Colette is one of those voices I feel like the actress could never replicate the exact tone after the original game. Maybe it's the fact she got older. Nevertheless, Colette's got a really sweet voice as long as she's not angry. It's interesting how drastically her voice changes when casting Angelic Artes or when she's genuinely upset (like when someone gets killed in battle).

Nana Mizuki has gotten a little older over the years Kevassa, voice acting is a tough business. It's really tricky for those actors who stick with their iconic roles for twenty years or more. Mizuki was 23 when she did the lines for Colette in 2003. She's in her thirties now.
True, true. But then there's voices like Chelsea which somehow sound younger with the years :p
EDIT: I want to add there's a lot of voices in general that sound really different with the years. Rutee sounded very tomboyish and clumsy in PSX with more of an "american" accent. As the years went by her voice semt to sound a lot more normal (no more OKEEEEH!!!).
It's probably a lot to do with mindset and age, but still I can't help but be a soundphile xD Don't take it the wrong way, though, I'm not belitting the VAs in any way~
Kevassa02 Ah, now Naoko Watanabe is an interesting case. She was 38 when she provided the voice for Chelsea's few artes in battle in the original PSX ToD in 1997. For the PS2 remake in 2006, she was 47. She hasn't done any voice work at all in recent years though.
Other than Chi-Chi, of course. And, as proven by the OVA adaptation, Nana Mizuki can still pull this voice off! Well, then again, it IS very similar to her Hinata voice.

I will never get why people actualy prefer the english "stereotypical dumb blonde" voice for her, it just sounds so grating and obnoxious compared to this for me atleast. Really says something when i suddely start liking a character i formerly hated when playing with voiced dialogue off/with jp audio.(Honestly english colette and Jp Lioyd i have to say are tied for the most irritating voices in the series)
I gotta agree...
At first I used to admire the English voices for this game, until I realized how better the Japanese voice actors fits these characters.
I swear, I bet the only reason why English Lloyd is so adored is because he has the same VA for Robin...
(Well all besides Kratos, Cam did a wonderful job.
Maybe Presea's too.)

She has the same VA as Cheria and Marta... right? I always assumed that is was the Radiant Mythology 3 opening was referencing by showing those 3 at the end of it. If so, you're right, I almost never heard this tone from Rie again. Age can do that to a VA lol. But there are some VA's who are old as heck but still sound smooth as butter (looking at you, Cam Clarke).
As far as I know all major playable Tales characters have different voice actors.
I was referencing more her performance in VS and RM2/3. She's trying a little -too- hard to sound cute. Certain lines that came off naturally in ToS just dont seem to sound nearly as good in other games.
Maybe it's just me.
Uh no, Colette is voiced by Nana Mizuki in Japanese. Cheria is Shiho Kawaragi and Marta is Rie Kugimiya.

No problems! I have terrible memory with names but it's sort of a tradition in Tales to never reuse VAs. Things like Dymlos and Gaius are really exceptional cases, though.
