Dan is the man!! Never have I heard a more beautiful and masterful performance of this old timeless hymn! And I grew up in church. My father was a Pastor (still is at age 78!) I'm a PK (Preacher's Kid) and have sung this and heard it probably thousands of times throughout my lifetime. The harmonica gets me every single time because my beloved Granny played it beautifully. I want this version at my funeral!! Can't wait to sing with him in Heaven!! God bless you and all who hear it! When I with my untrained voice sang this I always felt it wanted this power but did not have the ability to give it what it needed. He worked for years to develop the ability, the power, the vocal toolbox he demonstrates in this. This is the best version I will ever hear. This song has waited since being written in 1772 for it to be sung as the triumphant declaration it is. The beautiful harmonica interlude recalls the bagpipes which was my previous favorite. The harmonica is a childhood gift from his father who passed in 2017. This man has the voice of an archangel. Some folks have asked if he is a Christian. He chose to put this out on Good Friday and has declared his faith in Christianity. I still can't get over the artistry and sheer power and control this Brazilian metal singer brings. I didn't like opera or metal. I had also given up enjoying much music due to the music industry putting so much canned stuff out there they were stifling creativity. Dan has restored my love of music and introduced me to genres I didn't know I could enjoy. Obrigado brasiliano.

He sang this song the way it was meant to be sung with such respect, emotion & with a powerful impact. I felt the presence of God. You don’t have to use a filter over his stuff. He doesn’t copyright any of it and allows anyone to use it. It really distracts from the whole experience of watching his video.

The most amazing part of this video to me is that apparently, black people think that they invented Amazing Grace. That song has been a part of white/Scottish culture for almost 600 years. Well before we taught blacks how to do the wheel or fire lmao.
That hymn was written about 300 years ago by an ex- slave- ship captain who " saw the light" when he was in dire circumstances. He lived in England, I don't know if he was originally from Scotland.
