I have a better idea. Put the ingredients in a paper bag and THEN put them in your food saver or mylar bag. That way, the macaroni will not cut the bags open.
i vac seal tons of boxed stuff in the box-- i smack down all 4 corners onn the bottom and then all the corners on top and viola! no pointy corners to break the bag. mostly pasta, brownies and cake mix so far
Just offering people different options. I by no means store all of mine this way. Trust me I know how much they cost and they are treasured items in my home.
I’m just wondering if it would be easier for someone who may have arthritis, to rest the brake bleeder on the counter or table and just push it using more whole arm motion. I have one but haven’t started using it yet, but I’ve seen it done that way on another channel. You had only 3 jars to do but if you had many jars to do, I’m guessing it could get pretty difficult with the hand squeeze. Just a thought 😊Great video !! 👍
@@melodyshomesteadlife Ahhhh …. That’s precisely the method I was getting at 😊 I’m going to try both to see which one I can handle, but I have a feeling it will be the bracing. I’m way older than you 😩.

I was thinking put it in a brown lunch bag and then vac seal them, small package and can save lots of space
I vacuum seal the entire box with my food saver in a bag. It crushes the box a bit but it is air tight🤷♀️
oh! What a great idea! Thank you.
Same 👍🏻

The noodles will be fine but the cheese packets will turn rancid
Plan on using them before that happens! Thanks for the concern. Just longer storage than in the box.
I was reading that the powdered cheese lasts a couple years easy if not way longer
Store cheese and pasta separately in case cheese is going bad. This way you don't have to redo sealing all the jars.
Mine was 6 years old,,.noodles was fine, cheese not so..
Powder cheese or the sauce?
I vacuum sealed some in bags, but also poped a hole in the cheese packets so they would suck the air out
That's what I done.
The jars cost 4x what the food does....not very practical .

There is air in those cheese packs and it will go bad.
I don't leave them that long. Mainly to protect in the basement pantry longer than just sitting on the shelves.
I think this is such a neat idea!!
Good information good tips camera too close
Sorry for that
Mac and cheese lasts without vac sealing
Yes it does, just showing options for longer storage out of cardboard boxes.

Sometimes I brace it against the table if I’m doing several jars.

What about the macaroni with the cheese sauce? Can you do that kind the same way?
I would think so. I haven’t tried it but I don’t think the suction would open the bag of sauce.
Can't weebles still grow
I haven’t had any problem with my vacuumed sealed pastas so far.
Can you post a link where you got that hand pump amend kit from
CARSC Hand Held Vacuum Pump Tester Set Vacuum Gauge and Brake Bleeder Kit for Automotive with Adapters Case a.co/d/73VXiPu
Added link. Like the one I use.
You need to turn your phone the other direction when filming.
Yes I was trying something different and I did not turn out as planned. Thanks for the input.
They what I have been doing with mine.
