ivan. The next major job is to get Ewelina a driver's licence.
I'm glad you're getting you car fixed up nicely with cold ac and loud music Ivan. She's looking good my friend, I know Evelina is happy also. Good video and I'll see you on your next one! 👍
He looked overheated at 19:39. I don't think he got the AC fixed. Probably needs a new compressor or something expensive like that. Don't know why he videoed the guys testing it, but then didn't mention the AC again.
One of his cooling fan's was bad and they replaced it and I think they put refrigerate in his ac so both should be fixed now.
You all want to beat her guts huh
Glad you bought a car that allows you to make content with. I like the turbo noises and the interior looks great compared to most. Hoping that audio setup goes together nicely! 🔊🔊
Excellent job 👏 Ivan ❤
Get it Ivan! You're the Man!
Definitely think about the timing belt Ivan, if the guy who you bought it from can not verify when it was replaced then just spend the money and have it done. It could save you a motor replacement. 🤷🏻♂️
Good idea thanks!

I love the car Ivan its awesome i would buy it in a heartbeat you did well . Cant wait until all upgrades are on it . Keep it up legend 💪✌️👍
Recommendation for you. Put the subs behind the seat facing backwards. You will get much better bass response. The way they are facing each other, some of the sound will get cancelled out. Trust me, you will get a lot more bass response having them facing the back of the car right behind the back seat.
Ivan, a guy pulled up beside me a while back with a couple of subwoofers aimed down at the road. He turned those bad boys up and I swore the car jumped up 6 inches off the road. It shook my F150 Crew Cab. I have no idea what happened to the ears of the guy inside.

Like the car content. Interesting to see the car scene outside of North America. Enjoy the turbo powered ricer….
im a retired mechanic .you have over heating and a/c problems .i can help .you my have a 190 f thermostat , get a 170 f degree one for Thailand .also the thermostat may be stuck closed and the bypass hole in the thermostat could be clogged. get a radiator fan and a condenser fan that pushes the most cfm.one fan for the a/c and one for radiator .if the fan is straight from motor check the fan clutch .if headers are on the motor that creates heat.the radiator cap may be bad or the wrong pressure .buy antifreeze at full strength and distilled water and a hydrometer .your tag is blocking the air flow ..your water pump impeller may be eat up .your car is so low to the road your motor is smothered with road heat.. better freon for a/c is hc12a and or mx-12a
Ivan, if they told you those gauges they showed you with a water temperature, they were lying to you. That gauge was 2 gauges, one for the high pressure side, and one for the low pressure side on the AC.
Sounds like your car runs excellent
Can't wait to see and hear your sound system in the next episode.
In the United States for some reason our subwoofers are in a sealed box with no air inlet because it gives more of a pounding sound but the speakers have to be high quality or they'll rip
Flippin Legend!
Nice whip
Nice whip man
It’s a piece of shit 😂
We all make stupid mistakes, life's a learning curve.
mistakes are normal. but to make mistakes when people warn you, that is different story.
SWEEET RIDE IVAN!!!
It's over 20 years old and too many people have diddled with it. Turbo chargers don't help when it comes to reliability, especially if the engine is 2 liters or under. Trannies are usually matched up to engine power. When you start adding more power, the tranny will go sooner than later as it is not strong enough for that added power. All the electronics goofing around by novices doesn't help either. Then there is the possibility of a leaky/blown head gasket or worse that is the real cause of overheating.
enjoy yourself your young. have fun. while you can. love the channel.
Perfect engine setup in the 180sx
Got to run, hope things get better.
