I'm saving some jobs for my international friends to complete when they eventually visit.
I don't want them to be bored 😉

Great video, thanks for showing us the sealant and paint you use, it is good info.

      Thank you Colin!
I figure I should show more of the things I'm using, especially if they aren't sponsored items. I'm using them because they are my preference, not because a company gave them to me for free.
(I definitely don't have any sponsored items, and If I ever do, I'll be sure to make it very clear in my videos.)

Great stuff. The valve cover came out really nice

Thanks. It's not perfect, but it does look nicer (to me)
The frustrating thing was there were no instructions on the can for application method, and reviews online were saying it doesn't work (probably because they didn't apply the paint using the method I used)
If it still didn't work for me, I was going to take the paint back for a refund. (for not working as advertised)
It's the new brand being sold at Supercheap Auto. (MTN brand)
Their mirror paint worked pretty well, but once again, no application instructions.

I have a 76 ra23 that im working on. really hard to find parts over here in sweden though. Have to order from australia or japan :(

Parts are getting harder to find because the Celicas are getting older and fewer on the road. We just have to try harder to keep these cars on the road. (I guess it's part of the fun)
There is a seller in Thailand that makes good reproduction parts. Some of the rubber seals are nearly exact to Toyota factory seals (which are no longer in production).
Does not sponsor me, but I have bought a lot of parts from this person.

I'd drive it with that oil leak til it got worse so I could be SURE I knew where it was coming from once I pull the trans :p

It won't pass a roadworthy inspection with an oil leak.
Next episode I manage to find the leak without pulling the transmission off.
      (Oil pan gasket ☹️)

Strictly here to witness the way foreigners pronounce Celica

Seems like me and you have simelar problems all the time . I’ve just done my sump job and noticed I’ve got to pull my gearbox next as it’s clearly leaking 🙄

    • @ProjectCarHaven
      @ProjectCarHaven  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I found that the leak was from the sump. The two rear bolts in the centre (with the thicker reinforcing plate) needed a bit more help with sealing.
I didn't find any oil internally in the gearbox.
Check the heads of those two sump bolts to see if there are drips of oil hanging from them.
