Great video thanks for taking your time to show how to do it correctly.

Thanks for the video, it made installation a breeze. I ended up moving the air filter box out of the to get to the passenger side nut to remove the stock hood latch. Once again great work and many thanks!

Thanks for the excellent video and narration. Good suggestion about the lock nuts on the top. I was on the fence between these and the Rugged Ridge latches and your video helped me decide. They just seem cleaner. Installing mine today on my 2015 Sahara JKU.

I bought these Drakes for the TJ. Undoubtely they look good, but have one disadvantage: when you open the hood frequently, the pins will eventually cause scratches in the TJ's metal fenders when you are not very careful.

Nice video, should have watched first, I did over tightened the top nuts thinking you should and it did pinch the top making the pin difficult to slide through, now works great, thanks,

Longer term review: These things work well on the highway. They aren't the cheapest solution, but they stop hood flutter. It may even lead to a slightly smoother ride, I believe now that my hood would bounce and cause some vibrations that could be felt and maybe heard. It just seemed like normal Jeep chatter, but less bouncing has smoothed things out a little. It may be all in my head, trying to justify the purchase. I do like them though, and I still feel it was worth it.

Excellent video. Easy install. Sadly mine rusted after 50 days or so.

Great Vid. Just bought some and hope all goes well. One other thing with all due respect. Does your finger have any feeling in it? Yours is making mine hurt.

Thanks, yeah it's fine. Doesn't hurt and I can feel it normally. Its on my to do list though.

I mounted my hilift to the hood, much cheaper solution to the problem and I haven't had any good bounce since

Anyone experience any failures with these latches? One of my questions with them is that with significant flexing of the Jeep when off roading, does the risk of damage increase? In other words was flex built into the stock system, and I should loosen these up when I go off road? Thanks for any responses.

does the cable hit the jeep while running down the road?

No, it never moved. It’s pretty stiff.

Hey can you send me a link to where you got these so I can look for some for my jeep?

+Bradley Monter I bought mine from Drake Offroad on Amazon. The part description was "Drake Off Road Hood Hold Downs (Pair) - Jeep JK Wrangler '07-12" Mine is a 2015, and they still fit perfectly.
*Note Amazon allows you to check the fit with your vehicle. Make sure you do that and don't just use my link. It is easy to order the wrong ones. I did the first time. The return through Amazon Prime arrived in less than 24 hours. Amazing.
The link I used was: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006WAE788/ref=s9_dcbhz_bw_g263_i5_sh
I didn't select the ones with a lock on them. I read all the reviews and people seemed to have trouble over time with the locks getting too hard to operate. I have about 1K miles on these so far on the highway. I don't worry anymore about my hood flying off.

The latch pin should go through the front not back. It’s designed so it can’t slid out with forward momentum.

Right off the bat you start taking a nut off without saying where it is, what its holding, or what size it is and we can't see it. You have zero business making how-to videos.
