      Molly Burke hey Molly, I just wanted to say that it was A bit disappointing to find out that, you try to act cited. As a totally blind person myself, I find it a bit discouraging, to hear that from a blind person like myself. It almost seems like, you are embarrassed to be blind. Sorry but I don't support, blind people, that are afraid to embrace their disability. Sorry but I am unsubscribing.

    Honestly you're my role model. Even though I'm not blind I think that you're amazing. You keep going even when things are pushed at you. I want to be like that.

    I love that you don't use your blindness as an excuse not to do stuff. You're literally just a normal person who does normal person stuff and it's amazing.

      Robbie Nado You should watch her video about learning to surf. It is very inspiring.

    • @poppyfield4463
      @poppyfield4463 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Thank you for mentioning about chronic illness. All disabilities are different. I think people don't realise this when they see one disabled person act 'normal' & question why we all can't. It puts us all against each other in that only those of us that can act 'abled' are worthy. Molly if you read this, thank you sooooo much for talking about accessibility!! I hope people really take what you said into consideration & practice :)

    • @jscire__872
      @jscire__872 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Robbie Nado You know, what you say may seem back-handed because in so many cases doing "normal" things while living with a chronic illness or a disability may take so much more bravery, physical and/or mental effort, and pure resilience just to do those things or to make them appear "normal" to you than what doing the same things would most typically take. So phrasing it like an "excuse not to do stuff" doesn't take that into account at all. You can't know what it costs to another person to live as they do or what different kind of effort they need to put into their daily life than what you might have to.
      But I think I agree with you that what is amazing about Molly is that it feels like she is so driven as a person that you can't help but to be inspired. But it's also telling that the awareness she brings is needed, when people are unwittingly kind of surprised that she's just a regular person being exited about life, and facing whatever trials came your way, and I think, personally, that that's humbling. I think her being here in YT is so very important and valuable.

      @Animor.. 7 ปีที่แล้ว +56

      sjk98 she mentioned in another video or on a live stream that she dreams the same way she experiences life.. so she hears stuff and smells stuff but doesn't really see anything

    • @alui92
      @alui92 7 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      @Romii Mac You might recall a video from "TheTommyEdisonExperience" ( guy that is blind from birth) there she said, that because she went blind after being able to see she dreams like us, so alltogether with visual, smell and feel. The blind-from-birth guy only dream with smell and feel... This is also quite logical, because you dream about your experience and even when you went blind from the age of 14, her brain still has images from earlier and the ability to form new visuals with her other senses.
      Sorry for all the grammatical faults, I'm not a native speaker.
      Also, if I'm wrong on this one, please link the video where she tells your version.

      @GrüneBanane behaupte doch nicht dass andere Lügen würden wenn du es selbst nicht weißt ._.
      Der andere TH-camr heißt übrigens TommyEdison.
      In a livestream on instagram a couple of days ago Molly mentioned what Romii Mac said; I think in the video with Tommy Edison GrüneBanane was referring to she mentioned dreams from when she was sighted still contained vision, but I guess memories have faded so she can't magically "see" in her dreams :)

    • @katvtay
      @katvtay 7 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      She has discussed this a bit. Molly doesn't see in her dreams; at least not that she can recall later. She doesn't have a concept of vision in awake life anymore, so it makes since Molly doesn't have dreams where she is seeing like she did before 14. Obviously, some memories of sight could be in her subconscious-maybe like how we may have a dream seeing someone where we know it's them in the dream, but when awake after, we cannot not visualize them. I haven't seen Molly say she actually has dreams where she is looking at anything with her eyes. So I am totally speculating about how it could be when dreaming of "old things." But perhaps she never has even a hint of that. Certainly, I know she has not said memories of sight actually come out in dreams.
      One thing Molly said that does happen in her dreams is that, while not having vision, she will navigate her surroundings with no hesitation, and she never needs a cane or her dog. She just gets around, no problem. I thought that was really interesting.

    For your tattoo, you could ask the artist to use a lot of ink so that the skin gets a tiny bit thicker and you can feel your tattoo ☺ one of my tattoo is like that and I love it!

    I've been to Vancouver when I was still in High School for a Student exchange (I'm from Germany) . However, we just moved back to Florida and did the drive from Alaska. So we did the long Canada route and drove through Yukon, BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan,and Manitoba. I always thought the friendly gravity was just a meme but when driving through the Yukon portion we saw some of it. No swear words!!! So awesome. My husband was so happy when he met a person who actually said Eh after every sentence just outside of Edmonton. This was the highlight for him. My daughter fell in love with Canada and was sad when it was time to cross the border back to the US. She actually asked if we could move up there. :)

    Have you ever been to Six Flags, Magic Mountain? It's in So-Cal and it is one of the most amazing amusement parks around and is a great place for an adrenaline junkie . The roller coasters there are HUGE! You should go check it out, one of my favorite places.

    Great video Molly and it's wonderful to "meet" you virtually through them via Casey. It is also a crazy coincidence the similarities you seem to have with Candice, though you definitely seem to have more energy! Best wishes and Godspeed to you on accomplishing all of your bucket list goals and dreams in life!

    Hi Molly! Love this! You are inspirational. BTW: I just got home from a trip in South East Asia. I visited the most amazing elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I wish I knew how to post a picture from my phone to share with you. Walking, touching, smelling, and feeding these gentle giants was a gift. Thank you Elephants!!!!!

    Hi Molly, im a young mother to a legally blind son. He has optic nerve hypoplasia, as a mother i would like to know what is something that your mother did as you were growing up that you are very thankful for. You inspire me and giving me alot of hope for my son. Keep doing what your doing. Love from the USA.

    I can relate on the learning how people act thing. I have aspergers, so even though I could see people doing things I didn't pick up on it the way they all did. I had to basically watch them and do what they do specifically. Trial and error it, review how I did in my head etc. It's second nature now, but still.
