    Thank you John. The easy clean & no extra sorbet attachment, has me considering purchasing this one. I love my Nama J2 but the cleaning is intense, 2 years now.

    Totally agree on the Champion juicer for banana sorbet, I’ve tried a number of juicers and ice cream blenders, I’ve purchased a 2nd hand champion from Facebook marketplace for £60 purely for sorbet 👍

      The Hurom H320n is now available in the USA. Like the Nama J2 it uses a screen, but its not the same exact machine. It also has a significantly shorter warranty, so i this case i would recommend the j2.

      Juicers made in Korea use BPA-FREE plastics in the parts that touch the produce/juice. I have seen Chinese branded (cheap) juicers use plastics that contain BPA. Several companies such as Nama, Tribest and Sana don't have prop 65 warnings on their juicers.

      I am currently testing this model, so I can get to know it better. I like cleaning the H70 over the J2 for sure, but I love the j2 hopper size 3 Liters(!) both operate in a similar manner.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I do not recommend to dishwashing any plastic slow juicer. A matter of fact this machine just needs spraying off in the sink to get clean. No dishwashing necessary.

    I'm starting to use a kind of Indian style mortar and pestle pressing against a fine mesh in a vacuum/CO2 container instead of my slow juicer or blender. It chews the food better with zero oxygen.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      would love to see a video on how you do this!

    • @jamesjonnes
      @jamesjonnes หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@discountjuicers Don't think I'm making a video, or a product. I'm too old for that, I made it just for personal use. I based it on videos of ancient Indian bull-powered groundnut oil extraction machines, but used stainless steel. It seems that they are used a lot in Africa as well. It really crushes the cell walls, and without the heat of the blender. It's like a slow juicer but with more pressure and abrasion to chew better, and the vacuum sucks the oxygen from the juice as the cell walls are opened. Feel free to take the idea, it's actually a pretty easy machine to make. I also learned a lot from your videos.

    • @jamesjonnes
      @jamesjonnes หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@discountjuicers A few problems my machine solves: Vacuum blenders go to only about 5% oxygen, if you want to go lower than that you need to replace the gas in the container. Blenders also add heat as they move too fast, higher crushing pressure with a slower speed is better. Simply pressing like the Pure isn't enough either since there isn't a vacuum to drain oxygen from the juice as it comes out, and it doesn't destroy the cell walls well (that's why the juice comes out too liquid). Slow juicers lack the high crushing pressure of other machines and lack the vacuum.

    • @peterwestender
      @peterwestender หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jamesjonnesI agree with your analysis on the pros and cons of several options, slow juicers vs vacuum blenders. However, wonder how you do this, and would be really great for all of us out here if you could share more information on your method.

    • @jamesjonnes
      @jamesjonnes หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@peterwestender Search for kharal machine. Use some reinforced stainless mesh instead of the traditional mortar, add a lot of pressure to the pestle. It's basically a slow juicer but with focused infinitely small space for better grinding (slow juicers depend on the pressure generated by the food, so resulting particle sizes are large. There's a fixed space between the screw and the screen. If the screw was being pressed to one of the sides then it would also grind food to powder particle size like blenders and the mortar and pestle). With some modifications to be faster/add more pressure maybe a wet grinder could do the job as well.

    Isn't this just putting all the problems of the mesh into the bowl? I don't see how this would prevent mineral buildup.
