I'm an aspiring barber. Your barber videos motivate me like no other! PLEASE MORE!
"5" on the sides and back with the clippers. Tapered back. Take a bit off the top, but keep it long enough so I can part it.
Nothing like getting that classic cut at a good old fashioned Barber Shop. Great Video!
New video! Shave and a Haircut: Razbacks Barbershop.
Please share!
I know lots of guys who shave with straights, they will love this vid, :D
I wish I had a guy like this in the area.
Great video! We need to take back our standards from the chain stores. Barber shops like this give me a sense of community even though I havent had a pro-cut in years.
so does this shop have any customers other than Ferdie Mercury?
Love seeing focuses on small businesses doing it right by their customers in an old fashioned way!
More videos like this one please, I really enjoyed watching this!
When you are visiting another town, get a shave at a barber shop, community should support these initiatives.
We're hoping to make this a series. Any suggestions on barbershops we visit next?
Just got my first haircut there today. Best haircut experience I've ever had. Really great environment and they work with you.
Favorite AoM video to date. Nice work!
I just got a fresh comb over from RJ last Thursday. Awesome crew! One of the best cuts I've had!
This video is truly superb.
This video brought a smile to my face :) Id like to go there!
Great, support your local barber, make the barber shop a temple of manliness
Great video as always.
I'm impressed. Heading over to buy some products online now!
Nice Video! Good Quality! This shop looks great!
Man I wish I lived closer to this barber shop. I use the IMPERIAL product line, best pomade I've ever used. Hands down.
awesome. great video!
Yay, new video
Great dapper old style hair cuts!
Can't wait for the next video. :)
Great video guys, keep the good work.
I like the music in this video, gives a good old classic feel to it.
That's my boy Pedro! I first met him at Syndicate years ago and glad to see he's doing well. I'm in PHX now but next time I'm in town I'm stopping in for sure.
Great video please keep them coming :)
I was excited to see this video before I found out it was the created of Imperial. Definitely really cool.
Good stuff!
YES! Max's Barbershop in Gas City, IN. Especially if you talk to Chad Dilts. The best barber in town.
Then again, Gary's Barbershop in Upland, IN has the coolest old-fashioned hard-wood counter and old-style huge chair.
There is a barber shop in Topeka KS that specializes in fantastic hair cuts - Debonaire's, it has been written up in the newspaper... but the cuts that I am really talking about are the cool carving designs. I am a cosmetology student who is also considering barbering because I am good at it.
Imperial barber products are great. I suggest trying them out.
Please, what is the music? I LOVE IT
What is the song in the back ground? Great video!!! Keep them coming.
very interesting!
Wish it been open when I was there. Never found a regular place to go when I lived there.
Hawleywood's Barber Shop is a must
Thats the thing with people complaining about the prices they want a good haircut but dont want to pay the price some go to a salon and they mess them up well you do get what you pay for
You guys are in Long beach? oh man i have to get out there at some point.
I'm not sure if you guys ever get out of Cali. but if you ever find yourselves in Columbus, OH. There's a great shop called Old Familiar Barber Shop. Totally worth it.
A barbershop with beer on tap? That sounds amazing.
I'm going to move down to Savannah soon- any suggestions for a good barber shop?
It'd be really cool if you could visit Hawleywood's in Costa Mesa.
Thank you Zortan Urban
I didn't even know a barbershop like this existed. I wish there was one near Denton, Tx. Or maybe there is and I just don't know about it... researching now. LOL
Rick's Chop Shop in Mt Airy MD is a must
What brand is the green apron you're wearing?
What is the hairstyle called at 0:26, what would you ask for? And if you were to taper the sides more what would it be then?
where I live, haircuts are 11 dollars.
Lennartz Olde Time Barber Shop in Dayton Ohio! My buddy got me a straight razor shave before my vows in a Religious Order. They even sell the Art of Manliness book there!
Danburry Barber Shop in Provo, UT. Great barber, plus it'll give Kate a chance to go see her Alma Mater (Provided Brett and Kate travel together for these shoots)
You should do a video on how to communicate what you want to your barber. I always have this problem.
Old Glory in Venice Beach.
