Super solid specs like a fixed wide angle lens, no optical or sensor image stabilization, bad rolling shutter, no RAW stills, 8-bit footage only, 4k30 max with poor 1080p quality at 60 or 120fps, and no ability to use Sony's own MI shoe microphones. Sounds like a great buy.

Yeah, I don’t get the hype about the Sony cameras that don’t have inbody stabilization that are marketed towards content creators because content creators are usually out on the move making video and inbody stabilization is so important. You really can’t correct that stuff with catalyst browse without seriously cropping in on your video. The alternative is to also have to be forced to carry a gimbal so that you get stabilized video. But as a content creator, you don’t wanna have to carry all of that extra gear if you just want to be on the go.

The fuji xt200 is $500 for black friday. Got the same deal last year and zero regrets. Fantastic camera with an interchangeable lens. Comparable to Canon m50 (but a better kit lens and screen)

If you're poor, this isnt the hobby for you. This is an investment into a field of content creation, its justified for the people who can afford it. That being said, for a budget around 100-200 (which was mine), there are some really good options, if you don't mind getting your hands dirty.
yeah dude, there's always the one step up. I got the eos r which is a little over 1k. it was a slight stretch of my budget but I have all my old ef lenses. This camera is everything I was looking for but yet tons of people told me I'm crazy and should have gotten the r6 because it's way better. like ok, I agree, but the r6 also cost 2.5k rather than 1k. 🤣 it's never enough
Not sure where they are at now with added video capabilities but I got an open box canon g series years back and it shot fast through the zoom range great bokeh, it killed the Sony compact rx of that day that everyone hyped.
Personally I would spend the extra $200 and get the more amazing Sony AF on their slightly higher end ones. I mean it’s a great little camera but has contrast based AF instead of phase detect like all other Sony cameras. It’s not bad and has great picture quality as well as having a great price. But if your moving around or needing autofocus that’s going to track or follow anything get the Zv-1 or the zv-e10. The ZV-e10 is where I would spend my money if I was new to TH-cam or content creation. Also just know that it’s a fixed focal length lens so your getting locked lens no real zoom. It does offer digital zoom but on these smaller sensor cameras it’s not good enough to use. 🤷🏼♂️ just know it’s a great price and budget option and you can use it for HDMI output for twitch streams but the contrast AF is not as good as other Sony cameras

You can get probably better stills camera for that but a DSLR would be worse option for video. You could perhaps get other mirrorless alternatives though. Depends on your needs.
I have the ZV E10 which is also made for content creators and it ****ing slaps, especially when you stick a decent portrait lens on it. It has a button specifically to get soft backgrounds (not the fake ones your iPhone does, real ones with wide aperture). That alone is worth it, plus it's super light & durable.
You know that you can buy a lot of M42 mount lenses for less than 50$ that can be mounted on almost all cameras via an adapter( except nikon dslrs) and give you really low F stops?

I have one. its ok overall. Takes phone level photos, but slightly above phone quality. Even though I have a r50 now. I still like this camera because of its size, and better battry life, and its a good for zoom meetings

I am an enthusiast content creator, Sony is extremely unfriendly to use. I can never find anything, nothing makes sense. Ive logged about 50hrs into various Sony Cameras. 30 of those on an A73. I still never figured out how to properly use it. My Canon RP took about 2 hrs to figure out most of the features.
Couldn’t disagree more, sure I use Sony A7S III as my daily driver but I’ve had big gigs on way cheaper cameras with high quality results, put that camera in the hand of a professional and creative person and the majority of the viewers would never guess the price of the camera. It’s all about the content, not the camera.
