I actually played through all these missions in my own time. They're a nice distraction, and you get to unlock some bonus content from them, including music tracks (playing music in sleep mode with earphones is a neat bonus). I just wish their price wasn't so steep. Seriously, 5 coins per mission? That's only 2 missions per day, and there are 100 of them! That was just ruthless.
I beat this game recently (it was one of my first 3DS games, and I never finished it till now), and the Time Eater boss was _hard_. Eventually, I beat it.
Final boss is a thousand times better than the console/PC version, and actually challenging without it being tedious. Generations 3DS as whole, its good but a lot of missed opportunities for remaking handled stages like Sonic Advance 1-3 and Sonic Rush Adventure. But overall, it still is enjoyable.
It's a shame this game didn't get more development time it could of been alot better with improved stages. That being said the 3ds version has a much better time eater fight. Not hearing Sonics friends shout 'That looks like a hoaming shot!' Every 10 seconds was brilliant.

So wait I thought about it I think eggman stand is the time eater, it has a weaker version of "Za world" but it has the ability to also teleport and use emerald splash. Eggman even know how to do an "ora ora ora" look at lost world.