Ernie's Chop Shop in Torrance
Hawleywoods in Costa Mesa
That is Brett MacKay founder of Art of Manliness.
Interesting.
Hawleywood's is a great shop!
I have always wanted to go get a shave at a barbershop but I just cant trust having somebody with a razorblade to my throat but that's what happens when you only trust immediate family. and I usually just cut my own hair cause I keep it kind of short and no need to spend that kind of money on it. but sometimes I want I little style so I get somebody to do it just not very often. good video.
Great
Classic Never Change.
Dandy Guy!
Yeah what is that music called please.
I wish there was a barbershop like this in Orlando, FL. Hard to find a good classic barber.
Eleanors barbershop
$25! My barber shop is $13, and that's a huge jump from the $6 my now retired Barber used to charge.
Song on background?
visit Baxter and Finley in LA
I know this great barbershop in Shipshewana, Indiana. $10.00 a haircut, $9.00 for citizens 60 and over. Men only, lots of business, one barber, best quality.
hair looks nice...
SO handsome.
Go down to "Shorty's Barbershop" in historic Saint Charles, Missouri!
Ive been to this shop! Pretty cool place
As you explore the potential of a series, also explore the possibility of visiting other "manly" establishments. I fear barbershops may become repetitive over time; expand to other fields. Also, thanks for the profile pic.
The other barber in the video wears the same barber jacket that i have been wearing for the past 40 years. I have them in every color.
1:02 What is ??
Special video on handlebar mustache would be great... Thumbs up if you agree :-)
In most states using a strop is against health code and unsanitary. All barbers should know this.
The Handlebar Barbershop in Thousand Oaks
I would really like to go to a barber once, but for 25 bucks I could supply myself with enough razors and cream to last me like 6 months. Don't get me wrong, but I think it's kind of overpriced.
You need to check out The Modern Man Barber Shop in Portland, OR. I've been going there since they opened a few years back and they're great. Go get a shot of whiskey, a cut & shave, leave with your cigar in hand and you'll feel so manly you'll be certain you just out ranked Sinatra... (Google - themodernmanpdx)
Some "inspired by" Muddy Waters' Can't be satisfied song.
dude i live a walk away fromt his place. but i already have my own place im a regular too so yeah.
Magician12345 where you go im in lbc an usally go to a place called mr micks but my wife would kill me paying 30
oh i never heard of that place.
Magician12345 its on pacific ave an 19th but im thinking of trying this place
0 dislikes. WOW
Actually I think barbers are not charging enough for some of the work they put out!!!!
Tight tight...
Did he say they only have one hair style that they do?? All customers exit looking like Freddy Mercury. Did he say only $25 bucks two times a month?? Does he give Tats?
The test for these places is: Do they use a strop? If they don't, then it's those cheap disposable razors that just tear your face up.
This guy is a true barber, not some hipster bullshit.
the guy in the chair looks like Freddie Mercury
Zotel sorry damn AC
I go to a salon for $30 a cut.
Pretty shitty price though for a haircut
Hate the music, love the concept, "Imperial".
You're missing the point of a Man going to the Barber Shop then.
This guy suggests a $25 haircut TWICE a month rather than a $40 salon?
If my haircut doesn't last at least a month you haven't done your job.
The quality of his barber skills doesn't dictate how fast your hair grows... He means you can afford to keep your hair in that 'fresh from the shop' state.
The only reason why I dont go to a barber shop is because I go to a salon where there are only hot chicks working there.
Art of Manliness Rule No. 666: If you loose all your hair because of too much manliness, face it like a real man and have the same haircut as Bruce Willis has. It isn´t wrong to have a Die Hard-haircut ;-)
No self respecting man gets his haircut at a salon.
Jake I would say the exact opposite. A real man shaves with a real manual blade - double edge or cut-throat razor. For him, a trip to a barbershop is a luxury. Don't knock it until you try it...
BARBERSHOP, yes. SALON. NO.
Exactly! There's a huge difference in a salon versus a barbershop. Barbers know what they're doing.
Overpriced my ass! To do a proper straight razor shave is a bit time consuming and takes a lot of skill!
