    Get to know the students,
    First minute.
    1-5 minute review last lesson.
5-25 teach a new concept. Practice. Maximize the time.
    25-30 FUN learning game.
    Rewards are motivating.
If it's for one hour adjust the time.

      Thank you.

One question for you about online tutoring...you mentioned offering extra whiteboard time if the student has had a productive session. Do you have your students purchase a usb digital pad and stylus or do they. just use their computer mousepad to write on the whiteboard? Thanks for your help!

  • @slvrangel22

This was really helpful! I'm in the process of starting my own tutoring business and will launch it in September. I have already started promoting.
My question is this.. but first a long winded explanation...
One of my promotional ideas is starting in mid-September when school really takes off with having a drop-in tutoring session once a week. Sessions are $5 for 15 minutes. If a child needs help with their homework or the teacher has told mom or dad that their child is not grasping a phonics lesson or they want someone to help their child read a book or work on writing they can scan the QR code on my flier see if their is an available time, reserve it, then bring their kid and materials with them. This is geared to mostly elementary. I figure I can help the community with those who can't afford tutoring, while also promoting longer tutoring sessions on other evenings.
So with that... Might you have recommendations for what is best to have in a tutoring kit? Math manipulatives? Reading games or phonics manipulatives?
Do you have any videos on tutoring kits?
    Thanks!!!

@@slvrangel22 I don’t currently have a video on tutoring kits. Something to make in the future for sure!

    Thank you for thsi video!
Im a recent stay at home mum and think tutoring would be a goos job for me to do in the evenings around child care. However I graduated in 2014 so have been out of education for a long time and I have no experience tutoring. I've been working in office roles since graduating
However this is something that I think I can do (at one point i was thinking of training as a teacher). My degree is in Psychology and I have A grades at A levels Psychology and Sociology. I also have good grades in English, English lit, History and child development at GCSE. Unfortunately I dont have any friends or family at school age to practice on. I'm a little bit nervous! Are all the resources online free? How long does it take to learn a topic for a client? Any advice for me?
